On the issue of the use of seal oil for the treatment of rickets in children, several works have already appeared in the Russian medical literature. So, in 1929, Levit and Mikhlina, in a work that came out of our clinic, reported on the basis of observations on 13 children about the satisfactory results of using this fat. In 1935, E. M. Lepsky and G. S. Tyamina published observations that also speak of the satisfactory effect of seal oil on children's rickets, despite the fact that when tested on rats, the content of vitamin D in this preparation was low.

The publication last year of Professor M. M. Nevyadomsky's Mechanics will certainly awaken interest in the name of Professor Zakhar'in. If, as D. D. Pletnev put it, we do not know Russian scientific medicine (Pletnev, Russian therapeutic schools), yet such representatives of it as Zakharyin, Botkin, Ostroumov, L. Popov, Volkov, Obraztsov, Shatilov, etc., can be called classics of Russian clinical medicine. In recent years, we have seen in Russian medical literature a number of works profound in content and original in their very title, such as, for example, "Introduction to Thanatology. In recent years we have seen in the Russian medical literature a number of works of profound content and originality, such as "Introduction to Thanatology" by Prof. Shore and the aforementioned "Mechanics of Vital Signs of the Sick Man" by Prof. Neviadomsky.

Introduction: Vitamin D has been shown to have anti-cancer properties such as antioxidants, anti-proliferative, and cell differentiation. The property of vitamin D as an anticancer agent triggers researchers to find out whether vitamin D is useful as a radiosensitizer. Multiple studies have been carried out on cell lines in various types of cancer, but the benefits of vitamin D as a radiosensitizer still controversial. This paperwork aims to investigate the utilization of Vitamin D3 (Calcitriol) as radiosensitizer in various cell line through literature review.Methods: A systematic search of available medical literature databases was performed on in-vitro studies with Vitamin D as a radiosensitizer in all types of cell lines. A total of 11 in-vitro studies were evaluated.Results: Nine studies in this review showed a significant effect of Vitamin D as a radiosensitizer agent by promoting cytotoxic autophagy, increasing apoptosis, inhibiting of cell survival and proliferation, promoting gene in ReIB inhibition, inducing senescene and necrosis. The two remaining studies showed no significant effect in the radiosensitizing mechanism of Vitamin D due to lack of evidence in-vitro settings.Conclusion: Vitamin D have anticancer property and can be used as a radiosensitizer by imploring various mechanism pathways in various cell lines. Further research especially in-vivo settings need to be evaluated.

This review looks at the role of an alkaline diet in health. Pubmed was searched looking for articles on pH, potential renal acid loads, bone health, muscle, growth hormone, back pain, vitamin D and chemotherapy. Many books written in the lay literature on the alkaline diet were also reviewed and evaluated in light of the published medical literature. There may be some value in considering an alkaline diet in reducing morbidity and mortality from chronic diseases and further studies are warranted in this area of medicine.

The relationship between hypovitaminosis D and depressive disorder is well documented in the medical literature. However, the biological mechanisms by which vitamin D can modulate psychological distress are still unclear. Containment measures can decrease individual’s exposure to the sun, significantly increasing their needs for vitamin D, a nutrient already deficient in patients with depression. Therefore, it can be inferred that by ingesting the same amount of vitamin D, depressive individuals seem to obtain a lesser amount of this nutrient from the sun's rays when compared to healthy people.  We found the relationship between vitamin D and COVID-19 has been increasingly studied, mainly due to the changes that this substance can cause in the inflammatory process - especially in the release of cytokines, in SARS and in lung injuries. Despite the benefits, the existing observational studies on this exchange are not enough to definitively associate vitamin D as a protective factor for COVID-19.

Recently, two works have appeared in the Russian medical literature, treating about scooping or scraping as a method for producing a legitimate artificial miscarriage: part of the pr., I. Lvov), and part of the pr., A. A. Muratov). Both of these authors refer to an article by Dr. P. Puech, entitled: "Du Curettage comme mthode d'avortement artificiel", published in the August book of Annales de Gyncologie et d'obsttr. for 1895. Within the meaning of this reference, one may think that Puech was the first to recommend this method in print as an independent one and pointed out its advantages over all other methods practiced before to induce an artificial abortion. Lvov (1. p.), Says: True, many other authors resorted to removing the fetal egg from the uterus with a sharp or blunt spoon, but they resorted to this method not on their own, but accidentally, as an auxiliary technique when it was impossible to remove fertile eggs in another way. "

Background. In spite of large volume of data linking vitamin D with cardiovascular morbidity, autoimmunity, cancer, and virtually every organ system, vitamin D and thyroid is a lesser-known aspect of vitamin D in clinical practice. The association between vitamin D deficiency and thyroid cancer is controversial. Some studies have demonstrated that higher serum vitamin D levels might protect against thyroid cancer, whereas others have not, or have even indicated the opposite to to be the case. This review intends to highlight the current literature on the impact of vitamin D status on thyroid cancer. Materials and methods. References for this review were identified through searches of PubMed for articles published to from 2005 to June 2021 using the terms “thyroid cancer” and “vitamin D”. Results. A large volume of medical literature is available from observational studies linking vitamin D with thyroid cancer. Data from interventional studies documenting beneficial effects of vitamin D on thyroid autoimmunity is also available, but lesser than that from observational studies. Short-term high dose oral vitamin D supplementation reduces TPOAb titers. Certain vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphism have been linked to increased occurrence of autoimmune thyroid disorders. Vitamin D deficiency, decreased circulating calcitriol has been linked to increased thyroid cancer. Certain VDR gene polymorphisms have been linked with increased as well as decreased occurrence of thyroid cancer. Data is scant on use of vitamin D and its analogues for treating thyroid cancer. The results suggest that Vitamin D deficiency may have value as a negative prognostic indicator in papillary thyroid cancer and that pre-operative laboratory evaluation may be less useful. This is important because Vitamin D deficiency is modifiable. Conclusions. In spite of large volume of medical literature from observational studies linking vitamin D with thyroid cancer, meaningful concrete clinical data on impact of vitamin D supplementation on hard clinical end points in these disorders is lacking, and should be the primary area of research in the next decade.
