AbstractApparel industry is not only one of the oldest, largest, labor-intensive, and most global industries but also the typical “starter” industry for countries engaged in export-orientated industrialization. To achieve such dreams, the industry has looked over different inter-dependable factors while producing different products. In this study, an effort has been made to establish a correlation between standard allowed minutes (SAMs) and efficiency of sewing section using different variables, including production rate, number of workstations, and operation breakdown, having a differential impact on both the selected variables. All the empirical analyses were planned in a vertically integrated textile company called Almeda Textile Private Limited Company (PLC), Ethiopia, starting from the basic product category (such as V-neck shirt) up to complicated workwear including military clothing and federal police uniforms of Ethiopia. The Pearson correlation coefficient method was chosen to find the relationship between bivariate linearly scaled variables using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The expected outcome will help in identifying the type of correlation and its significant level as well as its impact on the overall productivity of the sewing section which eventually leads to fulfilling the mission of attaining sustainable production capacity of the mentioned vertically integrated manufacturing company.

Introduction The nursing literature is silent about the relationship between ethical leadership, nurses’ flourishing, and extra-role behavior. This study was carried out to contribute to the relevant field research. Objective The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between nurses’ perceptions of their nursing managers’ ethical leadership behavior, nurses’ flourishing, and their extra-role behavior. Methods This was a cross-sectional study involving 302 nurses from six hospitals in Damietta City, Egypt. Data were collected using the following three self-report scales: Ethical Leadership at Work questionnaire, Flourishing Scale, and extra-role behavior scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical, Pearson correlation, regression analysis and the structure equation model. Results There was a significant positive relationship between nursing managers’ ethical leadership, nurses’ flourishing, and extra-role behavior. The regression analysis showed that the ethical leadership of nursing managers and nurses’ flourishing predict extra-role behavior. Conclusion Nurses with a high level of flourishing and who work with a manager exhibiting ethical leadership behavior are more likely to activate extra-role behavior. Hence, it is recommended that nursing managers embrace an ethical approach in their leadership practices and promote flourishing among nurses to encourage them to go the extra the mile in their jobs.

This study was conducted to identify the teacher skill level and attitude towards the use of multimedia in the teaching and learning of the Holy Koran for Autism students. This study was conducted using a set of questionnaires that were completed by 40 teachers who teach in the Integrated Special Education Program (PPKI) class selected by random. These quantitative data from the questionnaire were analyzed descriptively through SPSS software, version 22 to obtain the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Pearson correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between skill level and teacher attitude towards using multimedia in the teaching and learning of the Holy Koran for Autism students. The results of the analysis of the study found that the teacher skill level (M=3.63, SD.=0.82) and teacher attitude (M=3.80, SD.=0.71) were at a moderate and high level. Meanwhile, this study also shows that there is a significant relationship between skill level and teacher attitude. Indeed, the teacher skill level and attitude towards using multimedia in teaching is positive but has weaknesses in terms of the application of multimedia items. Thus, while conducting the teaching process, a teacher must take into account the skill level to be applied and the readiness of the teacher attitude to build a multimedia-based teaching process to be more effective.

This preliminary study explored the relationship between positive psychological capital and job involvement among 100 male and 32 female officers of armed forces. It was hypothesised that officers with higher levels of PsyCap would also exhibit higher job involvement. The study also aimed to investigate whether gender differences in psycap had any influence on job involvement. Psychological capital questionnaire and job involvement scale were administered on the sample. Data was analysed using descriptive and inferential (Pearson correlation and regression analysis) statistics. It is found there is no evidence in support of gender difference in psycap. Psycap has a role in maintaining the job involvement among male officers. Implications of the findings and suggestions for developing positive behaviours which will be of great value to meet future leadership challenges in light of complex and volatile military situations.

e19101 Background: Carboplatin is a commonly used drug in stage III/IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Its dose in typically calculated with the Calvert equation that uses the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) from various predictive formulae such as MDRD, Cockroft-Gault, Jeliffe and Wright as well as the targeted area under the curve (AUC) for carboplatin. Myelosuppression is a common toxicity of carboplatin and this study aimed to assess the relationship between dosing and toxicity as well as if there would be any significant difference in dosing based on calculation of GFR from the above formulae in our patient population. Methods: Data from patients with Stage III and IV NSCLC seen between 1/1/99 to 12/31/2007 were analyzed. Patients who received concurrent radiation, who died before the first cycle was completed, as well as patients with missing lab values were excluded. Only the first cycle of the carboplatin based regime was used for analysis with nadir platelets, hemoglobin and wbc's used as endpoints. SPSS software was used for statistical analysis including Pearson correlation, ANCOVA, independent t-tests as well as multivariate linear regression models. Results: Of the 216 patients initially abstracted for analysis only 132 patients were analyzable. Demographically 71 were Caucasian and rest were African-American while 92 were male. The carboplatin dose calculated from all four formulae were highly correlated (p < 0.0001). The drop in the three cell counts were correlated to each other (p< 0.05), particularly the drop in platelet count with other two cell counts. The correlation between the drop in wbc and drop in hemoglobin approached significance (p=0.075). The nadir wbc was significantly associated with BSA (p=0.004), wbc level at baseline (p< 0.000) and approached significance for carboplatin dose (p=0.059) by ANCOVA analysis, while significance was not reached for nadir platelets or nadir hemoglobin. Conclusions: The different predictive equations resulted in similar doses of carboplatin that were statistically significant. BSA correlated significantly with myelosuppression while carboplatin dose only approached significance. No significant financial relationships to disclose.
