The article presents a comprehensive approach to assessing the quality of the application andreinforcing anti-friction coatings in one technological cycle of technology recovery of crankshafts.Found that the use of methods of hardening and application wear-resistance coating must complysatisfactory level of performance tribosystems with acceptable processability, maintainability andeconomical efficiency processes of manufacturing and repair detail. Use of protective coatings in themanufacture and renovation of machinery parts makes demands for coatings and technologies for theirapplication, the need to ensure receipt of the surface layer with stable physical and mechanical properties.Proposed to assess the quality crankshafts, which were manufactured and repaired by applyingprotective coatings, using a structural model of implementation of decisions on technology selection of theapplication covering layer and cause-effect diagram to identify the factors that affect the quality of thecoating.

Abstract Presented are results of a preliminary research on determining a possibility to use microwave radiation for drying casting protective coatings applied on patterns used in the lost foam technology. Taken were measurements of permittivity ετ and loss factor tgδ at 2.45 GHz, as well as attempts were made of microwave drying of a protective coating based on aluminium silicates, applied on shapes of foamed polystyrene and rigid polymeric foam. Time and results of microwave drying were compared with the results obtained by drying at 50 °C by the traditional method commonly used for removing water from protective coatings. Analysis of the obtained drying kinetics curves demonstrated that selection of proper operation parameters of microwave equipment permits the drying time to be significantly shortened. Depending on kind of the pattern material, drying process of a protective coating runs in a different way, resulting in obtaining different quality of the dried coating.

This article develops a fundamentally new approach in the selection of optimal methods for restoring of worn surfaces of agricultural machines’ tools with the formation and application of technological repair units. Based on the systematization and linkage of modular worn-out surfaces, their operating conditions, technological environment and the choice of their optimal combinations, it found a low-cost method of restoring details with white cast iron to gain a necessary quality of a new surface layer.

Dependences for determining geometric, physical and mechanical parameters of the surface layer quality, wear resistance, corrosion rate and endurance limit depending on the modes and conditions of electroerosion treatment of machine parts have been given. These dependences allow determining optimal modes and conditions of electroerosion treatment to ensure the required parameters of the quality of the surface layer (with a two–stage approach - design and technological support of operational properties), wear resistance, corrosion rate and endurance limit (with a single-stage approach - direct technological support).

Abstract High-manganese cast steels are characterised by a high abrasion resistance under friction conditions with a simultaneous influence of pressure and impacts. This cast steel is especially suitable for castings of excavator’s scoops, track links, streetcars crossovers, parts of crushers and mills for braking up of hard materials [1-4]. In order to obtain high quality castings of high-manganese cast steels in moulds on the high-silica sand matrices it is necessary to apply protective coatings, which prevent a direct contact between metal and matrix (SiO2). Manganese after being poured into a mould can undergo a partial oxidation forming MnO, which reacts with silica. As a result low-melting manganese silicates are formed, which in a form of a tight layer adhere to the casting surface, significantly increasing a labour input related to cleaning. Three kinds of protective coatings were tested: zirconium, corundum and magnesite. As a base moulding sands on high-silica sand matrices with three kinds of resol resins were applied. The quality of the obtained casting surface was assessed in dependence of the protective coating and resin kind and also in dependence of the metallostatic pressure value.

The paper reflects the relevance of hardening the working surfaces of the tool, where the surface layer plays a fundamental role. The main factors determining the wear resistance of the tool and their influence on the quality of the processed surface are analyzed. The purpose of the research is to study the effect of laser modification of tool alloys on wear resistance and on the roughness parameters of the machined surface. A small-sized drill bit (steel P6M5) and carbide inserts T15K6 are used as objects of research. The paper presents the results of experimental studies on the impact of laser radiation on the microstructure of materials, indices of wear resistance and quality parameters of the treated surface. It is established that there is a certain relationship between these indices. The modes of laser modification of the tool most acceptable for practical use are determined. Along with an increase in the wear resistance of a metal-cutting tool, a manifestation of the effect of an increase in surface roughness indices is found and experimentally confirmed. It is established that hardening of the surface layer is caused by structural and phase transformations with enhanced physical and mechanical properties, and the roughness indices depend on the degree of dispersion (amorphization) of the modified layer.

A process of friction plating was developed for modification of the surface of metal items by strain hardening combined with application of protective coatings aimed to improve corrosion resistance, hardness, wear resistance and other functional properties. Friction plating is performed by means of a metal wire brush rotating at high speed. Coating material in the form of a rod or strip is pressed with a certain force to the rotary wire brush. In the contact zone, coating material is heated up to a high temperature. Particles of coating material are picked up by the ends of brush wires and transferred onto the treated surface. At the same time, the surface of the product is conditioned and heated. Investigations of friction plating have shown that plastic deformation of the surface layer combined with application of coating material particles ensures their strong adhesion to the substrate.

To improve the quality of life of communities, local government provides municipal services, including the sewer collection, effectively and efficiently employing asset management best practices. The condition assessment of assets (including the sewer collection system) is one of the core elements of implementing effective asset management across the utility organizations. Availability of sophisticated and complex condition assessment technologies, lack of common understanding about them and related high cost associated with sewer condition assessment requires the technologies and related knowledge to be explicitly defined in a neutral format-the ontology, to support the development of applications for technology selection. An ontology of condition assessment technologies for sewer network, CATS_Onto was developed following a seven-step approach at two levels of abstraction: meta-model and detailed ontology. This paper presents the development and verification of the meta-model. The proposed ontology will be used to develop a tool for the selection of the most appropriate technology for sewer condition assessment. The knowledge representation was verified while validation is underway.

Возможность управления качеством продукции, улучшение эксплуатационных характеристик, адгезии, износостойкости являются приоритетными направлениями в лакокрасочной промышленности. Один из способов влияния на качество лакокрасочных материалов (ЛКМ) – введение высокодисперсных добавок (ВДД) в полимерную основу. В работе осуществлялся подбор ВДД и способ их введения в краску с целью улучшения ее износостойкости, что важно при использовании, например, для дорожной разметки. Было изучено влияние трех типов ВДД: электровзрывного оксида алюминия, ультрадисперсных алмазов детонационного синтеза и оксида алюминия – глинозема (техногенные отходы Ачинского глиноземного комбината). Наибольший интерес в качестве высокодисперсной добавки для улучшения износостойкости полученных композитов представляет электровзрывной оксид алюминия. Установлено, что введение 0,05 масс. % взрывного Al2O3 позволяет увеличить износостойкость в лабораторных условиях на 25 % при сохранении других эксплуатационных характеристик в пределах требования нормативных документов. The ability to manage product quality, improve performance, adhesion, and wear resistance are priorities in the paint and varnish industry. One of the ways to influence the quality of paint and varnish materials (LCM) is the introduction of highly dispersed additives (HDA) into the polymer base. In the work, the selection of HDA and the method of its introduction into the paint was carried out in order to improve its wear resistance, which is important when used, for example, for road markings. The influence of three types of HDA was studied: electroexplosive aluminum oxide, ultrafine diamonds of detonation synthesis, and aluminum oxide-alumina (technogenic waste of the Achinsk alumina combine). Electroexplosive aluminum oxide is of the greatest interest as a highly dispersed additive for improving the wear resistance of the obtained composites. It was found that the introduction of 0.05 wt. % explosive Al2O3 allows you to increase the wear resistance in the laboratory by 30% while maintaining other properties.

Cassava chips are a daily staple food for the community, cassava chips have a distinctive form that has never been changed since the first time they were made, namely a circular flat with a crispy texture. Cassava chips are food products made from cassava which have been known for a long time in Indonesia, cassava chips are also widely favored by the Indonesian people because they have a delicious, nutritious taste and the price is also affordable. Based on observations at SMEs know in the village of Manggar, Sluke District, Rembang Regency. It is known that the process of making cassava chips through various stages, ranging from the selection of cassava, cassava stripping and cassava cutting to pressing. In Mubarok UKM the cutting process is only done in 3 hours a day and in one month it is only done in 15 days. In Mubarok UKM, the cutting process still uses a simple tool, namely a knife, and a thread cutter by hand as the motor. With existing tools in UKM there are process constraints that are manual and require a long time, the resulting output is a little with a long time and the quality of pieces that are not uniform and the tools used are less ergonomic, the size of the tool, the tool still causes workers to be diseased, causing a decrease productivity. In this case I designed a tool for cassava cutters to improve the effectiveness and productivity of the MSME. The method used in the design of the tool is methodological. The rational method is one of the product design methods that uses a systematic approach at each stage to produce potential solutions. . Kripik singkong merupakan makanan pokok sehari-hari bagi masyarakat, kripik singkong memilikinbentuknyangnkhas yang tidak pernah diubah sejak pertama kali pembuatannya yaitu pipih melingkar dengan tekstur yang renyah. Kripik singkong merupakan produk makanan berbahan bakunsingkongnyang sudah dikenal sejaknlama dinIndonesia, kripik singkong juga banyak digemari oleh masyarakat Indonesia karena memiliki cita rasa yang nikmat, bergizi tinggi dan harganya juga terjangkau. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di UKM kripik singkong di desa Manggar, Kecamatan Sluke, Kabupaten Rembang. Diketahui proses pembuatan kripik singkong melalui berbagai tahapan, mulai dari pemilihan singkong, pengupasan singkong dan pemotongan singkong sampai dengan pengepresan. Di UKM Mubarok proses pemotongan hanya dilakukan dalam 3 jam saja dalam sehari dan dalam satu bulan hanya dikerjakan dalam 15 hari. Di UKM Mubarok proses pemotongan masih menggunakan alat sederhana yaitu pisau, dan pemotong ulir dengan menggunakan tangan sebagai motornya. Dengan alat yang ada pada UKM terdapat kendala prosesnya yang manual dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama, output yang dihasilkan sedikit dengan waktu yang cukup lama dan kualitas potongan yang tidak seragam dan alat yang digunakan kurang ergonomis, ukuran alat, alat masih menimbulkan kelelahan pekerja sehingga menimbulkan menurunnya produktivitas. Dalam hal ini saya merancang alat untuk pemotong singkong guna meningkatkan efektifitas dan prduktivitas UMKM tersebut. Metode yang digunakanndalamnperancangan alatntersebutnadalah metodenrasional. Metode rasional merupakan salah satu metode perancangan produk yang menggunakan pendekatan sistematis dalam tiap tahapan untuk menghasilkan solusi yang potensial. .
