This study examines the pedagogical training process of medical professors at a Brazilian university, the meanings attributed to it, and the positive and negative aspects identified in it. This is a descriptive-exploratory study, using a qualitative approach with a questionnaire utilizing open-ended and closed questions and a semi-structured interview. The majority of queried individuals had no formal teacher training and learned to be teachers through a process of socialization that was in part intuitive or by modeling those considered to be good teachers; they received pedagogical training mainly in post-graduate courses. Positives aspects of this training were the possibility of refresher courses in pedagogical methods and increased knowledge in their educational area. Negative factors were a lack of practical activities and a dichotomy between theoretical content and practical teaching. The skills acquired through professional experience formed the basis for teaching competence and pointed to the need for continuing education projects at the institutional level, including these skills themselves as a source of professional knowledge.

The aim of this study was to analyze the meanings and experiences of early contact and breastfeeding of the postpartum women admitted at a Baby-Friendly Hospital. It is a descriptive, exploratory study, with qualitative approach, that was developed in a teaching hospital in the Northwest of Paraná state between November 2011 and January 2012, involving the participation of 16 postpartum women. Data were collected by means of non-participant systematic observation of the childbirths and semi-structured interview. The data collected were analyzed using the thematic content analysis. The results revealed that, soon after childbirth, the child-mother binomial provided the woman with a unique experience, triggering various sensations into the bio-psycho-social-cultural context of each one of the mothers, with feelings and meanings that favored the mother-child bond and the outset of breastfeeding.

Abstract Objective: To analyze training in integrated health care for the elderly from the perspective of nursing students. Method: A descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach was carried out using the action research method with the participation of 24 nursing students from a university center in Piauí, Brazil. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and submitted to content analysis. Results: Two thematic categories emerged: Perspectives on aging, violence and sexuality and A holistic approach to the elderly: integrating training and care. Conclusion: The perspective of the students on integrated care for the elderly is fragmented, stemming from the limitations of the training process for such care.

Objective: To analyze the perceptions of colorectal cancer patients using colostomy on the nursing care of the oncology inpatient units of a hospital in western Santa Catarina. Methods: Descriptive-exploratory study of qualitative approach carried out in the oncology inpatient units of the Hospital Regional do Oeste, in the period from January to August 2020, through a questionnaire containing sociodemographic data and semi-structured interview, applied to 20 patients with colorectal cancer using colostomy. The data were analyzed using Laurence Bardin’s Content Analysis. Results: The results indicated a prevalence of colostomy male patients, with a mean age of 60.25 years, married, retired, and with incomplete elementary education. From the qualitative analysis of the interviews emerged the category: patients’ perceptions of nursing care, which was subdivided into: nursing care with the bag and the stoma and nursing care during hospitalization. Conclusion: At the end of the survey, it is concluded that the colostomy patients perceive that the nursing staff performs the essential care of the bag and the stoma, including its exchange and hygiene during hospitalization, meeting the patients’ needs. In addition, they provide important guidance on the use of the devices, promoting health education.

Approaching the knowledge of professionals of a multidisciplinary residency program in health contributes to the reflection and analysis of knowledge, with reflexes in the structuring of educational responses aimed at strengthening the effective movement of health promotion in this training modality. This study aimed to understand the knowledge that professionals in a multidisciplinary residency have about health promotion and know the perceptions that they have about the contributions of the residency training process for health promotion practices. This is an exploratory study with qualitative approach, carried out in the context of Integrated Health Residency Program of the School of Public Health of Ceará-ESP-EC, Ceará State, Brazil. Sixteen professionals who had been trained in the program were interviewed. Data from interviews were organized according to content analysis technique and with the support of ATLAS.ti software. Two categories were raised: 1) Health promotion: from information to empowerment; and 2) Multiple training moments: contributions to health promotion practices in Multidisciplinary Residency in Health. The knowledge of residents, inferred from the speeches, sometimes assumed a posture congruent with the theoretical-conceptual international principles of health promotion, strengthening its effectiveness in the country through the Multidisciplinary Residency in Health as a training modality, and sometimes revealed features still related only to the prevention of diseases. Residents demonstrated to be aware of the need to overcome the hegemonic model that considers health professionals as the sole holders of knowledge.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of simulation-based training model in terms of improving managerial competence among madrasah heads. The research was intended to the training participants on Substantive Technical Training to Strengthening Madrasah Heads since October 2019 - February 2020 with the cooperation of Bandung Religious Training Center, stakeholders and professional organization. Data collection techniques were conducted by tests (pre and post-test), questionnaire, observation, and structured interview. Data analysis is executed using qualitative approach. The results have shown that the training in the perspective of the process and results carried out effectively, with the average score 85 or competent. The aspect of training process resulted 89.9 or effective, and simulation-based training model application demonstrated score 90.2 which means also effective.Keywords: Simulation Model; Madrasah Head Training; Managerial Competence

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the attitudes of the community people towards health and environmental hazards of tanneries in Dhaka city of Bangladesh. 200 community people were selected as respondents. A semi-structured interview guide was used to collect relevant data. It was an exploratory study following qualitative approach. The findings of the study revealed all of the community people at Hazaribagh felt that their environment is being seriously polluted by tanneries. Most of them suffered from skin disease, allergy, diarrhea, asthma, typhoid, head ache and fever. They have been seriously suffering while moving from one place to another. They mentioned tanneries are responsible for extreme pollution of the Buriganga River. The majority of the respondents think that tanneries should move from Hazaribagh & relocate at any industrial area.

ABSTRACTObjective: to know the experience of the paternity in the adolescence. Methodology: this is about a descriptive and exploratory study from qualitative approach, accomplished in the months of September and October 2008, in a gynecological and obstetric clinic of a teaching hospital in a city of Rio Grande do Sul state. The subjects were two adolescent parents that answered the semi-structured interview. For organization of the results the thematic analysis was used. The study was approved by the Ethics in Research number 2008/54 of the Universidade Católica de Pelotas. Results: It was verified that the adolescent parents lived an ambiguity of feelings front to the paternity. The responsibility was attributed and told as the significance of the paternity and the concern to provide the sustenance of the new family. Conclusion: the existence of the paternity in the adolescence generated significant changes in the daily of the adolescent. Like this, it is noticed the need of the services of health provide larger attention to the adolescent parents and the importance of strengthening the publication of other studies focused on this theme, because there is a lack of knowledge about the subject. Metodologia: pesquisa qualitativa, descritiva, exploratória, realizada nos meses de setembro e outubro de 2008, em uma clínica ginecológica e obstétrica de um hospital de ensino de uma cidade do Rio Grande do Sul no Brasil. Os sujeitos foram pais adolescentes que no período de coleta responderam entrevista semi-estruturada. Os dados foram avaliados utilizando-se análise temática. O projeto do estudo foi encaminhado ao Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade Católica de Pelotas, recebendo Parecer favorável conforme Protocolo nº 2008/54. Resultados: constatou-se que os pais adolescentes vivenciaram uma ambiguidade de sentimentos frente à paternidade. A responsabilidade foi atribuída e relatada como a significação da paternidade e a preocupação para prover o sustento da nova família. Conclusão: a vivência da paternidade na adolescência gerou mudanças significativas no cotidiano do adolescente. Assim, percebe-se a necessidade dos serviços de saúde proporcionarem maior atenção aos pais adolescentes, bem como a importância de reforçar a publicação de outros estudos voltados para essa temática, pois existe uma lacuna de conhecimento acerca do tema. Resultados: Se encontró que los padres adolescentes experimentaron una sensación ambigua hacia la paternidad. La responsabilidad fue atribuida y relatada como la importancia de la paternidad y la preocupación en proporcionar el sustento de la nueva familia. Conclusión: La experiencia de la paternidad en la adolescencia genero a cambios significativos en el cotidiano del adolescente. Por lo tanto, se nota la necesidad de los servicios de salud en proporcionar mayor atención a los padres adolescentes y la importancia de fortalecer la publicación de otros estudios dedicados a este tema, porque hay una falta de conocimiento sobre el tema. ABSTRACT Objective: to investigate health professionals' knowledge about the concept, assessment and intervention in fatigue in children and adolescents with cancer. Method: exploratory study with qualitative approach, with 53 health professionals (10 nurses, 33 assistant nurses, 3 physicians, 3 nutritionists, 2 psychologists and 2 physical therapists). Semi structured interviews were held, which were recorded and analyzed by means of inductive thematic content analysis. Results: the data were organized around three themes: knowledge of health professionals about fatigue; identification of fatigue and interventions to relieve fatigue. Conclusion: the results indicate the health professionals' limited knowledge about fatigue, as well as the lack of investment in their training and continuing education. Most of all, the lack of research on the theme in the Brazilian context remains a barrier to support improvements in care for this symptom in children and adolescents with cancer.

Neste estudo, analisa-se a formação pedagógica do Curso de Licenciatura em Letras da Universidade Federal do Maranhão, no campus do Bacanga, com sede em São Luís. A tessitura dessa pesquisa baseia-se na abordagem qualitativa, mais precisamente no estudo de caso. Fez-se uso da entrevista semiestruturada, enquanto instrumento metodológico, com alunos dos dois últimos períodos e professores das disciplinas pedagógicas. Como técnica de tratamento e análise de dados, fez-se uso da análise de conteúdo. As representações dos sujeitos da pesquisa apontam algumas fragilidades na formação pedagógica, mas com uma perspectiva de mudança, para que o Curso se fortaleça enquanto Licenciatura e para que a formação pedagógica ganhe um lugar de destaque.Palavras-chave: Formação docente. Objetivou-se identificar fatores que interferem no processo de ensinagem do docente em um curso de graduação de uma instituição privada. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa, que foi realizado numa Instituição de Ensino Superior, localizada na cidade de Caruaru-PE. O estudo pontuou fatores positivos que interferem na ensinagem como o aprimoramento e experiência profissional, bem como, percebeu-se a eficácia do processo de ensinagem através da participação discente e da articulação teoria-prática. Com relação às dificuldades, a falta de interesse dos discentes, a alta carga horária, a escassez de tempo para o aprimoramento profissional e as exigências do mercado de trabalho, foram elencadas pelos docentes como principais desafios. Para ocorrer mudanças necessárias na ensinagem contemporânea, faz-se necessário um maior esclarecimento das demandas docentes, seus desafios e dificuldades, bem como, um aperfeiçoamento contínuo deste profissional e uma reorganização nas estratégias de ensino.Challenges in the process of teaching and learning: Study in the faculty of perspective of a graduate courseAbstract: This study aimed to identify factors that interfere with the educational teaching process in an undergraduate degree from a private institution. It is a descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach, which was carried out in a higher education institution, located in Caruaru-PE. The study pointed out positive factors that interfere with teaching and learning as the improvement and professional experience as well, it was noticed the effectiveness of the teaching process through student participation and theory-practice articulation. Regarding the difficulties, the lack of interest of students, the high workload, shortage of time for professional development and the demands of the labor market, were listed by teachers as major challenges. Changes needed to occur in contemporary teaching and learning, it is necessary to further clarification of the demands teachers, their challenges and difficulties as well as a continuous improvement of this professional and a reorganization in teaching strategies.
