Holistic Leadership: The Islamic Characteristic of Malaysian Gifted Learners inPusat Genius

Leadership is a crucial characteristic that empowers Gifted Learners (GL) to understand responsibility. This study is a qualitative study which aims to explore the Islamic leadership characteristics' levels among Malaysian GL during the presentation of their assignment by grouping. Researchers selected 10 participants to lead a group and, conducted an interview session after they have done their presentation. This article is aimed to distinguish the component of Islamic leadership outlines amongst Malaysian GL and how they show their responsibility in their task accomplishment of Islamic Education. This study contributes by helping GL to build confidence and nurture their leadership potential as future leaders.

This paper analyzes Mohammad Hatta's idea of modern Islamic education. Mohammad Hatta is not only known as a national figure and the first Indonesian vice president, but also a faithful, active individual in the field of Islamic education. He also expresses his idea regarding Islamic education in papers. Islamic education discourse still emerges as an important discussion topic today. This paper is the result of a qualitative study with literature review. The study aimed to discover Mohammad Hatta’s idea of modern Islamic education, which still emerges as a problem in today's Indonesian Islamic education. In this case, it is necessary to provide a representative, modern Islamic education in order to deliver ideal Muslim scholars. The study found that the construct of Mohammad Hatta’s idea on modern Islamic education was to create coherence between religion and modern science, comprising sociology, history, and philosophy. Such an idea is not merely an abstract, it was applied through the establishment of Sekolah Tinggi Islam (Islamic College) in 1945 as a modern Islamic higher education.

<p align="center">Abstrak</p><p>Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pendidikan Islam di Mesir dan Malaysia di era globalisasi dalam kajian  psikologi positif.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif mengkaji literatur dengan cara  mereview sumber bacaan buku dan jurnal.  Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis penelitian ini menggunakan pola berpikir deduktif induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa seiring dengan tantangan zaman di era globalisasi Negara yang mayoritas muslim di Mesir melaksanakan pendidikan di Negaranya dengan menganut sistem pendidikan sekuler dan sistem Islam. Begitu juga di Malaysia yang memiliki warga Negara multi ras, multi budaya dan multi agama menganut sistem pendidikan tradisional dan pendidikan modern. Kedua Negara tersebut dalam  melaksanakan  pendidikan Islam dilaksanakan  dengan baik. Sebagai penyelenggara pemerintahan baik di Mesir maupun di Malaysia yang mampu melaksanakan pendidikan Islam yang baik, berarti pelaku orang tersebut dalam kajian psikologi positif merupakan orang-orang yang memiliki kepribadian positif dan berpikir positif dalam perspektif psikologi positif. </p><p> </p><p align="center"><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p><em>This research was done</em><em> to investigate the implementation of Islamic education in Egypt and Malaysia in the globalization era in the study of positive psychology. This study is a qualitative study reviewing the literature by way of reviewing the source of reading books and journals. The method used to analyze this study using inductive deductive thinking patterns. The results showed that along with the challenges of the age of globalization muslim-majority state in Egypt carry out education in the country by embracing the secular education system and the Islamic system. So also in Malaysia that has a multi-racial citizens, multi-cultural and multi-religious education system adheres to both traditional and modern education. The two countries in implementing Islamic education properly implemented. As organizers of governance both in Egypt and in Malaysia, capable of performing a good Islamic education, meaning that the actors in the study of positive psychology are people who have a positive personality and positive thinking in the perspective of positive psychology.</em></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p>

Nowdays, Islamic school becomes the choice of people. Taḥfīẓ programs becomes the excellence program in Islamic Elementary School or Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The people believe and they are sure to choose Islamic education which has taḥfīẓ program in its curriculum. The objective of this research is to describe the imlementation of taḥfīẓ program, achievement target of memorizing al-Qur’an, the method that used to memorize al-Qur’an, evaluation that has been done by the teachers to the their students, supporting factors, the obstacles and the solution the overcome and also the implication of taḥfīẓ program toward the result of studens’ learning. The kind of this research is qualitative study. The subject of this research consist of the principal, directur of taḥfīẓ program, teachers, students and parents in the taḥfīẓ program. The object of this research is SDTQ Al-Abidin Surakarta and MITTQUM Surakarta. The data collection techniques are observation, interview and documentation. The validity is determined by triangulation. The data technique analysis has been done by descriptive qualitative. The result of this research shows that (1) the background and the goals of tahfiz program to create ḥāfiẓ and ḥāfiẓah generation that have good intellectual based on al-Qur’an and hadith. (2) The achievement target in SDTQ Al-Abidin Surakarta is 10 juz and in MITTQUM Surakarta is 6 juz. The method that applied in SDTQ Al-Abidin Surakarta is wahdah, gabungan, kaisa, sima’i, jama’ and juz’i. The method that applied in MITTQUM Surakarta is wahdah, tallaqi, kitabah, sima’i and juz’i. (3) Evaluation that has done by the teachers is run well as routine and periodical. For the examination, SDTQ Al-Abidin Surakarta has applied one juz examination. It is called al-Qur’an sertification. Taḥfīẓ examination that has been done in MITTQUM Surakarta is one juz in one period or we call it juziyyah and 5 juz examination in one period and in the graduation ceremony. (4) The Supporting factors of memorizing al-Qur’an are self motivation, parents and the environment. The obstacles of memorizing al-Qur’an are the lack of self motivation, bustle activity of parent and time management. The way to overcome the obstacles are making joyful learning process of taḥfīẓ program, improving the communication between the school and parents and having good cooperation between the teachers and the students about the time. (5)The implication of taḥfīẓ program toward the result of student’s learning are the students have good ability to memorize al-Qur’an. Sudents who have good ability to memorize al-Qur’an, they also have good ability in academic. It means that the ability of memorizing al-Qur’an as good as academic achievement. Saat ini sekolah Islam menjadi pilihan masyarakat. Program taḥfīẓ menjadi program unggulan di Sekolah Dasar Islam atau Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Masyarakat semakin yakin memilih pendidikan yang berbasis Islam dengan muatan kurikulum program taḥfīẓ. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan implementasi program taḥfīẓ yang meliputi dasar dan tujuan, target capaian hafalan, metode untuk menghafal, evaluasi pembelajaran dan evaluasi hafalan, faktor pendukung, kendala dan solusinya, serta implikasi program taḥfīẓ terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari Kepala Sekolah/Madrasah, penanggung jawab program taḥfīẓ, guru pengampu taḥfīẓ, siswa dan wali murid. Objek penelitian ini adalah SDTQ Al -Abidin dan MITTQUM Surakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan ditentukan dengan triangulasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) dasar dan tujuan program taḥfīẓ adalah menjadikan generasi yang ḥāfiẓ dan ḥāfiẓah yang intelektual dengan berlandaskan al-Qur’an dan hadits. (2) target hafalan di sekolah adalah 10 juz, sedangkan di madrasah adalah 6 Juz. Metode yang digunakan di SDTQ Al-Abidin antara lain metode wahdah, gabungan, kaisa, sima’i, jama’ dan juz’i. Metode di MITTQUM Surakarta meliputi metode wahdah, tallaqi, kitabah, sima’i dan juz’i. (3) Evaluasi yang dilakukan guru meliputi evaluasi rutin dan berkala. Untuk ujian hafalannya di SDTQ Al Abidin disebut dengan sertifikasi al-Qur’an. Ujian di MITTQUM meliputi ujian juziyyah, ujian lima juz sekali duduk, dan ketika acara wisuda. (4) Faktor pendukungnya meliputi motivasi diri sendiri, orang tua, guru dan lingkungan. Kendalanya adalah kurangnya motivasi dari dalam diri, kesibukan orang tua, dan manajemen waktu. Solusinya adalah pembelajaran taḥfīẓ yang menyenangkan melalui cerita motivasi, memperkuat komunikasi antara sekolah dengan orang tua dan manajemen waktu antara guru dan murid. (5) Implikasi bahwa anak-anak yang memiliki kemampuan bagus dalam menghafal al-Qur’an cenderung nilai akademiknya juga bagus. Dengan pengertian bahwa kemampuan menghafal al-Qur’an berbanding lurus dengan prestasi akademik.

This study aims to describe the principal's strategy in building the image of the school through religious character education in SDN Negeri Wonocationan 1. This research is a descriptive qualitative study, with data sources obtained through direct observation or observation, interviews with informants and documentation. The results showed that in improving the school's image the principal's strategy was to carry out activities in instilling the values ​​of religious character, it could be classified into three activities namely (1) integration in subjects. As seen in the BTQ program that can be carried out in Islamic education teaching, (2) habituation activities can be seen from the habits that are carried out every day at school, namely the implementation of Dhuha and Dzuhur prayer in congregation, reading Asmaul Husna every morning, wearing headscarves for female students from grade 1 to grade 6, refracting smiles, greetings and greetings. (3) The last activity is a school extracurricular which includes the implementation of Istigosah, BTQ and Hadrah Al-Banjari training.

This study aims to briefly review the thoughts of Jurgen Habermas, a German philosopher at the Frankfurt School with his critical philosophy, especially regarding social thought, by comparing it with the concept of spiritual leadership in Islam as reflected by the leadership characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Data processing uses descriptive analysis with a deconstruction paradigm, looking more sharply to provide new and critical meanings to the interpretation of Habermas's thoughts. The text is understood and rearranged from a different point of view. After finding the philosophical foundation and structure of Habermas' thought, the researcher compares his thoughts to the concept correlation of the Leadership of the Prophet Muhammad SAW so as to find Habermas' intentions related to Communicative Action and the rational development of society. The results of this study prove that Habermas's idea has a similar concept to Islamic spiritual leadership in a brief conceptualization that reflects the character and values that adhere to humanity, equality of emancipatory values and prioritizing communication in deliberation and solidarity that can lead to great ideals Naturalism is welfare in Habermasian Communicative Action. The spiritual implications of Islamic leadership are addressed using a democratic method and prioritizing the social side so that it has a purpose for the development of society.

The problem that is analyzed in this article is about the concept and implementation of inclusive Islamic education in the Darul Amin Border Dayah in Southeast Aceh. This research is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach by examining how the functions of the implementation of inclusive Islamic education in the Dayah Border Darul Amin Aceh Tenggara. Inclusive Islamic education in Dayah Border Darul Amin is integrated into the implementation of the dayah curriculum, both the dayah curriculum, the formal curriculum, the informal curriculum and the non-formal curriculum. Inclusive values instilled in dayah daily life are the values of tolerance, togetherness, mutual assistance, respect for differences and leadership based on Islamic values. The essence of inclusive Islamic education in the Darul Amin Border Dayah is the leader of the ummah and the generation of Muslim believers who are highly virtuous, knowledgeable, free-thinking and devoted to society.

This research was aimed to identify the relevance of human capital concepts with policies on professional development of Islamic education teachers at the Department of Religion Yogyakarta. It was a qualitative study whose subject was PAIS section and teachers of Islamic education in Yogyakarta. The results showed that the relevance of human capital concept with the policies on professional development of Islamic education teachers accounts at the design of some event programs conducted by PAIS (School Islamic Education Institution) section and POKJAWAS through yearly cooperative meetings. These programs were aimed to develop Islamic education teachers — these programs targeted their knowledge, skills, and capability. The teachers of Islamic education become an outstanding resource in performing their profession as teachers of Islamic education. Keywords: Human Capital, Policies, Developing Teachers’ Profession, Islamic Education Abstrak Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui relevansi antara konsep Human Capital dengan kebijakan pengembangan profesi guru pendidikan agama Islam pada Kantor Kementerian Agama Kota Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah seksi PAIS (Pendidikan Agama Islam Sekolah), pengawas PAI, dan guru pendidikan agama Islam di Kota Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, Relevansi Konsep Human Capital dengan Kebijakan Pengembangan Profesi Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam terletak pada perumusan serangkaian program kegiatan oleh Seksi PAIS dan POKJAWAS melalui rapat koordinasi di setiap tahunnya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk pengembangan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam. Program kegiatan dilakukan guna mengembangkan sisi pengetahuan, keterampilan, maupun kecakapan.  guru pendidikan agama Islam dapat menjadi sumber daya yang unggul dalam menjalankan profesinya sebagai guru pendidikan agama Islam. Discipline is the attitude of the learner willingly to comply   and do  the rule in order to train themselves obey rules. Efforts to improve discipline starts from educators provide a good example when the learning process. Discipline is needed in learning, because it can help the learning process well, increasing the pleasure of students to learn, and help improve students' social relationships. The purpose of this study to reveal the efforts made through the learning of Islamic Education to improve the discipline of students in SMP HARAPAN  Tulangan. This study includes qualitative study whose data in the form of statements, sentences, and documents. By using a naturalistic approach to researching where natural (natural setting) and field (Field Research), to obtain the required data information researchers used the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis of the data used in the form of triangulation analysis that includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. From the research conducted by researchers showed: 1) The discipline  of students of SMP HARAPAN has been good enough even though there are those who violate the rules. It still need to improve and reform the discipline of students so that they understand what is wrong even a little infractions. 2) The efforts of teacher  to improve discipline students use the order. For example, when there is student break the rule of school, especially PAI’s teachers have to follow up violations that done by learners to give direction, punishment, or reward that is commensurate to what which is conducted.

<p>This paper is an academic effort to explain some aspects of the concept of Islamic education thought Syaikh Abd al-Samad Palimbani (1714-1782 M). As a descriptive qualitative study, the main data in this study were obtained from a number of his works, especially from <em>kitab</em> <em>Hidayah al-Sālikin</em>. It’s contrast to the others previous scholars’ contemporaries, <em>Hidayah al-Sālikin</em> is unique work of Abd Shamad, especially in his approach. In these works Abd Shamad  attempted to explain jurisprudent aspects using Sufism approach. This research analyses some aspects of Abd Shamad’s concept of Islamic education thoughts. According to him, Islamic education aims are to produce a good human being and to achieve happiness by getting close to God. Based on the conducted research, some recommendations for further researcher, it is suggested to investigate this issue more specifically and comprehensively.</p>
