The national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Feder- ation imply the dynamic growth of small and medium-sized businesses, but its cur- rent state raises certain concerns. In these conditions, it is necessary to search and analyze new forms of work, including cluster integration. The purpose of the work is to study the potential of the cluster organization of small and medium-sized busi- nesses and analyze the features of the functioning of modern business clusters in Russia. As a result, it was found that in a number of countries there are clusters that include only small and medium-sized enterprises. Such clusters can create a single value chain and compete in the global market. At the same time, even a partial mani- festation of cluster effects has a positive effect on entrepreneurial activity. To a cer- tain extent, similar trends are taking place in Russia. However, clusters of small and medium-sized enterprises in the domestic economy are poorly studied and are rarely formalized. An analysis of Russian clusters of small and medium-sized enterprises with an institutionally fixed status showed that their creation often depends on a sub- jective factor. More often this is resorted to by non-resource regions that need new points of growth. Clusters of small and medium-sized enterprises are very unevenly distributed over the territory of Russia, and this is due to the large number of ―hid- den‖ clusters. Tourism and information technology prevail among the types of eco- nomic activities. This can be explained by the ubiquitous spread of entrepreneurial structures of the corresponding profile. The period of operation of the cluster has no statistically significant relationships with the total number of employees and the av- erage number of employees per enterprise. Consequently, further in-depth studies of the problems and features of the functioning of such clusters, including unofficial ones, are required.

Цифровые технологии существенно влияют на мировой рынок, внося коррективы в расстановку сил на нем. Используемые ранее подходы к управлению бизнес-процессами становятся не актуальными в современных условиях. Без цифровизации наукоемкие производства будут не способны выдержать конкурентную борьбу, и вынуждены будут уйти с рынка. В то же время современные условия хозяйствования диктуют необходимость постоянного совершенствования бизнес-процессов наукоемких предприятий, их оптимизации. Данные принципы являются основой концепции бережливое производство, реализация которых становится более эффективной при условии использования цифровых технологий. В статье рассмотрены вопросы интеграции концепции бережливое производство и цифровых технологий на наукоемких предприятиях. Показан пример успешной реализации принципов данной концепции с использованием цифровых подходов к оптимизации бизнес-процессов наукоемкого производства. В современных условиях важнейшим активом любого предприятия, в том числе и наукоемкого производства, являются данные. Реализация принципов бережливого производства требует обработки значительного объема информации. Цифровые технологии позволяют анализировать информационные потоки в режиме реального времени, моделировать бизнес-процессы и тем самым, способствуют более качественному и оперативному принятию решений по оптимизации бизнес-процессов наукоемких производств. Только объединив принципы концепции бережливое производство и возможности, которые дает цифровизация, наукоемкие предприятия смогут не просто удержать свои конкурентные позиции на рынке, но и перейти на более качественный уровень своего развития. Digital technologies significantly affect the global market, making adjustments to the balance of power in it. Previously used approaches to business process management are no longer relevant in modern conditions. Without digitalization, high-tech industries will not be able to withstand competition and will be forced to leave the market. At the same time, modern business conditions dictate the need to constantly improve the business processes of high-tech enterprises and optimize them. These principles are the basis of the concept of lean manufacturing, the implementation of which becomes more effective when using digital technologies. The article deals with the integration of the concept of lean manufacturing and digital technologies in high-tech enterprises. An example of successful implementation of the principles of this concept using digital approaches to optimizing business processes in high-tech production is shown. Abstract Objective: The aim of this paper is to understand a production system of a forging and presses structure of a centenary factory in terms of a cultural change on the management approach. Methodology: The study was focused on many aspects such as the pieces production lead time, a time study of the setups, the Overall Equipment Effectiveness determination for the Computer Numeric Control machinery and an analysis of the production cells operational flow. Findings: For the aspects that were analysed during the study, the problems are identified, and the root causes determined. At the end of the assessment stage Lean tools and concepts for fixing the problems were proposed, like new rules for production planning, setups procedures, 5S toll usage and a Lean implementation plan that is adapted to the company. Value Added: The high industrial competitivity has dictated the development for this sector that – allied with the inconstant and unstable economic environment – makes the companies very vulnerable and highly dependent of the global market. This is a concern of special relevance for the Small and Medium Size companies that are increasingly adopting Lean solutions to continuously improve their operational value chain and the management approach, for a more systemic way of thinking. Recommendations: For some of the solutions an impact study with their implementation was made. An analysis of the success factors proposed in the literature that were verified during the assessment stage of the case study was performed as well.

High-value consumer markets are demanding a continuously higher quality of products and enhanced food safety. In association with this, the increasingly competitive global market place and developments in information technology have catalysed the establishment of closer relationships and co-operation between participants in high-value supply chains. These closer relationships enhance the flow of information between participants and their ability to introduce strategies to improve efficiencies in supply as well as to decrease risks to consumers and others in the supply chain. These trends have significant implications to New Zealand farmers who will need to adopt systems to more effectively monitor and record their use of inputs and subsequent farm and stock management and make this information available to those further down the value chain. An inability to respond to these trends may result in farmers as well as processors, limited to servicing only relatively lower value markets. Under the guidance of the new strategic objectives of the power grid company, it is necessary to inject innovative vitality into personnel training, capital investment, and technological progress in order to achieve the goal of increasing the value of power grid companies. This paper analyzes the coupling relationship of “innovation chain, talent chain, technology chain, capital chain and value chain”, and establishes the evaluation index system of “five chain” integration effectiveness. Then, the traditional Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is improved, and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) model is constructed. Finally, three provincial power grid companies are selected for example analysis, and the innovation effectiveness ranking of each company is obtained, which verifies the effectiveness of the model proposed in this paper.

In modern business, dynamic changes in the environment (macro trends) provoke changes within the company. Companies can protect themselves from latent, acute crises. In addition, companies can navigate a turbulent environment while ensuring organizational existence and development. Organizational forms and characteristics, as well as business models to maintain or increase existence and create competitive advantages in the global market, are increasingly sought in a more creative manner. These actions are based on dynamic strategic thinking. Revolutionary methods are often required for the creation and adaptation of competitive business models. The data from companies that face a current crisis show a gap between the need to change business models and the introduction of adapted business models to achieve the desired level of competitiveness.

The concept of performance, as it is measured and evaluated, is undergoing a transformation in modern business organisations, so that partnering companies who form enterprise networks that work together across the value chain, can apply evolving performance measurement structures that more accurately capture value chain realities. In this chapter an Extended Enterprise (EE) performance measurement system that can theoretically present models, measures and data from all aspects of the participating companies’ functions in an EE is presented; together with the innovative development of a fuzzy-based performance modelling method, which acts as a supplement to the original procedural measurement framework, enabling the development of a system of performance measurement that is of greater relevance to both intra-organisational and inter-organisational levels, and which goes beyond current efforts to achieve greater reliability in the selection and implementation of performance measures.

The objective of this research is to analyse how risk-taking, commitment to learning, and innovation capability — in SMEs — can favour inbound and outbound open innovation practices, and if open innovation practices help their performance. To test the hypotheses simultaneously, partial least squares analysis (PLS-SEM) was used along with the empirical data obtained from 194 interviews with Chilean’s executives of manufacturing SMEs between 10 and 250 employees. The results obtained show that commitment to learning and risk-taking have a positive effect on innovation capability. Our study has shown how innovation capability has a significant and positive influence on inbound and outbound practices. In the field of performance, our research has verified that inbound practices have a positive influence on the performance of the SME. Finally, it shows managers the way to select open innovation practices that most benefit the strategic objectives of the SME.

Abstract The fundamental restructuring processes of agri-food networks in developing and emerging markets have intensified the debate on how to improve the integration of smallholders into so called modern value chains. In this context, the company-driven contract farming model and the member-based model of producer organizations are discussed by practitioners and in the scholarly literature as alternatives to traditional market systems. This study compares the models’ abilities to address economic challenges of highly fragmented and small-scale dominated agriculture on a household as well as on an aggregate level. It analyzes empirical data from the Indian floriculture sector with the global value chain approach. The study reveals that the smallholders perceive both contract farming and producer organization to be beneficial for their households’ economic risk situation, while only the producer organization has a positive effect on the households’ income. The contract farming benefits production and value chain efficiency, whereas the producer organization does not show an impact in these respects. We thus observe that the contract farming model increases value creation in the overall chain, but it does not raise the producer’s value capture; while the producer organization model does not heighten value creation in the overall chain, but it lifts the producers’ value capture. The organization’s individual capabilities determine how each model addresses the economic challenges. Overall, the author argues that contract farming and producer organizations are supplementing, not competitive, strategies and should be applied in combination.

<div><p class="AbstractEnglish">Spatial is one issue that is important in assessing the concept of entrepreneurship. Interest studied the problems of spatial and entrepreneurship is to create business growth, through the support of business locations atmosphere, leading to the creation of entrepreneurial activity. The purpose of this study to (1) identify the determining factors of the characteristics of the zone; (2) to analyze the influence of the characteristics of the zone of entrepreneurial activity; (3) Analyze the effects of entrepreneurial activity on the growth of broiler chicken farm. The research was conducted by survey method, conducted in three zones in Jambi province with a total sample of 140 farmers. The results showed (1) Characteristics of the zone formed by the spatial characteristics, enterprises and entrepreneurs. (2) Characteristics of significant zones of direct and positive effect on entrepreneurial activity (3) entrepreneurial activities significantly affect the growth of broiler chicken farm, both of which have a positive relationship. In other words, the growth of the business acquired, occur because of the encouragement of entrepreneurial activity increased farmers. </p></div>

Home-work (HW) in the putting-out system (POS)-based industry is the real proof of global capitalism existence in domestic space. It utilizes house resources and manipulates the domestic area to keep production costs low in order to compete in the global market. POS and HW become paradoxical as they are widely employed and categorized as strategic commodity production, market their products to the global market, and involve certain skills, creativity and technology. Nevertheless, the facts are obscured from public eyes. Efforts to uncover the obscured facts have been done through POS and HW transformation strategies, which are described in this paper. The paper aims at promoting POS and HW into public areas. The data used were gathered through participatory action research on batik industry based on "putting-out" system in cluster batik in Central Java from gender perspectives. The transformation model was used to promote POS and HW and to seek recognition of the facts that were based on system advantages and capacity enhancement of home-workers while enhancing product values through “fair trade” market. The implemented model has four components, namely: 1) development of innovation and technology that focused on product development, production, and marketing on the alternative market; 2) innovation and technological transfer in product development for better value chain and value added; 3) engineering and strengthening of production institutionalization, which is based on POS clusters; 4) engineering and strengthening of marketing institutionalization of alternative market; and 5) development and strengthening of vocal points that are related to and in support of the implementation. This model gave out positive impact on supporting the implementation of POS and POS roles and promoting this reality. As a model, however, this transformation model needed to be developed that it might be disseminated to a larger scale.
