The article considers the problem of determining the role of self-reflection in the process of adaptation of students to the conditions of study at university. It is suggested that the specifics of self-reflection depend on the outcomes of social psychological adaptation of students in the educational environment of university. The study involved 320 students (average age — 24.1 years old, SD = 6.8, males — 10.3%). The following standardized techniques were used: studies on student adaptation at university (T.D. Dubovitskaya, A.V. Krylova), diagnostics of social psychological adaptation (K. Rogers, R. Diamond), measures of selfreflection level (A.V. Karpov, V. V. Ponomaryova), and custom-developed scales for evaluating self-reflective activity. The study revealed that self-reflective activity and situational, retrospective, and perspective self-reflection are specific for welladapted students as well as for students with difficulties in adaptation. It is clear that regulation of dynamics of self-reflective images is important for the process of adaptation to university, allowing the individual to combine the dynamics necessary for quick response to changes in the situation and sufficient stability and clarity for understanding and creating motivation.

This chapter analyses the effects of increased transparency in supply netchains. The term netchain refers to both chain and network aspects. Three levels of transparency are distinguished: history transparency (e.g., tracking and tracing), operations transparency (e.g., collaborative logistics planning), and strategy transparency (e.g., joint innovation). Using an example in the Dutch egg sector, the chapter shows how the role of the individual company changes in a netchain and discusses the implications. Though technology push makes transparency feasible and economically attractive, social-psychological barriers exist that should be taken seriously. A brief review of cases from several continents shows that these barriers vary across cultures, depending on prevailing attitudes towards relationships and authority. Transparency may run counter to tradition, to trust, and to entrepreneurial freedom in the netchain, but it also offers opportunities for creating netchains that are profitable to all participants. To grasp these requires vision on behalf of those involved.

The article considers the features of socialization and individual expectations of the individual as components of its spheres of life. It is shown that the peculiarities of the subject's self-attitude determine the attitudes to life. Transforming, creative activity is one pole. The opposite pole - passivity, expectations, dependence. The result of psychological "tightness" is a feeling of failure. To solve the corrective tasks of forming an active life position, it is important that this transformative, corrective process begins with the analysis and work with self-assessment judgments. Individuals who have, in general, a fairly positive experience of social adaptation and self-realization will tend to form positive, flexible, realistic and concrete expectations. At the same time, individuals who have experienced numerous disappointments and conflicts in the past will be more likely to have negative, rigid, unrealistic and diffuse expectations in their respective fields of activity. Accordingly, the selected indicators are expressed in the features of the expectations of the individual in such areas as significant interpersonal relationships, ideas about their own potential and prediction of the future. The role of individual expectations (as components of cognitive development), as well as their relationship with the process of self-determination of the individual, which provides an opportunity to develop new, more effective programs of socio-psychological adaptation of the younger generation. Key words: specialty, socialization, examination, life.

The paper focuses on the stages in the development of mind in adults related to biographical self-reflection. The hypothesis of the study was that biographical self-reflection affects meaning-making, self-regulation and adaptation in the adults. The sample consisted of 480 individuals aged 25—65 years. The study measured indicators of biographical self-reflection, social psychological adaptation, life meaningfulness and self-regu- lation. We have found that in the age period of 46-65 years there is a shift from self-reflection on the path of life to self-reflection on life experience, which reinforces the influence of biographical self-reflection on the meaningfulness of life and self-regulation in the adults. Our study also revealed increases in biographical self-reflection at the beginning of age crises in adulthood (30—35, 40—45, 55—60 years) when, as a result of reflective analysis, the adult realizes the need for change in his/her life.

The past decade has witnessed burgeoning efforts among governments to prevent people from developing a commitment to violent extremism (conceived of as a process of radicalization). These interventions acknowledge the importance of group processes yet in practice primarily focus on the idiosyncratic personal vulnerabilities that lead people to engage in violence. This conceptualization is problematic because it disconnects the individual from the group and fails to adequately address the role of group processes in radicalization. To address this shortcoming, we propose a genuinely social psychological account of radicalization as an alternative. We draw on recent developments in theory and research in psychological science to suggest that radicalization is fundamentally a group socialization process through which people develop identification with a set of norms—that may be violent or nonviolent—through situated social interactions that leverage their shared perceptions and experiences. Our alternative provides a way of understanding shifts toward violent extremism that are caused by both the content (focal topics) and process of social interactions. This means that people’s radicalization to violence is inseparable from the social context in which their social interactions take place.
