ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the influences of the Vivências e Estágios na Realidade do Sistema Único de Saúde (Brazilian Unified Health System), in the training and performance of nurses. Method: A qualitative study was carried out with 14 nurses who participated in the VER-SUS project in Rio Grande do Sul State. The data were collected through a semi-structured interview technique. The data were analyzed, interpreted and discussed, through the technique of Content Analysis. Results: The categories “VER-SUS Influences on Nursing Training for SUS” and “VER-SUS Contributions for Nurses Performance in the SUS” were highlighted. Final considerations: It was possible to identify the influences of the VER-SUS project in the training and performance of the nursing professionals, pointing out the revision of the Pedagogical Projects of Course and the preparation of the teachers, as a way to carry out the training with emphasis in the Brazilian Unified Health System.

  The objective was to know the perception of the caregiver about the learning needs of care to be performed at home. This is an exploratory descriptive research, with a qualitative approach. Data collection occurred through a semi-structured interview, from August to October 2014, with six caregivers of patients hospitalized in a medium-sized hospital in the municipality of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul State. The data were analyzed by the content analysis method, identifying two categories: The caregiver's perception about the learning needs; The attendance of the caregiver's learning needs. The study showed that the learning based on empirical, instinctive and observational methodologies, without the participation of the nurse in the process. There is need to improve this learning. The participation of the nurse as an educator in the planning, organization and development of the educational action stands out, since he/she is part of the care; however, the caregivers did not visualize this professional.

OBJECTIVE: to understand the contributions of ludic care in nursing by stimulating the acceptance of chemical detoxification from crack on the perception of people in the detoxification process. METHODS: an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach, performed with five people hospitalized for chemical detoxification from crack, from March to July 2013 in a chemical detox unit of a midsize hospital in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. Data was collected using a semi-structured interview and was subjected to content analysis. RESULTS: Two categories emerged: Ludic care in nursing as a stimulus to the acceptance of chemical detoxification; Ludic care in nursing in the promotion for healthy living after chemical detoxification. CONCLUSION: ludic care in nursing proved to enhance the acceptance of chemical detoxification from crack in the reality investigated.

Objetivo: compreender a atuação do enfermeiro no Sistema Único de Saúde frente ao Coronavirus Disease 2019 e sua relação com o processo de formação profissional. Método: trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, cuja produção das informações ocorreu por meio de entrevistas com enfermeiros representantes do ensino, da gestão e da atenção à saúde, protagonistas no enfrentamento da pandemia, em uma Macrorregião do estado de Santa Catarina. A técnica de análise utilizada foi o Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Resultados: emergiram duas Ideias Centrais: (Des)valorização e/ou reconhecimento da atuação da enfermagem no Sistema Único de Saúde frente à Coronavirus Disease 2019; Formação em enfermagem e a Coronavirus Disease 2019: relevância da integração ensino-serviço. Conclusão: revelou a percepção política dos enfermeiros frente a crise de saúde pública agravada pela pandemia e a disposição para fortalecer a defesa dos princípios do Sistema Único de Saúde. Os enfermeiros reconhecem a necessidade de valorização profissional, evidenciada pela crise. Methodology: This is a qualitative study, in which information production occurred through interviews with representing education nurses, management and health care nursing professionals who are on the frontline of the pandemic in a macro-region of Santa Catarina state. The analysis technique used was the Discourse of the Collective Subject. Results: Two main ideas emerged from the groups: the mis-valuation and/or recognition of health professionals with Unified Health System due to Coronavirus Disease 2019; Nurse training programs and Coronavirus Disease 2019: the importance of teaching-service integration. Conclusions:Some nurses’ political perceptions were revealed about the public health crisis resulting from the pandemic, as well as their willingness to strengthen the defense of the Unified Health System principles. The nurses recognize the need for professional enhancement, which emerged with the crisis. Treatment of phenylketonuria (PKU) includes the use of a metabolic formula which should be provided free of charge by the Unified Health System (SUS). This retrospective, observational study sought to characterize judicial channels to obtain PKU treatment in Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil. Lawsuits filed between 2001- 2010 and having as beneficiaries PKU patients requesting treatment for the disease were included. Of 20 lawsuits filed, corresponding to 16.8% of RS patients with PKU, 19 were retrieved for analysis. Of these, only two sought to obtain therapies other than metabolic formula. In all the other 17 cases, prior treatment requests had been granted by the State Department of Health. Defendants included the State (n = 19), the Union (n = 1), and municipalities (n = 4). In 18/19 cases, the courts ruled in favor of the plaintiffs. Violation of the right to health and discontinuation of State-provided treatment were the main reasons for judicial recourse. Unlike other genetic diseases, patients with PKU seek legal remedy to obtain a product already covered by the national pharmaceutical assistance policy, suggesting that management failures are a driving factor for judicialization in Brazil.

Abstract The objective was to analyze the functioning of the referral and counter-referral system for integral care in the Healthcare Network. Qualitative study performed through interviews with 66 participants - managers, workers and users of a town of the state of Bahia, Brazil, and upon approval by the Ethics Committee, opinion number nº 334.737. The material was analyzed using the Content Analysis proposed by Bardin, finished in 2014. Various conceptions of referral and counter-referral were identified, as follows: referral of users, user’s broader view; non-fragmented care; and integral care. For the users, the difficulties and facilities in the flows are concentrated in the Regulation and Scheduling Center and Family Health Units. It is concluded that, to enable the establishment of the network in an integral way, it is necessary to identify important strategies provided by the Unified Health System (SUS) and strengthen these strategies, as well as to identify any drawbacks to remedy them.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the constituent services of the network to combat violence against rural women in municipalities in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul and to analyze the articulation and communication of services in search of the resolution of situations of violence. Method: descriptive-exploratory, qualitative study, carried out through semi-structured interviews with 26 professionals from intersectoral services, as well as managers and/or those responsible for these services. Data were systematized through content analysis. Results: although the professionals collectively discuss and plan coping actions, difficulties were identified in the approximation between services, related to the definition of flow, knowledge of actions/referrals, fear of seeing and reporting violence, understanding that it is not a question of demand of their field of action, and women's access to services. Final considerations: it is evident the need to implement public policies that address the singularities of violence against women in rural settings.

Objective: to understand the meaning of care for nursing technicians who work in the Surgical Center of a general hospitalin the western border of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil. Methods: this is a qualitative research, with an exploratory and descriptiveapproach. The technique used for data collection was a semi-structured interview and notes from the field diary wereavailable for support. The respondents were eight nursing technicians of the Surgical Center. Results: it can be emphasizedthat participants value psychological, social and affective aspects of patients and their families, also expressing a holisticview in regards to caring for themselves or others. Conclusion: in the referred unit, care is an activity involving multipleaspects, patients, families and staff. The meanings valued by professionals reveal detachment from technical aspects to valuepsychological, social and emotional aspects of care.

The aim of the study is to determine experiences of children attending a preschool class and their teacher about class rules, desirable and undesirable behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher concerning these behaviors. The study is a case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The participants were 14 children attending a class for 5 year-olds in an independent kindergarten and the teacher of the class. Semi-structured interview technique was used in the study. In addition, in two of the questions in the interview, the students were asked to draw pictures to help them describe their experiences in more detail. The data in the study were analyzed by content analysis, categorized by coding, and themes and sub-themes were obtained. As a result of the research, it was found that the opinions of the children and their teachers about class rules and undesirable behaviors were in parallel with each other. The study revealed that the experiences of children and the teacher overlap in terms of behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher in response to desirable behaviors. However, it was found that the experiences of children and their teacher differ with regards to the way class rules are determined, and behaviors and strategies followed by the teacher concerning undesirable behaviors.
