<p class="norm">The aim of this article is to shed some light on patterns of and major motives for the adoption of different types of disruptive learning innovations by Unisa academics. To realise the aim of the study, the following questions were addressed: What are the reasons for adopting disruptive learning innovations? What is the level of interaction with disruptive innovations? What training do Unisa academics require on disruptive innovations? A qualitative approach was adopted by conducting focus group interviews with 76 Unisa academics. The data was analysed using open and axial coding, where dominant themes from the discussions were identified and discussed in detail. The findings show that the interaction of Unisa lecturers with different technologies varied from technology to technology. The study also found that disruptive innovations play a pivotal role in opening avenues and collapsing the transactional distance in an ODL institution. Some lecturers lack skill in using some technology, which is a cause for concern. Therefore, lecturers need to be trained in using technology and develop a good understanding of it to improve teaching and learning.</p>

Universities fulfill the mission of carrying out teaching, research and extension based on a recognition of education as an instrument of social transformation. In this sense, public institutions are being increasingly charged for the efficiency and effectiveness of their actions. From this context, evaluation mechanisms emerge to measure effectiveness and assign concepts to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). From the recognition of the instruments that recommend the institutional evaluation in Brazil, the mention of the planning actions, the Institutional Development Plan (PDI) becomes strategic, and in this it is observed as an indicator to be inserted, the accompaniment of graduates of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The objective of the research is to identify the actions and goals foreseen in the IDPs of Brazilian federal universities in the Southeast region to follow up their graduates. The development of this work was through the qualitative approach with documentary research, by searching the university websites for the available institutional information. The results point to two distinct contexts, in which most of the researched institutions inserted in their macro-document the theme, one group aims to implement the policy and another group intends to advance to other follow-up stages, since it is a policy already institutionalized.

Abstract The sustainability of the food supply seems to be a never-ending concern of many households in the Philippines. This concern is most especially felt in this time of pandemic wherein many Filipinos are struggling on where to get their food to feed their families. The adoption of edible landscaping has become more in demand because of the current situation caused by the pandemic. As such, having a sustainable edible garden is very much recommended because it can provide the household a “garden to table” food which can help in making the household food self-sufficient. There is a current need to promote edible landscaping technology primarily through trainings and seminars and it should be intensified to inform and educate the people on food self-sufficiency amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Edible landscaping (EL) as an approach that merges the science of crop production and the art of landscaping, is continuously being promoted using different strategies and one of which is the conduct of trainings and seminars all over the Philippines. This study assessed the different ways by which the Edible Landscaping Team of the University of the Philippines Los Banos delivered promotional activities such as webinars and e-training amidst the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted using the qualitative approach, specific case studies, and the data gathered were analyzed using thematic analysis. More than 39,000 individuals in the Philippines have already been reached and educated on the technology through the conduct of e-trainings and webinars. The presentations and lectures on edible landscaping were modified based on the needs of the requesting institution and were discussed using a combination of English and Filipino languages. The duration of the eight webinars ranged from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of almost 5 hours (in discussion is written ‘almost 4 hours). ABSTRACTThis study aimed to analyze students’ reading interest during the learning-from-home policy in the Covid-19 pandemic time, and it was conducted at the English Department of the University of Kutai Kartanegara in Tenggarong. They preferred reading fiction to reading non-fiction and preferred reading online to reading offline. They read 15-30 minutes a day and only read 1-3 books within five months of learning from home. Their reading materials came from online and offline sources, from websites, and print books by using smartphones. The type of material that was mostly read was novels especially romantic ones. The smoke house works as a tourism model that will directly impact women living across Quintana Roo communities and small towns, with the idea that this project will empower them, and provide them with a more dignified income, with the end goal to reduce the poverty rates in the state Likewise, to introduce an adequate formula of cuisine that promotes the regional gastronomic identity, since this typology of cultural heritage is linked to the experience of enjoying the state's native food. (Carrillo, J. and Vazquez, L., 2018) It should be noted that the main representatives and transmitters of gastronomy are women, usually housewives. Therefore, a methodology based on the qualitative approach was designed, taking as a basis the ethnographic method, which allows understanding the behavioral patterns of a society. In the first instance, a gastronomic laboratory is proposed for the university, which will later be used as a business model within the tourism industry, directed at people who seek to enjoy cultural and ex-periential tourism. And at the same time, it will benefit communities across the state by generating more income for them. In addition, the project of model smoke kitchen is oriented to go in accordance with the 2030 agenda. Which includes 17 objectives and 169 goals; six of those objectives are directly aligned with this project, and the rest can be observed to relate it in a more indirectly manner. In the same way, a summary of the results obtained by the five-year groundwork is presented, as well as the division of the gastronomy in the state according to the characteristics that conform the gastronomic region.
