Összefoglaló. Bevezetés és célkitűzés: Az egészségügyi intézmények digitalizációs fejlesztése kapcsán célszerű egy digitális szervezeti stratégia megalkotása a betegbiztonsági és kiberbiztonsági szempontok figyelembevételével. E tanulmány célja az egészségügyi intézményi digitalizáció betegbiztonságra gyakorolt hatásainak átfogó szakirodalmi megismerése és a nemzetközi szakirodalmi közlések tapasztalatai alapján összeállított, a hazai gyakorlatban használható intézményi stratégiai javaslat megalkotása és bemutatása. Módszer: A szerzők irodalomkutatást végeztek, angol és német nyelvű közleményeket kerestek több adatbázisban. A közlemények tartalmát előre meghatározott szempontok szerint gyűjtötték. Eredmények: A szerzők 39 közleményt értékeltek, 12 közleményt részletesen mutatnak be. A digitalizációs fejlesztések gyakorlati tapasztalatait és veszélyeit tárgyalják. Az ajánlások főként stratégiai és kiberbiztonsági szempontokat, oktatás- és kompetenciafejlesztést javasolnak. Következtetés: A szerzők hazai egészségügyi intézmények számára javasolják betegbiztonsági és kiberbiztonsági szempontokat figyelembe vevő digitalizációs fejlesztési stratégia megalkotását, amellyel a betegellátással foglalkozók szakmai szempontjainak érvényesülését segítik. Introduction and objective: In connection with the digitalisation development of healthcare institutions, it is desirable to create a digital organizational strategy, which takes into account patient safety and cyber security aspects. The aim of this study is to familiarize doctors with the comprehensive study of the effects of the digitalisation of healthcare institutions on patient safety and to create and present an institutional strategic proposal, which has been compiled based on the experience of international literature publications. Method: A study of the relevant literature was conducted, searching through publications in English and German in several databases. The content of the publications was collected according to pre-defined criteria. Results: 39 articles were evaluated out of which 12 are presented in detail. The practical experiences and risks of the digitalisation developments are discussed. The recommendations principally suggest strategic and cyber security aspects, education and competency improvement. Conclusion: The creation of a digitalisation development strategy, which considers patient safety and cyber security aspects, should be considered also in Hungarian healthcare institutions. Background/Aims Unsafe medical practices lead to large numbers of injuries, disabilities and deaths each year worldwide. An understanding of safety culture in healthcare organisations is vital to improve practice and prevent adverse events from medical errors. This integrated literature review aimed to evaluate healthcare staff's perceptions of factors contributing to patient safety culture in their organisations. Methods A comprehensive in-depth review was conducted of studies associated with patient safety culture. Multiple electronic databases, such as PubMed, Wolters Kluwer Health, Karger, SAGE journal and Biomedical Central, were searched for relevant literature published between 2015 and 2020. The keywords ‘patient safety culture’, ‘patient safety’, ‘healthcare providers’, ‘adverse event’, ‘attitude’ and ‘perception’ were searched for. Results Overall, 18 articles met the inclusion criteria. Across all studies, staff highlighted several factors that need improvement to facilitate an effective patient safety culture, with most dimensions of patient safety culture lacking. In particular, staffing levels, open communication, feedback following an error and reporting of adverse events were perceived as lacking across the studies. Conclusion Many issues regarding patient safety culture were present across geographical locations and staff roles. It is crucial that healthcare managers and policymakers work towards an environment that focuses on organisational learning, rather than punishment, in regards to medical errors and adverse incidents. Teamwork between units, particularly during handovers, also requires improvement.

Patient safety, staff moral and system performance are at the heart of healthcare delivery. Investigation of adverse outcomes is one strategy that enables organisations to learn and improve. Healthcare is now understood as a complex, possibly the most complex, socio-technological system. Despite this the use of a 20th century linear investigation model is still recommended for the investigation of adverse outcomes. In this review the authors use data gathered from the investigation of a real life healthcare near incident and apply three different methodologies to the analysis of this data. They compare both the methodologies themselves and the outputs generated. This illustrates how different methodologies generate different system level recommendations. The authors conclude that system based models generate the strongest barriers to improve future performance. Healthcare providers and their regulatory bodies need to embrace system based methodologies if they are to effectively learn from, and reduce future, adverse outcomes.

The aim of the study make inferences in the context of educational philosophy about how the latent talents in people who are the object and subject of education emerge and how they are evaluated. At the same time, it is to bring Rousseau and John Locke's views on educational philosophy to the literature. In this direction, by searching the relevant literature; evaluations and comparisons have been made. The research results, suggestions for other studies to be carried out were presented. It is thought that the determined recommendations will guide the creation of other studies.

The article is devoted to the comprehensive study of the professional information needs (IN) of specialists of the central libraries of the subjects of the Russian Federation. The rapid development of high technologies in the field of accumulation, transmission and processing of information, the creation of modern telecommunications systems have led to the emergence of fundamentally new opportunities for organizing the information process. This, in turn, led to the qualitative growth of IN specialists, including those employed in the field of library activities. The specific features of IN library specialists are determined by their place and role in the modern process of cultural activity, industry orientation, nature of work and specialization. During 2018—2019, the Centre for Research of Problems of the Development of Libraries in the Information Society of the Russian State Library carried out research aimed at comprehensive study of the information needs of cultural workers employed in the library sphere. At the first stage of the research, there was comprehended the existing experience of studying professional information needs in the national library science. At the second stage, using the method of questionnaire survey, information needs of library specialists were studied in order to identify the most rational forms and methods of providing them. The analysis of the survey results made it possible to identify the sources of professional information, to reveal information resources that have the greatest importance and characterize specific features of librarians’ information needs.The author concludes on the need to expand the access to full-text databases and electronic versions of periodicals for library staff. The creation of integrated information centre could help providing library professionals with professional information. Currently, the function of such a centre is performed by the National Electronic Library, which includes the professional section for library specialists. The results of the study form theoretical and methodological basis for the rational use of resources and potential of libraries in providing information to professional information needs of library specialists and determine the prospects for further research related to improving the forms and methods of information service for this category of users.

Background: Patient satisfaction has always been an area of focus for hospitals, but gained particular importance due to the changes in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement policies. Hospital managers and clinicians interact with patients in different ways and have different perspectives on safety culture, yet little is known about how that impacts patient satisfaction.Objective: To examine how the agreement between clinicians and management perspectives on patient safety culture is related to patient satisfaction by employing cross-sectional design with linear regressions.Methods: Two data sets were used: 2012 Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture and 2012 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS). The dependent variables were: overall rating of the hospital experience and willingness to recommend a hospital. The independent variables were four safety culture domains: communication openness, feedback, and communication about errors, teamwork within units, and teamwork between units.Results: The results suggest that manager and clinician agreement on high levels of communication openness, feedback and communication about errors, teamwork between units, and teamwork across units were positively and significantly associated with overall patient satisfaction and willingness to recommend. Additionally, more favorable perceptions about patient safety culture by only clinicians yielded similar findings.Conclusions: For policymakers, measuring managers and clinicians’ perceptions on patient safety culture may provide a valuable indicator of patient satisfaction throughout the country. While managers are more likely to have the power to devote resources to patient safety initiatives, they may not adequately judge culture in their unit and should take into account the perspectives of clinicians who have a more frontline perspective.

Reasons why water storage reservoirs are necessary in accordance with the sustainable development strategy are described in the paper. The main positive and negative impacts of reservoirs on the environment are analyzed. The most important are: the improvement of hydrological regimes (decreasing maximal and increasing minimal flows), the creation of optimal water management, utilization and protection of water, and the creation of better conditions for river and coastal ecosystems. Negative impacts and measures for its mitigation or elimination are also analyzed. The conclusion is that water storage reservoirs can be harmoniously incorporated into the environment. Serbia has a limited number of locations suitable for the construction of reservoirs, therefore it is necessary to retain these areas for storage in regional development plans and other legal acts.

Noonan recently spoke with Cait Allen, MPH, director of Engagement at the Patient Safety Authority, about the Camden Coalition’s efforts to improve care for people with complex health and social needs in in the city of Camden, regionally, and across the country.

Due to the active development of industries using nuclear technology, the creation of highly effective and cost-effective building materials for protection against hazardous ionizing radiation is of increasing interest. Widespread in the field of radiation-protective building materials are barite-containing concrete. The purpose of this article is to establish the prospects of their use in nuclear facilities, as well as to find ways to improve their technical and operational characteristics. For this an analysis of relevant literature and scientific research in the field of radiation-protective materials and, in particular, barite-containing concrete was carried out. The advantages of barite-containing concrete are high radiation-protective properties, environmental friendliness, high density, as well as economic indicators. The disadvantages are high susceptibility to shrinkage deformation and poor resistance to cyclic temperature effects. The addition of barite to the concrete composition allows to increase the coefficient of linear absorption of -rays of the material; also, with the proper selection of the composition, such material may have strength characteristics equal to or superior to the characteristics of concrete with standard compositions. Barite-containing materials have a wide range of applications and can be used both for the production of heavy concrete in the construction of load-bearing structures and in the creation of radiation-protective coatings for walls and floors.

Successful telemetry monitoring relies on timely clinician response to potentially life-threatening cardiac rhythm abnormalities. Breakdowns in the processes and procedures associated with telemetry monitoring, as well as improperly functioning telemetry monitoring equipment, may lead to events that compromise patient safety. An analysis of reports submitted to the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Reporting System (PA-PSRS) from January 2014 through December 2018 identified 558 events specifically involving interruptions or failures associated with telemetry monitoring equipment or with the healthcare providers responsible for setting up and maintaining proper functioning of that equipment. The analysis highlighted a steady increase in the quantity of event reports associated with telemetry monitoring submitted to PA-PSRS. User errors accounted for nearly half (47.1%, 263 of 558) of events in the analysis. The most common event subtypes included: errors involving batteries in telemetry monitoring equipment (14.0%); errors in which patients were not connected to telemetry monitoring equipment as ordered (12.9%); errors involving broken, damaged, or malfunctioning telemetry monitoring equipment (10.9%); and errors in which patients were connected to the wrong telemetry monitoring equipment (9.0%).
