The relevance of the article is due to the need to study the effectiveness of new organizational and methodological techniques and technologies for improving the language training of junior students. Nowadays, it is necessary to pay special attention to the cultural-didactic and social-psychological aspects of the educational process when mastering this competence to achieve a high level of knowledge of students’ possession of the communicative cross-cultural competence provided by the new FSES.
The idea of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) has attracted a lot of media attention in the last couple of years. MOOCs have been used mostly as stand-alone online courses without credits. However, some researchers, teachers, colleges, and universities have attempted to utilize MOOCs in blended format in traditional classroom settings. This paper reviews some recent experiments in the context of current trends in MOOCs by examining methodologies utilized in blended MOOCs in a face-to-face environment. This paper further discusses the preliminary findings related to its effectiveness of learning outcomes and its impact on students and instructors in blended MOOCs format. The review of blended MOOCs in classrooms assists to form the emerging consensus on integrating MOOCs in conventional classroom settings, while highlighting potential opportunities and challenges one might face when implementing MOOCs in similar or entirely different contexts.

Online and hybrid courses are characterized by the use of technologies teaching support and student-centered methodologies. In particular, the use of content authoring, storage, distribution, and presentation technologies has contributed to the emergence of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), such as Moodle, and MOOCS (Massive Open Online Course), such as EdX. However, those types of courses still suffers from problems involving student engagement. To improve this engagement, this article discusses the proposal of a Deep Learning as a Service (DLaS) called EVGAS (Educational Video Gamification As a Service). More precisely, EVGAS is a service for recommending and gamifying activities in existing educational VLE videos. First, EVGAS uses Deep Learning techniques to classify videos from an AVA. Then, it accesses repositories of activities, such as Khan Academy and UVA OnlineJudge, in order to select activities according to the topics classified from the videos. Finally, EVGAS adds VLA activities and gamification. It allows the teacher to monitor student progress, including in relation to each topic of the video. As a result, this paper presents high level requirements and an EVGAS Mockup.

The implementation of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) in the educational field has become the way of learning in many educational institutions worldwide. MOOC is believed could help to promote active learning among language learners. In Malaysian polytechnic settings, MOOC has just recently implemented for the English course. Thus, this study aimed to investigate polytechnics English as a Second Language (ESL) lecturers' acceptance of using Massive Open Online Course for teaching ESL and the challenges they faced in using MOOC. The methodology used was the survey method where a set of questionnaires was developed and adapted from the Technology Acceptance Model. The respondents for this study were 34 ESL lecturers from different polytechnics in Malaysia. The findings revealed that polytechnic ESL lecturers have positive perceptions towards the ease of use and usefulness of MOOC for teaching ESL. The investigation also revealed the challenges faced by the lecturers in using MOOC for teaching ESL. The results would contribute positively to the policy makers, developers, and administrators to gain more insight on the lecturers' perceptions and challenges related to the use of technology for language teaching and learning in any higher learning institutions.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relation between seventh-grade students' quadrilaterals achievement levels and Van Hiele geometric thinking levels. Survey method was used. The sample of the study was 160 students from the three different districts of Kayseri, as Melikgazi, İncesu, and Tomarza. Van Hiele geometric thinking test and quadrilaterals achievement test, which was developed by the first researcher, were used to collect the data. Descriptive statistics such as mean, frequency, and standard deviation and percentage tables Pearson correlation analysis which was applied to analyze the relationship between the quadrilaterals achievement test and Van Hiele geometry thinking test scores of the seventh-grade students and independent samples t-test was used to for analysis. The results of the study indicated that Van Hiele geometric thinking levels of the seventh school students were lower than expected levels. A high level of correlation was found between quadrilaterals achievement levels and their Van Hiele geometric thinking levels of the seventh-grade students. As a result of the study, quadrilaterals achievement test and Van Hiele geometric thinking test were measuring the students’ geometric abilities in the same direction.

The purpose of this study is to investigate sport center members' perceived service quality levels with a view to Kano customer expectations and requirements model. To that end, a descriptive approach and a correlational research design featuring survey method is adopted. Research group consists of 680 (300 women, 380 men) sport center members who are chosed through multistage sampling (Cluster). “Sport Fitness Centers Perceived Service Quality Scale and Expectation Scale are used as data collection tools. Independent samples t-test, Pearson Correlation analysis and Multiple Linear Regression tests are used to analyzed the data. In the light of the findings, it is seen that all the subdimensions have medium or high level positive significant relationships with the expectation when the subdimensions of the expectation scale and the SFC-PSQS are compared.According to the results of the Independent Samples T-test, the expectation levels of the customers stating that the programme fee is expensive are significantly lower. In conclusion, as the customers’ perception of service quality in the sport center increases, their expectation levels also generally increase significantly. The customers expect that the quality of service they receive to be high and to meet their expectations exceedingly. However, it is also predicted that physical and psychosocial factors affecting the expectation can also affect the perception of service quality at a significant level. Since the service quality and meeting the expectations of the customers is an important indicator to maintain the businesses’ existence, studying with multiple factors attempting to understand the nature of service quality and the customer expectations should be conducted.
