This study aims to understand the experience of adolescents with cancer, family and the health team regarding death in the healthcare context, in the light of Edgar Morin's proposed theoretical framework of complexity. Participants were 12 adolescents, 14 relatives and 25 health professionals. The interview was used for data collection. The discussion of data was guided by the dialogic life-death in the context of care to adolescents with cancer. It was observed that the singularity in the way the adolescent experiences time and faces death and the possibility that the family will lose a loved one may not be in accordance with the care the health team offers, considering structural, organizational and affective aspects. It is not enough for the team just to rationally make choices on the use of diagnostic-therapeutic devices, in line with predefined moments in the disease. Instead, a contextualized and sensitive understanding of each situation is needed.

This is a qualitative research, in which was used, for the data collection, eight focus groups, with a total of 43 participants. The data were submitted to content analysis. The results outlined the following categories: integrating NASF work with the Family Health Teams (ESF); developing specialized care; promoting intersectionality; contributing to the promotion of teamwork in Primary Care (AB) and strengthening AB. The study indicates the importance of a better understanding of the functions of the NASF, so that it does not restrict the opportunity to perform specialized care in AB. It is pointed out, the need for adjustments in the work processes of the ESF, in order to enable the shared work in the AB.

Introduction A disease of a loved one constitutes a serious disturbance in the functioning of many families. Meeting expectations of patients’ families is seen as an element conditioning the level of satisfaction from the care provided in hospital. Aim The aim of this study was to investigate the expectations of families of people hospitalized in the Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Material and methods The study was carried out in ICUs in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship. The study was performed by diagnostic survey using the questionnaire technique. In total 104 people were surveyed. Results and Discussion The highest ranking expectation of the patient’s loved ones was that of trust towards the staff diagnosing and treating the patient as well as the staff nursing them. Then there came: the feeling of ensuring the best care possible for the patient, obtaining information about the patient’s health, education on the way the unit functions, staying at the patient’s bedisde in the ICU. Lower in the ranking were the importance of having access to the family zone amenities, the opportunity of sharing their problems with others or receiving psychological and pastoral care. Conclusions The most important need of visitors to the ICU is to obtain assurance that the patient is provided the best care possible. As the second most important need, the respondents mentioned the need to be close to the patient and easiness of obtaining information about their health condition provided by the doctor.

Child abuse within the family sphere is often a hidden crime phenomenon because it is kept secret by both the perpetrator and the victim. This article seeks to uncover the practice of child abuse in labor families in Geneng, Jepara, identify the causes, and offer solutions. The data collection used interview, observation, and documentation. The key informants are children, parents who work as laborers, and the Head of Geneng Village. The collected data is then analyzed using descriptive qualitative research from the perspective of Islamic education theory. Doctrinaire, Islam never allows parents to behave rudely to children. Unfortunately, not a few of those who fail to understand and become perpetrators of child abuse. The forms are varied, ranging from psychological violence such as insults, insults, and shouting. The main causes are family economic poverty factors and poor understanding of parents' religion. The way out for parents who are busy working is to get their children in Madrasah Diniyah (Madin). No less important, after Maghrib, children are encouraged to take part in studies conducted by local religious teachers around their homes.

This article describes three exemplars that depict the meaningful practices associated with caring for the dying. The exemplars are illustrative of the way culture shapes our attitudes toward dying and the practices adopted by groups that assist them to make sense of their world. Acknowledging these practices enables health professionals to provide interventions that support the dying and their family within their own cultural network. Acceptance of the cultural practices displayed by the family unit allows for the expression of grieving behaviors and has the potential to contribute to the peaceful death of the individual. The provision of quality palliative care is enhanced when health professionals acknowledge the significance that culture plays in the meaningful practices associated with the dying process.

The Australian health care delivery system is reviewed in this article, with special comment on the implications of the financial components of the system and government concerns regarding costs and over-servicing. General practitioners' perception of their role is not significantly different from the expectation of patients, yet the reality may not match the idealized view. There are problems related to availability and there are developments which seem to pose some threat to the continuing care of patients. New developments have occurred in the way in which practice is organized which give an emphasis to continual availability over 24 hour periods, and these developments pose a challenge to the way in which doctors have organized their practices. Population features-Aborigines, migrants, and the elderly-present significant problems that are not always well met, and the concept of total patient care thereby suffers. The general practitioner's apparent failure to fill the expected role in co-ordination of services is discussed, as is the need for general practitioners to become more actively involved in health education and promotion. The hope for the future lies in the Family Medicine Programme of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, which represents a major attempt to provide appropriate vocational training for general practice.

ABSTRACT Objective: To unveil the resilience process in family caregivers of people with malignant neoplasia. Method: Descriptive and qualitative research performed between September and November of 2017 in a Brazilian Unit of High Complexity Care in Oncology. Individual interviews and four focus groups were conducted with 29 family caregivers. Socio-constructivist methodology was used under Vygotsky's perspective, the theoretical framework of the construction of the resilience processes, besides the hybrid model of thematic analysis. Results: Three thematic categories emerged: "feelings revealed through colors"; "practice of care and communication in the process of resilience" and "faith and hope in the process of resilience". The family caregivers organized themselves to provide support to their family member with malignant neoplasia and they faced, in a more consolidated way, the overwhelming transformations imposed by the disease. Conclusion and implications for practice: The guidelines made by health professionals were paramount in the process of family caregivers' resilience, in addition to emotional support and spirituality. The communication with health professionals is essential in the coping of family caregivers when dealing with problems or conflicts, since there is better conduction in the process of illness of the loved one, when there is greater knowledge and understanding of the disease.
