Insurance provides financial security and protection of the independence of the insured person. Its principles are quite simple: insurance protects investments, life and property. You regularly pay a certain amount of money in exchange for a guarantee that in case of unforeseen circumstances (accident, illness, death, property damage) the insurance company will protect you in the form of financial compensation.Reinsurance, in turn, has a significant impact on ensuring the financial stability of the insurer. Because for each type of insurance there is a possibility of large and very large risks that one insurance company can not fully assume. In the case of a portfolio with very high risks, the company may limit their acceptance, or give part of the reinsurance. The choice of path depends entirely on the company’s policy and type of insurance. This paper considers the main types of reinsurance and their mathematical models. An analysis of the probability of bankruptcy and the optimal use of a particular type of reinsurance are provided. There are also some examples and main results of research on this topic. After all, today the insurance industry is actively gaining popularity both in Ukraine and around the world. Accordingly, with a lot of competition, every insurer wants to get the maximum profit with minimal e↵ort.

These techniques have played a positive role at a certain stage of development, as the Russian state, and the world economy as a whole. However, it seems the time has come to change the tradition in determining financial stability, solvency, liquidity, business enterprises, associations, sectors of the economy to make substantial changes in the conditions of economic sanctions aimed at weakening of the national economy. The approaches to the determination of the probability of enterprises’ bankruptcy, which are mainly based on the theories of Western economists, require changes.

The article analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business activities in Ukraine and the world and its financial security. The analysis showed that the economy of Ukraine and most countries of the world suffered significant losses from the introduction of anti-epidemic restrictions on business activity, which turned out to be in the fall of GDP, index of industrial production investment activity. Because of temporary or complete shutdown of business the unemployment rate increased significantly. The pandemic crisis also negatively impacted the financial results of enterprises, which decreased significantly in all kinds of economic activities, especially in industry, transport, temporary accommodation and catering, where the share of unprofitable enterprises reaches 73%. Thus, the problem of ensuring the financial security of business becomes relevant. The aim of the work is to develop methodological approaches to assessing the impact of the pandemic crisis on the financial security of business and to identify effective ways of ensuring such security. In the process of research methods of scientific abstraction, comparative and system analysis and synthesis, systematization and logical generalization were used. It was determined that the pandemic affected small and medium businesses most of all, where a strong negative impact was experienced by more than 60% of entrepreneurs. Large businesses were less affected, but they also suffered significant losses due to the decline in business activity and demand in the domestic and foreign markets. Agriculture was least affected by the pandemic, which suffered the least losses, primarily due to the insignificant impact of restrictions affecting the activities of this business. The paper systematized the risks arising from the factors of the pandemic crisis, identifying their manifestations and financial implications for business. As shown by the research, such consequences are manifested in the form of full or partial loss of profits, problems with debt repayment, reduction of financial stability, liquidity, increase in accounts receivable, increased costs for anti-epidemic measures, etc. Thus, the procedure for assessing the business’s financial security is to take into account all factors that shape the financial situation of business entities during a pandemic crisis in a comprehensive manner.

The analysis of probability of bankruptcy is one of directions of financial analysis, and the general purpose of financial analysis – rendering assistance in development of reasonable and effective administrative decisions. The analysis is important for all subjects of the insurance market, including the National Bank of Ukraine, as the regulator of the financial services market, which is interested in the financial stability of the insurance market. Especially, if in recent years there has been a tendency to reduce the number of insurers. The bankruptcy probability assessment may be carried out by the management of the company itself to identify weaknesses and prevent bankruptcy. There is great interest in methods that allow assessing the probability of bankruptcy in advance, predicting the onset of financial insolvency of the organization. Analysis of the likelihood of bankruptcy allows the company to obtain an objective assessment of its activities, can adjust it in the right direction by taking prompt or preventive measures. The aim of the research is to determine the probability of bankruptcy of the insurance company, by the example of ALC “IC “Motor-Garant”” on the basis of foreign and domestic models, such as Taffler-Tishaw, Springate, A.P. Zaitseva. Analysis of the likelihood of bankruptcy by several methods will be carried out on the basis of the data reflected in the company’s financial statements. These models are considered to determine the probability of bankruptcy of the insurance company, determining their main advantages and disadvantages, as well as the possibility of their use in practice. It is proved, that the estimation of probability of bankruptcy of insurance companies in modern conditions of doing business allows to define the real situation of the insurer in the market and to reveal critical moments in activity. As a matter of fact, the earth models were started for the old enterprises, but is it the land has its own specifics. However, one should take into account that all forecasting methods have their limitations and inaccuracies. For the most complete and accurate analysis it is recommended to rely on the results of three or more different models.

India has recently emerged as a major political and economic power in the world. The financial crisis that engulfed the world in 2008 needed developing countries like India to lead the rescue and recovery, instead of G7 westerns countries who dealt with such crisis in the past. Recently, discussions and negotiations are going amongst G20 countries regarding a new global financial architecture (G-20 Summit, 2008). The outcome will affect the relevant industries in India and hence it is a public interest issue for the actuarial profession in the country. Increased and more intrusive and costly regulations and red tapes are likely to be a part of the new deal (Economic Survey 2009-10). The objective of this paper is to study the perception of higher level authorities in Insurance sector regarding the role of regulator in minimizing the impact of global financial crisis. The primary data has been collected from 200 authorities in insurance industry. The data has been analyzed with statistical tools like MS-Excel. On the basis of the findings, various measures and policy recommendations for insurers have been suggested to minimize the impact of crisis.

The article studies the financial stability of a particular insurance organization. The financial stability of the insurance company is an essential component of its activities and characterizes the ability to pay off its obligations on time and in full. The analysis of financial stability is defined as an independent object of evaluation, which explores the structure of the formation and use of capital. To assess the financial stability of the insurance company, a set of indicators was formed, including the following ratios: level of equity, ratio of equity to liabilities, ratio of insurance premiums and insurance reserves, ratio of working capital and non-current capital, level of permanent capital, ratio of equity and insurance reserves, level of debt load, level of insurance reserves. The insurance public joint-stock company RESO-Garantia was chosen as the object of analysis. The analysis showed that the capital structure in the insurance company under consideration is not optimal. The company has a shortage of insurance reserves, which is offset by equity.
