Abstract Mercury-based gold exploitation in Amazonian indigenous lands is illegal and leads to socio-environmental impacts. Yanomami people living near mining areas in Uraricoera River are exposed to contamination by mercury, which is a metal with bioaccumulation properties. The aims of the current study are to analyze the interdisciplinary nature of mercury-based placer mining carried out in Yanomami Indigenous Land, Roraima State, as well as to evaluate State agencies’ responses to this phenomenon. Based on bibliographical and documentary survey of qualitative approach, which involved Yanomami’s accounts, as well as police, administrative and judicial procedures implemented from 2013 to 2017, it was possible perceiving intense use of mercury in, and damages caused by, this illicit activity, as well as insufficient state action. There are divergences between protection and responsibilities described in the Brazilian legal system and the herein investigated illegal phenomenon, which violates indigenous rights, as well as scientific and ethical imperatives that can lead to the end of the world and of the Yanomami people.

The advent of geographic information Systems (giS) and global Positioning System (gPS) technology has occasioned a plethora of mapping processes throughout the world concerned with indigenous rights. Yet many of these projects and processes seem to end with the maps, occasionally to the detriment of the people subject to the mapping. this paper argues that mapping is a necessary but insufficient goal if the aim is to further indigenous land and resource rights, especially in a context in which there are many more powerful forces, hostile to the empowerment process. the paper uses the case of the Bosawas international Biosphere reserve to illustrate parallel processes of mapping (with appropriate documentation), protection, political harmonization, institutional strengthening, and appropriate scientific input that have been employed there. All of these processes together have begun to make a difference, and the colonist agricultural frontier that threatens indigenous lands within the reserve has been notably slowed, although secure land and resource rights have continued to evade Nicaragua’s indigenous people.

When Indigenous-led resistance to land- and water-killing projects threatens extraction, settler-colonial state and corporate institutions use security mechanisms to eliminate such “threats.” Using as case studies the pipeline conflicts of the Wet’suwet’en Nation’s (especially Unist’ot’en Camp’s) resistance to Coastal GasLink (CGL) in British Columbia (BC), Canada, and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) in North Dakota, United States (US), this paper explores how fossil-fuel extraction interacts with critical infrastructure (CI) securitization to further Indigenous land dispossession. I argue that although the Wet’suwet’en and Standing Rock cases both involved the state and corporations criminalizing Indigenous resistance to extraction—to uphold fossil-fuel capital interests—the Wet’suwet’en case is unique because Canadian actors attempted to pacify resistance through symbolic appeals to Indigenous rights. Indigenous communities across the world are violently oppressed for peacefully defending their water, land, and communities. However, the motives and strategies of violence are unique for every colonial jurisdiction exercising violence, and for every Indigenous community impacted. I compare and contrast the rationales and strategiesof both cases through an in-depth content analysis of passages from TigerSwan surveillance and BC Supreme Court injunction documents. I discuss my findings within theoretical debates on dispossession and securitization.

Background and Purpose The aim of this study was to clarify patients’ experiences of breathing during therapeutic processes in Norwegian psychomotor physical therapy (NPMP). Subjects and Methods A qualitative approach was used based on interviews with 9 women and 1 man aged between 41 and 65 years. The data were analyzed with the aid of grounded theory. Results Three categories were identified from the participants’ experiences: (1) “Breathing: An Incomprehensible and Disparate Phenomenon,” (2) “Breathing: Access to Meaning and Understanding,” and (3) “Breathing: Enhancing Feelings of Mastery.” Initially, breathing difficulties and bodily pains were described as physical reactions that seemed utterly incomprehensible to the participants. Communication, both verbal and nonverbal, between the patient and the physical therapist was described as vitally important, as was conscious attention to occurrences during the treatment sessions. The participants learned to recognize changes in their breathing patterns, and they became familiar with new bodily sensations. Consequently, they acquired new understanding of these sensations. The feeling and understanding of being an entity (ie, “body and soul”) emerged during therapy. The participants increased their understanding of the interaction between breathing and internal and external influences on their well-being. Their feelings of mastery over their daily lives were enhanced. The therapeutic dialogues gave them the chance to explore, reflect, and become empowered. Discussion and Conclusion In experiencing their own breathing, the participants were able to access and identify the muscular and emotional patterns that, linked to particular thoughts and beliefs, had become their characteristic styles of relating to themselves and the world.

<p class="1Body">The purpose of this paper is to provide a perspective view pertaining to Malaya Patriotic Fund Poster Stamp which had been used in Malaya during the World War II period. It focuses on the developing a pool of information concerning the denomination, illustration, dimension, color, perforation and design details of the stamps from two main newspapers between the periods of 1939 and 1940. The objective of this study is to arrange and group information about the stamps using content analysis. This study deals with the qualitative approach to this poster stamp in developing a literature review. The findings show that 11 articles from the two newspapers matched with objective of the study. The findings are considered to create a roadmap to design a detail study for exploring Malaya Patriotic Fund Poster in the context of British Colony and World War II.</p>

Generasi milenial adalah salah satu kelompok yang dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan teknologi yang serba instan, bahkan peran penting generasi milenial sudah mulai surut tergantikan oleh kemajuan teknologi. Menghadapi tantangan tersebut diperlukan solusi yang solutif yaitu mengimplementasikan model pemuridan kontekstual sebagai panggilan pelayanan terhadap generasi milenial di era industri 4.0, sehingga membentuk generasi milenial supaya beridentitas Kristen dan bertumbuh menjadi dewasa dalam iman. Pendekatan yang dilakukan adalah dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang melibatkan studi pustaka. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa model pemuridan kontekstual layak dijadikan pedoman dalam mengarahkan para generasi milenial di era indutri 4.0 agar mampu bertahan (survive) dalam perkembangan zaman yang semakin canggih.Kata kunci : Pemuridan, Kontekstual, Panggilan Pelayanan, Generasi Milenial, Revolusi Industri 4.0ABSTRACT - The current global globalization can not be dammed anymore its existence in the country of Indonesia. Millennials have become one of those groups influenced by the development of instantaneous technology, even the important role of millennials has begun to subside replaced by technological advances. Facing these challenges requires a solution that is to implement a model of contextual discipleship as a service call to millennials in the industrial era 4.0, thus forming millennial generations so that Christian identity and growing into adulthood in the faith. The approach taken is a qualitative approach that involves the study of literature. Banjar people known as nomads and merchants in his life is famous for the principle that formed the character of the Banjar. Through the values contained in the philosophy/life principle of the Banjar people who can then be integrated into the world of education, one of which is historical education. The meaning and value of local wisdom existing in the community has a goal to increase learners to be able to develop their attributes derived from wisdom and local history of society, possessed the skill in understanding the society in the life of the process and possessing the characteristics and attitudes that are in line with the value of local wisdom. Amid the onslaught of technology and practicality of life offered, later emerged an approach that tried to highlight the local wisdom owned by the region, especially South Kalimantan. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the value of the urban life of Banjar philosophy and its integration in learning history as a form of cultural endurance. The method used in this writing that is with a qualitative approach and data collection is done by library study by collecting the relevant literature with this paper.

The paper discusses possibilities and ways of studying concepts in teaching foreign languages to students-interpreters. The author notes that modern didactic research has interdisciplinary nature, analyzes the theory of the concept from the point of view of linguistics, cultural studies and psycholinguistics. The author also notes the fact of creation of linguo-conceptodidactics as a new scientific direction. The paper presents a linguodidactic understanding of the concept, analyzes its structure and semantic content. The author describes in detail the process of foreign language concepts acquisition and presents it as a sequence of several stages. The acquisition of foreign language concepts is associated with the development of concept competence. The paper notes that the acquisition of foreign language concepts should go in parallel with the acquisition of foreign language lexis. In addition, it is necessary to use authentic materials in teaching foreign languages that allows forming a conceptual picture of the world of native speakers. Acquisition of foreign language concepts is especially important for students-interpreters who study several foreign languages and are faced with the problem of translating foreign concepts and phenomena of foreign language reality. The paper presents how conceptuality can be realized in teaching foreign languages. The author gives a practical example of studying the English concept Travel, offers examples of exercises and tasks for mastering it, as well as mnemonic techniques for memorizing lexemes that represent the concept. In the paper is stressed, that the concepts should be included in the content of foreign language teaching to students-interpreters. This contributes to the development of correct ideas about foreign language reality, understanding the facts of the native and foreign language culture, i.e. cultural reflection development.

Diniyah education has been implemented by all educational institutions in Indonesia, starting from the lowest level, namely SD/MI to SMA/MA. Initially this diniyah education was implemented in Islamic boarding schools during the month of Ramadan. The aim is to foster morals, character, and strengthen worship for students during the month of Ramadan. The purpose of this study was to identify the role of diniyah education carried out in the world of education during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method is a literature study method with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the role of diniyah education can be measured through 4 things, namely increasing student religiosity, developing sustainable education and in accordance with the development of the times, being patient with calamities, and increasing husnuzon attitudes in students.

O artigo apresenta a metodologia criada e experimentada para o planejamento participativo de produtos turísticos em terras indígenas e os principais resultados de sua aplicação. O turismo foi identificado pelos indígenas como uma atividade econômica alternativa ao desmatamento durante o desenvolvimento dos Planos de Gestão Territorial na Terra Indígena Sete de Setembro (RO/MT) do Povo Paiter-Suruí e na Terra Indígena Nove de Janeiro (AM) do Povo Parintintin. Com o objetivo de propor princípios e procedimentos para visitação turística ordenada, o processo de planejamento participativo buscou garantir que, além de ser uma alternativa economicamente viável, o turismo seja também um instrumento de resgate e valorização cultural, que respeita a diversidade, mitos, cosmovisão e modo de vida atual indígena. A metodologia utilizada para o desenvolvimento dos produtos turísticos envolveu uma série de atividades como oficinas de turismo, intercâmbio, inventários, planejamento de roteiros, propostas de infraestrutura e estudos de mercado específicos para cada uma das etnias. Como resultado obteve-se propostas de operações turísticas viáveis e adequadas ao mercado, mas que também atendem às expectativas e possibilidades dos indígenas. Estas experiências também resultaram em uma metodologia de desenvolvimento de produtos turísticos estruturada na relação entre o saber científico e tradicional, portanto em uma dinâmica participativa, que poderá contribuir para a regulamentação da atividade turística em Terras Indígenas, adequando-se à Política Nacional de Gestão Ambiental e Territorial Indígena. Participative development of tourism products in indigenous lands located in the brazilian Amazon ABSTRACT The article presents the methodology created and experimented for participative planning applied in the development of tourism products in indigenous lands and the principal results obtained. During the development process of the Territorial Management Plans for the Sete de Setembro Indigenous Land, belonging to Paiter-Suruí People (States of Roraima and Mato Grosso) and for the Nove de Janeiro Indigenous Land, belonging to Parintintin People (Amazonas State), tourism was identified by the indigenous peoples themselves as being a viable alternative economic activity to deforestation. With the aim of proposing standards and procedures for organized guided tours, this project sought to guarantee that, in addition to representing a viable economic alternative, tourism should also function as a means of valuing and reviving traditional indigenous culture, in a way that respects the diversity, mythology, worldview and the way of life of tribal peoples today. The methodology of development of tourism products involved a series of activities, such as tourism workshops, interchange, register, planning tourist routes, proposals related to infrastructure and market studies specifically designed for each ethnic group. The results of this work are proposes of viable tourism operations, those also fulfils the expectations and possibilities of the Indigenous peoples themselves. These experiences resulted in a methodology of developing tourism products based on a relationship between scientific and traditional knowledge, consequently using a participative approach, which may be useful when regulating tourism activities in Tribal Lands, in accordance with Brazil’s National Policy for the Territorial and Environmental Management of Indigenous Lands.
