Preschool teachers play a very important but highly sensitive role in preschool children’s play. It is therefore very important to build their play competences in a quality way. As this is not easily achieved, the main objective of the present study was to analyse the roles of students of preschool education in children’s play. The study included 36 students enrolled at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka, Croatia. Through a qualitative analysis of the students’ preparations for their practice, it was determined that the majority of students use didactic play and play with rules with children. Although the students demonstrated the expected role in children’s play, which positively influenced the educational work and the overall well-being of the children, some of the students were not decisive. Thus, the question arises as to how to improve the acquisition of play competences in students of preschool education.

Today's society is characterized by the expansion of scientific and technological development, leading to changes in the conception of educational work at all levels of education. The integration of digital technology is aimed at modernizing the education system. In practice, however, even the best designed media tools can quite often prove to have numerous drawbacks. Consequently, there is a need for empirical research into the educational value of digital learning tools. In view of the fact that, apart from parents, preschool teachers are the most important mediators between children and contemporary ICT devices, the aim of our study was to explore preschool teachers' perceptions of the risks and potential negative influences of computer games on children's development, behavior and learning. Teachers' attitudes were analyzed in relation to their educational level, place of work, age, and years of service, in order to identify tendencies linked to changes in the research sample structure. A quantitative approach to result analysis was employed, with a tabular and graphical presentation of the obtained data. Research results suggest teachers believe that excessive use of computer games at preschool level is accompanied by addiction, aggressive thoughts, feelings and insensitivity to scenes of violence in the real world. In contrast, teachers believe that social isolation, passivity, a decline in children's creativity and adverse effects on their physical health are not an inevitable consequence of the excessive use of computer games. As regards statistically significant differences in teachers' attitudes, the results indicate that an increase in the number of years of service and educational level is linked to increased perceptions of the drawbacks relative to the benefits of using computer games. Teachers' place of work is not statistically significant in determining their attitudes to the potential risks of using computer games.

SummaryCognitive theories of social phobia have largely been inspired by the information-processing models of anxiety. They propose that cognitive biases can, at least partially, explain the etiology and maintenance of this disorder. A specific bias, conceived as a tendency to preferentially process socially-threatening information, has been proposed. This bias is thought to intervene in cognitive processes such as attention, memory and interpretation. Research paradigms adopted from experimental cognitive psychology and social psychology have been used to investigate these hypotheses. The existence of a bias in the allocation of attentional resources and the interpretation of information seems to be confirmed. A memory bias in terms of better retrieval for threat-relevant information appears to depend on specific encoding activities.

This research was carried out with the aim of examining the impact of communication training based on ‘from the child to mother approach’ on the communication of the mothers with their children attending mobile preschools. The sample comprised 80 children attending mobile preschool and mothers of those children. Two of the five neighborhoods served by the mobile preschool were designated randomly as experiment groups and the remaining as control groups. There were 33 children and mothers in the experimental group and 47 in the control group. The data was collected by General Information Form and Parent-Child Communication Evaluation Tool. During the course of the research, the Communication Training Program prepared by the researcher and based on the Child to Mother Approach was applied to the experimental group for two days in a week during eight weeks. In order to examine the impact of Communication Training Program on mother-child communication, t-test was conducted for both the independent group and the dependent group. Statistical significance was set at .05. As a result of the analyses, it has been determined that the Communication Training Program has a positive effect on communication between mothers and children and this effect is permanent. The subject of the article is the preparation of future reserve officers for educational work. The training of reserve officers is carried out by the military departments of higher education institutions of Ukraine. The article contains information that citizens of Ukraine undergo military training on a voluntary basis who have or receive a higher education degree at least a bachelor's degree, fit for military service for health reasons and moral and business qualities. Citizens can undergo military training, subject to the correspondence of the specialties that they or for which they are trained in the institution of higher education, the military accounting specialty, in which the training of reserve officers is carried out. The leading feature of the military professional activity of a military leader is the dominant professional orientation, which manifests itself in an orientation toward working with personnel and active interpersonal interaction, toward organizing activities, toward tough interaction with the enemy. In this regard, the officer must have a broad developed practical thinking and managerial competence. The article presents the components of its formation and demonstrates the ways to achieve it: information-analytical component of training future reserve officers; the formation of the communicative competence of future reserve officers; the use of computer technology in training reserve officers for educational work; individualization of training. The information and analytical component of the training of future reserve officers provides for: 1) information and presentation meetings of candidates for training under the training program for reserve officers with officers of the military commissariat; 2) professional excursions and to military units of candidates for training under the training program for reserve officers, in which potential applicants can communicate with platoon commanders and company commanders, get acquainted with the daily activities of the platoon; 3) self-testing of potential applicants for professional self-determination and readiness for management activities. The formation of the communicative competence of reserve officers provides for the following factors: pedagogy of cooperation, personality-oriented education, an active personal position of the future reserve officer, critical thinking, the formation of language culture and the influence of mentors. One of the effective means of improving the level of training of military specialists is the use of modern information technologies, in particular, virtual computer systems and computer networks (simulation) models. They, first of all, should contribute to the comprehension and assimilation of educational material, as well as to ensure the possibility of a comprehensive assessment of the readiness of the future reserve officer for independent activity, the timely introduction of individual adjustments in the training of a military specialist. The main methodological foundations of the process of individualization of training: the organization of additional classes with students who have gaps in knowledge, by organizing optional classes; search for ways to individualize learning within a specific lesson; inclusion of the weak in the subgroups of well-prepared students. The practical application of these theoretical principles will contribute to the formation of a military specialist and the preparation of future reserve officers for educational work.

In our research, we aimed to investigate if chess, taught at the level of initiation, determines the improvement of cognitive processes such as attention, memory and understanding of a text. For this, we applied a specific questionnaire to three groups of children enrolled in preparatory class of primary school. From these, one group did not participate in chess learning lessons, and the two other, performed introductory chess lessons 1h/week, respectively 2h/week, for 27 weeks. At the end, testing through the questionnaire showed significantly better results for the indicators targeted at those who practiced systematically chess game, especially since the volume of learning activity was higher.
