The objective of this article is to show the practices of social responsibility in women belonging to organizations that produce differentiated coffees in a peripheral region of Colombia. In this regard, a quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional investigation was carried out, for which a model of its own was designed to characterize said practices from four dimensions: environment, society, values, transparency and government and labour matters. A questionnaire-type instrument with a Likert scale was applied to 430 women. Regarding the results, it was found that more than half of the women in the associations (58.7%) perceive actions related to management in the margin of social responsibility. Dimensions such as Values, Transparency and Governance (VTG), Environment (E) and Society (S), have a rating higher than 50%; however, the Labour Things (LT) dimension obtained the lowest percentage rating (47.6%).

Financial accountability, financial control and financial reporting are the three main elements that determine the performance of the municipality. An analysis had to be made on each of these elements to find any limitations and gaps that negatively impact on the performance of the organisation. The aim of the study was to evaluate financial accountability, financial control and financial reporting of Umtshezi Municipality. The study was a census study and it was quantitative, descriptive and cross sectional in nature. The target population comprised of 45 employees from the finance department which was divided into five units, namely, Supply Chain Management, Expenditure, Asset/Fleet, Revenue and Budget. The IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.0 was used to determine statistical results. The findings of the study discovered that officials lack educational qualifications and adequate understanding of the MFMA. The respondents also indicated that there was political influence affecting administration within the municipality. The study recommended that the municipality should provide funds to train employees. National Treasury should conduct consistent reviews on the implementation of the MFMA. The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) should intervene to protect the administration from political threats

Background: The current study was premeditated to evaluate the attitude, knowledge and practice of the pharmacy employees (including interns and trainees) dealing with medical practice towards medical errors and adverse drug reaction reports. Methods:The study is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional one with the influence of medication-error reporting, focused on pharmacy department of King Saud University Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia using the Likert-scale survey. The research population was 167 pharmacy employees, (including interns, and trainees) from King Saud University Medical City. The legalized items connected to knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) survey was given to each member. Results:Majority of the total sample size (n=167) are pharmacists, managers, lead pharmacists, pharmacist-in-charge, or staff pharmacist by 74.3 %, where 15.6 % are pharmacy technicians, 7.8 % are pharmacy students interns/externs and 2.4 % other workers. Positive responses were highest in teamwork within the pharmacy employee (87.3% vs. 81.6%), staff training and skills within the pharmacy employee (86.35% vs. 79.25%), physical space and environment in the pharmacy (83.8% vs. 73.6%). Lower responses were found in response to mistakes (79.75% vs. 74.4%) compared to community pharmacy database report (AHRQ, 2019).Conclusion:The findings indicate that ratings on documenting mistakes (reporting)as perceived by pharmacy employee are at par with the community pharmacy elsewhere. The weakest dimension identified was mistakes (reporting) having the lowest positive response with a mean score of 3. This denotes a low level of agreement according to Likert scale confirming that is the dimension needing improvement.

Waste is very serious problem, especially in the Tarakan area. One of the ways to manage waste is through empowering the young generation in 4R-based waste managing (reduce, reuse, recycle and replace). This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach through the type of pre-experiment. This study measures the knowledge, skills and attitudes of students in Department of Elementary Teacher School in University of Borneo Tarakan. The pre-experiment research design carried out was one pretest-posttest group on observing student knowledge, and one shot case study on observing skills and attitudes. aspects of knowledge obtained an average before the activity of 50,625 and the average after activity amounted to 79,13889. On the skill aspect, the results obtained on a 1-5 Likert scale on a reduce of 4.5; reuse of 4.25; recycle 4.12; and replace 3.98. The attitude aspect was obtained at 80% in affective, and 76.5% in conative.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not a very new concept, it is an old concept. Earlier, in India it was optional to the company that they may contribute voluntarily towards CSR but after the Companies Act 2013, it was formally introduced in the business environment and was made mandatory for those companies whose net worth and profit cross a threshold limit. They should contribute 2% of the average net profit of just preceding three years profit. This paper primarily focuses on CSR practices of some selected public sector petroleum companies in India. The study has been conducted based on the Annual Reports of seven selected public sector companies. Five years of data on CSR spending from 2009–10 to 2014–15 were examined. Moreover, the pattern of expenses was also examined. Since petroleum companies are giants of the India economy and contribute significantly towards the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of our country. Thus it is necessary to look into how these companies are contributing towards CSR. An attempt has been made to examine the early impact of Section 135 of the Companies Act.

The purpose of this article is to examine the influence of corporate social responsibility practices of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL), Bangladesh and to know the client’s knowledge, feedback, awareness and eagerness towards the CSR activities while choosing a bank. This study also investigates the level of present and expected CSR contribution of this bank. A cross- sectional survey design was used for the study featuring a self administered questionnaire and data were collected from 100 clients at South Surma branch. Data were analyzed using SPSS and the findings revealed that CSR activities played an important role for clients to choose a bank. Most of the clients were aware of CSR program and they had positive reaction to CSR practices of DBBL. Clients also suggested to expand CSR practices and they were willing to contribute for social activities financially. The results show the policy implications for business community, citizen, customers, investors, managers and other stakeholders.

Abstract In this paper, two failure analysis case studies are presented to demonstrate the importance of sample preparation procedures to successful failure analyses. Case study 1 establishes that Palladium (Pd) cannot be used as pre-FIB coating for SiO2 thickness measurement due to the spontaneously Pd silicide formation at the SiO2/Si interface. Platinum (Pt) is thus recommended, in spite of the Pt/SiO2 interface roughness, as the pre-FIB coating in this application. In the second case study, the dual-directional TEM inspection method is applied to characterize the profile of the “invisible” tungsten residue defect. The tungsten residue appears invisible in the planeview specimen due to the low mass-thickness contrast. It is then revealed in the cross-sectional TEM inspection.

The emerging concept of university social responsibility (USR) consists in the fulfillment of the mission of the university in terms of ethical standards, community support, respect for human beings, and respect for the environment. Thus, universities must not only provide professional training but also instill ethical principles in students to allow them to behave as good citizens and help solve community problems. On the other hand, competition for students requires efficient management of university reputation and communication with their stakeholders, to demonstrate the accomplishment of the university’s mission and attract potential students. The objective of this paper is thus to explain the causal relationship between communication about university social responsibility (USR) activities through institutional websites and university selection, as well as the role of reputation. Research work was carried out based on an explanatory cross-sectional design, with a sample of 356 subjects from a population of 11th-grade students from public and private schools in the City of Barranquilla (Colombia). The results revealed that USR communication through institutional websites has a significant influence on university selection, not only directly but also indirectly, through reputation as a mediating variable. These findings contribute at a theoretical level by providing empirical evidence to understand and explain the analyzed topic. Furthermore, the results provide useful information to evaluate USR disclosure and implement strategies to make progress on USR issues. Resumen El naciente concepto de responsabilidad social universitaria (RSU) consiste en el cumplimiento de la misión de la universidad dentro de unos estándares éticos, de apoyo a la comunidad, respeto al ser humano y al medio ambiente. Así, pues, la universidad no sólo debe impartir formación profesional, sino inculcar a sus estudiantes principios éticos que les permitan comportarse como buenos ciudadanos y contribuir a la solución de los problemas de la comunidad. Por otra parte, la competencia entre universidades exige una gestión eficiente de su reputación y de la comunicación con sus distintos stakeholders, para demostrar a la sociedad el cumplimiento de su misión social, y para atraer estudiantes potenciales hacia la institución. Por lo tanto, este artículo tiene como objetivo explicar la relación de causalidad entre la comunicación de las prácticas de RSU en los sitios web institucionales y la selección de universidad, y el papel mediador de la reputación en esta relación. Para lograrlo, se llevó a cabo una investigación cuantitativa de nivel explicativo experimental y diseño transversal, con una muestra conformada por 356 sujetos, de una población de estudiantes de grado 11º de colegios públicos y privados de la ciudad de Barranquilla (Colombia). Los resultados revelan que la comunicación de las prácticas de RSU en los sitios web institucionales ejerce una influencia significativa directa en la intención de selección de universidad, e indirecta, a través de la reputación como variable mediadora. La evidencia empírica aportada representa un avance teórico en la comprensión y explicación del fenómeno estudiado, e igualmente servirá para que las universidades evalúen si están comunicando adecuadamente su responsabilidad social y adopten estrategias para avanzar en este aspecto.
