Background: The number of people with diabetes mellitus is increasing with the most cases being Type II Diabetes Mellitus which is a chronic condition and if not treated seriously can cause complications such as kidney disease, amputation and blindness. Families play an important role in prevention and help deal with patients’ disease problems. One of the factorsthat influence the health of DM patientsis family support. It has a significant influence on the success of diabetes management. The most influential factor for family support is health knowledge and education. Peer education intervention group is one type of health education that provides increased knowledge, psychosocial, and more effective expenditure, rather than personal counseling. Family as a function of health that requires peers from their own family members.  Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of the peer group Educationin tervention family against the family support of type II DM patients. Methods: The designused in this study included the randomized pretest and -posttest control group design. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with family inclusion criteria in which one family member suffered from type II DM, stayed with the patient, and was willing to become a respondent. Data collection is using family support questionnaire. Data analysis used a t-test. Results: The results showed there were significant differences between pre and post intervention. The peer group education intervention increased the family support of type II DM patients after the post intervention (p = 0.00). the peer group education intervention family increases the family support of type II DM patients in the intervention group compared to controls (p =0.00). Conclusion: The results showed that peer group intervention education was more significant than health education usually in increasing the family support of diabetes mellitus patients,so that it could be used as an intervention choice for community nurses in increasing family support for DM patients.

This study aims to determine the factors that affect dietary compliance in patients with type II diabetes mellitus, including family support, knowledge, income, and nutritional counseling. The research method used in this study is cross-sectional. This study indicates a relationship between family support, understanding, revenue, and nutritional counseling on dietary compliance in older people with type II diabetes Mellitus in 2019 in a district in Jambi. In conclusion, there is a relationship between family support, knowledge, income, and nutritional counseling on dietary compliance in older people with type II diabetes Mellitus.   Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Family Support, Knowledge, Nutrition Counseling

Diabetes is a serious chronic disease that occurs because the pancreas does not produce enough insulin. Quality of life is very important to get serious attention, because the quality of life is something that is closely related to a person's health condition, the severity of the disease, the duration of healing, and can even aggravate the condition of the disease to death if a person has a poor quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and stress with the quality of life of the elderly with type II diabetes mellitus in the Sekupang Health Center, Batam City, 2020. Data collection usedthe questionnaire brought by the researcher to the population elderly people with Type II Diabetes Mellitusin Batam City in 2020. The inclusion criteria are elderly who are willing to be respondents, elderly who suffer from Diabetes Mellitus Type II, elderly who are ≥60 years old, elderly who can communicate well, and elderly who do not experience cognitive impairment. Research respondents involved in this study were 64 respondents. Chi-Square statistical test results obtained value (p value = 0.000 <0.05), indicating that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between family support and stress with the quality of life of the elderly with type II diabetes mellitus in the Sekupang Health Center, Batam City, 2020.

The purpose of this study was obtained by comparing the effectiveness of Buerger Allen Exercise and foot exercises to the value of Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. This research method is a quantitative method with Quasi Experiment research design pre and post test two groups with 15 respondents in the intervention group (group A) given Buerger Allen Exercise intervention and 15 respondents in the intervention group (group B) given foot exercise intervention. The results showed that there were significant differences in the value of Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) before and after being given Buerger Allen Exercise and foot exercises with p <0.05 with the difference in the average increase in ABI value Buerger Allen Exercise group of 0.0820 while in the group foot exercises the difference in the average increase in ABI value by 0.0726. The conclusion of this study is that Buerger Allen Exercise is more effective than foot exercises in increasing the value of Ankle Brachial Index (ABI).  Keywords        : Ankle Brachial Index, Buerger Allen Exercise, Foot Exercise, Type II Diabetes Mellitus.

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of Ramadan Fasting towards blood sugar levels in diabetics in the health center in West Java of Purwakarta. The design of this research uses quasi experiment of pre and post test with the control group, the method uses Purposive sampling done by the sum of 36 samples of respondents. The results of this research are using Independent T-test fast differences in blood sugar levels after fasting Ramadaan in the control group and the intervention group obtained the value of p = 0.039 < α = 0.05. Conclusion the results of this study showed the presence of the influence of fasting of Ramadan towards blood sugar levels in type II diabetes mellitus patients in Healty Center of Purwakarta. It can be concluded that fasting during Ramadan can be used as an alternative diet method that has positive benefits if it is run by type II diabetes mellitus patients which can reduce blood sugar to be more stable.  Keywords: Ramadhan Fasting, Blood Glukose Level, Diabetic Mellitus Type II

Background: Patients with type-2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) need support from their families to perform self-care to prevent complications; however, not all families have effective support. Family empowerment is a family-based strategic intervention which can improve family support to those patients.Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effects of family empowerment on increasing family support in patients with type 2 DM.Methods: This study used a quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Forty-six respondents were recruited using a consecutive sampling technique and assigned to the control and intervention groups. Respondents in the intervention group were given family empowerment intervention by visiting their homes four times, for 120 minutes each. In contrast, the control group was given the intervention of standard booklets. The Hensarling Diabetes Family Support Scale (HDFSS) was used to observe the family support on both groups. Data were analyzed by independent t-test.Results: Results showed that there was a significant difference between the intervention and the control group with t=7.86 and p-value of 0.00. There were mean differences of 2.29 and 0.28 between the intervention and the control group, respectively.Conclusion: Family empowerment affected family support in patients with type-2 DM. Based on this study, it is recommended that the health workers advocate and encourage the family in the planning management of patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract Chronic diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type II can cause profound psychological changes for patients, families and social groups. The positive view of DM sufferers about themselves is an indication of subjective well-being, on the other hand, DM sufferers themselves are an indication of low subjective well-being. Semarang Regency. This research was conducted at Srikandi Wound Care, Semarang Regency from March to April 2021. The method used in this study was qualitative, with data collection techniques using the Subjective Well Being interview guide instrument developed by Diener (2006). There were 5 participants who were determined using purposive sampling technique. The results of the study obtained 6 (six) themes that describe Subjective Well Being in type II DM patients, namely, respondents' experiences related to life satisfaction, happiness, respondents' feelings of sadness, family support, community views and respondents' knowledge regarding type II diabetes mellitus. In conclusion, subjective well-being in participants with Type II Diabetes Mellitus at Srikandi Wound Care refers to aspects of experience related to life satisfaction, participants' happiness, participants' sadness, family support, community views and knowledge related to type II diabetes mellitus.
