The development of trade, economic and investment ties with the APR countries is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation. China has traditionally been Russia’s leading foreign trade partner, and Russian-Chinese foreign trade cooperation has a positive dynamic of development. At the same time, despite the growth of foreign trade turnover between countries, export supplies of raw materials from Russia, as well as import of finished industrial products from China, prevail in the commodity structure of foreign trade turnover between countries, which makes it very vulnerable to external factors. The paper examines the main trends in Russia’s foreign trade with China in 2015-2019. Conclusions are made about the most promising areas of bilateral cooperation.

The aim of the article is to identify the most important changes in Polish foreign trade in agri-food products with the Russian Federation in the years 2006-2015. To verify these shifts, changes over time and the structure of foreign trade in agri-food products in 2006-2015 were analyzed. The value of Poland's foreign trade turnover with Russia, the turnover balance and the share of agri-food products in trade were presented. The value of imports and exports in the categories of agri-food product groups and the dynamics of the import and export of agri-food products was also presented. The article is the result of the analysis of literature and statistical studies. Data from the Statistical Yearbook of Foreign Trade was used. Trade exchange of agri-food products is characterized by an advantage of exports from Poland to Russia. The value of trading these products was reduced after the restrictions of the Russian Federation in 2014 on the import of these products from the EU. The dynamics of exports to Russia were dependent on the category of products. The most significant changes were related to products of plant and animal origin, because their exports depended on trade barriers resulting from the geopolitical situation. To improve Polish-Russian economic and trade relations, Russia must accept EU standards for the production and veterinary and phytosanitary certification of agri-food products.

The paper analyzes transformations of foreign trade in goods of Ukraine in 2000-2017. The choice of the study period is due to the fact that the "recovery" and the gradual growth of the Ukrainian economy after the long crisis of the 1990s has began since 2000. Ukraine had a mostly negative foreign commercial balance (except for 2000-2004 and 2015); generally balanced foreign trade; dangerous import dependency ratio; extremely economy openness index; the high exports ratio in 2000-2017. The volumes of export, imports and foreign commercial turnover had unstable dynamics with negative trends in 2008-2009 and 2013-2015. Base metals and their ware; plant products; animal or plant fats and oils were prevailed in the export component of the foreign commerce; mineral products; machines, equipment and mechanisms, electric and technical equipment; products of chemical and derivative industries were dominant in the structure of import in 2017. The export was characterized by increase in the share of products of the primary sector (due to crop production) and decrease in the secondary sector (due to metallurgy, machine building, chemical and textile industry) during 2001-2017. The import was characterized by decrease in the share of raw materials and increase in the share of all other goods during the mentioned period. Commodity structure of foreign trade became more proportional, without a highly dominant product. The Russian Federation, Poland, Turkey, Italy, India were the key partners in the export of goods, while those ones in the import were the Russian Federation, China, Germany, Poland, Belarus. The key partners remained during 2001-2017 (the Russian Federation, Poland, Turkey, Italy, China, Germany were key partner in export; In the import - the Russian Federation, Germany, Poland, Belarus, the USA, Italy were key partner in import. Despite the drastic decrease in trade relations with the Russian Federation, it remains the largest partner in the Ukrainian foreign commerce. Among the regions of the world, the largest trading partner of Ukraine in recent years is Europe with relevant reduction of CIS countries in the common share. It is necessary to provide a set of measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of export activity and import substitution in the certain sectors of the economy to balance foreign commerce of Ukraine.

Development model based on the export of raw materials and high dependence on external economic conditions are among the main strategic threats to the national security of the Russian Federation in the field of economy. So, a number of states, not without reason, are trying to realize these threats in order to achieve their geopolitical goals by imposing different restrictions, various prohibitions and multiple sanctions. Some results of the analysis of the impact of the anti-Russian sanctions on the Russian foreign trade in 2014-2016 I present in this article. For the sphere of foreign trade, it is shown that the negative impact of prohibitions and sanctions, as well as adverse external and unfavourable internal processes and factors, had a greater impact, first of all, on the fuel and energy, petrochemical and machine-building complexes. The subjects of the Russian Federation with a high concentration of export and import, oil and gas extraction and metal-production were affected stronger than other regions. Along with this, the impact of sanctions and the response of the Russian government are stronger on the export of Russian products than on imports.

Based on econometric modeling, we proved the good relationship between foreign trade turnover and trade balance with the GDP of the Russian Federation. We identified the varying opinions of the Russian and foreign scholars on the impact of sanctions and countersanctions on the Russian economy. Based on the data on the absolute values of the trade turnover, export, import, and trade balance of Russia from 2010 to 2018, we revealed the positive dynamics of these indices, despite their negative values in 2014-2016. This allowed making a conclusion that the overall results of imposing sanctions and countersanctions for the Russian trade turnover and trade balance is rather positive than negative. This refutes the statements of western politicians, representatives of their subordinate international organizations, and some Russian and foreign scholars about the definitely negative role of sanctions and countersanctions. As a result, it is proposed to review the prospects of imposing additional countersanctions on western countries, which would allow developing the non-food sectors of the Russian economy.

The article examines the present-day specificity and prospects of developing foreign trade ties of the Republic of Buryatia with Peoples Republic of China which currently is a major foreign trade partner of the region. It presents the statistic data on dynamics of volumes and main trends in changes of the export-import operations structure of the Republic of Buryatia. The Republic of Buryatia is an export-oriented entity of the Russian Federation, however, in the sales structure of the regions export a major share is made up by groups of raw materials; coal, round wood and timber, while deliveries of engineering products are irregular in nature. Development of the foreign trade of the Republic of Buryatia with China is connected with maintaining a large share of engineering products in export, as well as by increasing the volume of the finished product export, first of all, by creating new industries aimed at processing the mineral resources mined on the territory of the region.

The analysis of changes in the structure of exports of agricultural products of the Republic to the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the rest of the world. The main agricultural products occupying significant shares in the structure of export of the Republic are determined. For the analysis, a statistical review of the dynamics of foreign trade in agricultural products over the last five years is presented. The analysis of indicators of production of agricultural products, as well as the share of manufactured products for export (Simić, Stankov, 2020).   The study confirmed that the share of agricultural exports in the overall structure of the country's exports is insignificant. A significant part of the exported agricultural products are directed to the CIS countries and neighboring countries. A significant part of the export of agricultural products falls on cereals. The share of this category of goods in the total income from exports of food and agricultural raw materials is 90 percent. Thus, exports and foreign trade in agricultural products in General are a source of growth of the agricultural economy for the country, the external factor is important to take into account when building forecasts of economic growth and modeling the economic policy of the country in the field of agriculture.
