This article substantiates the importance of professional socialization of students of a technical university. It is the student age, due to its age-related mental and personal characteristics, that all types of socialization occur intensively. Consequently, students are considered as the most favorable period for professional socialization. In addition, the article analyzes the scientific sources of literature in terms of the definition of the concept of "professional socialization". A huge role in the training of qualified personnel is played by higher education, which lays the basic foundation for the personal and professional development of the younger generation, in whose hands is the future of society and the country as a whole. It should be noted that thanks to the study of humanities at a technical university, it is possible to implement such methods of working with students that will ensure successful professional socialization of junior students at the training stage, form personal qualities and increase the level of professional training. Using the example of specific humanities disciplines, such as "Communication in professional activity", "Business communication" and "Psychology of professional activity", the article presents work with junior students, which forms the social formation of a student's personality and is part of the process of professional socialization.

This study looks at the variability of accounting students’ perceptions in Indonesia on the importance of IT competence and IT responsibility for accountants and the importance of IT sustainability practices. This study measures different perceptions of accounting students based on gender (male and female), year of study (junior and senior), and the type of university (public and private). The majority of accounting students agree with the importance of accountants’ role in IT sustainability practices by utilizing information systems. However, differences in perceptions of accountants’ IT responsibility, accountants’ IT competence, and the importance of IT sustainability practice are found in the senior and junior student groups. This finding results in junior students being higher than senior students in understanding the importance of the accountants’ role in the IT sustainability practice. Differences were also found in the groups of students from public and private universities, where students in public universities have a higher perception than students in private universities toward IT sustainability issues. There is no difference in perception in the gender group. This study can be helpful for higher education providers and teachers in accounting who play an essential role in supporting students to understand the practical implementation in accounting professions regarding their role in sustainability through the utilization of information technology.

This paper has adopted a quantitative approach to carry out a linguistic study, within the theoretical framework of dependency grammar. Translation is a process where source language and target language interact with each other. The present study aims at exploring the feasibility of mean dependency distance as a metric for automated translation quality assessment. The current research hypothesized that different levels of translation are significantly different in the aspect of mean dependency distance. Data of this study were based on the written translation in Parallel Corpus of Chinese EFL Learners which was composed of translations from Chinese EFL learners in various topic. The translations were human-scored to determine the levels of translation, according to which the translations were categorized. Our results indicated that: (1) senior students perform better in translation than junior students, and mean dependency distance of translations from senior group is significantly shorter than the junior; (2) high quality translations yield shorter mean dependency distance than the low quality translations; (3) mean dependency distance of translations is moderately correlated with the human score. The resultant implication suggests the potential for mean dependency distance in differentiating translations of different quality.

Introduction. Achieving a qualitatively new state of society largely depends on the formation of the creative potential of young specialists capable of transforming, developing and implementing original solutions to professional and personal tasks, in connection with which the development of mechanisms for the formation of a professional capable of transforming the world and oneself seems to be very relevant. The authors propose to organize joint activities to solve creative problems in the form of a system of training sessions for the development of the creative potential of the personality of students. Materials and methods. The study involved 200 junior students of Volgograd universities, boys and girls aged 18-20 years, humanitarian and natural science areas of training. The main statistical calculations were performed using the analysis of nonparametric data using the chi-square test for the analysis of frequency differences, as well as using the statistical Mann-Whitney U test. The results of the study. Statistically significant significant differences were revealed according to the Mann-Whitney U-test (at p <0.05) between the values of the scales of the experimental and control groups of students according to the following indicators: the index of verbal originality (p = 0.033); the index of verbal uniqueness (p = 0.026); the number of responses produced (p = 0.008); striving for creativity and creativity (p = 0.026), expert assessment of creative potential (p = 0.041). The diagnostic indicators allowed us to conclude that students in the humanitarian areas of training more often demonstrate a high level of originality and productivity of verbal constructions, they are characterized by the spontaneity inherent in a self-actualizing personality. Students of natural science areas of training are more often looking for new ways of thinking, they have a more pronounced desire for self-development. Conclusions. Purposeful, organized joint activities in the form of training aimed at the formation of knowledge, skills and abilities of collective solution of creative problems, has shown effectiveness in solving the problem of developing the creative potential of future specialists.

Statement of the problem. The article deals with the issue of the peculiarities of the formation of mathematical training of schoolchildren and students of the Republic of Tyva. The problem is caused by the bilingualism that has historically developed in the Republic: education at the university is conducted in Russian, while a significant part of students who have come from remote regions of Tuva do not speak Russian well, which complicates the acquisition of educational material. In this regard, the problem of developing a mathematics course for university students is actualized which would take into account the specifics of Tuvan-Russian bilingualism. The purpose of the article. The aim of the article is to provide guidelines for the development of an adaptive e-learning course in mathematics for engineering students, taking into account the level of Russian language proficiency by junior students. Methodology (materials and methods). The research methodology is based on the analysis of the features of Russian-Tuvan bilingualism, which affect the process of mathematical preparation of schoolchildren and students of the Republic from the standpoint of a competence approach and taking into account both the ethnopedagogical specifics of modern education and existing approaches in the field of adaptive learning in electronic educational systems. Research results. The issue of mathematical training of schoolchildren and students of Tuva has been analyzed from the standpoint of the Tuvan-Russian bilingualism historically formed in the Republic of Tuva. It is shown that the insufficient level of Russian language proficiency by junior students is a certain obstacle to studying mathematics at university. To teach future engineers mathematics it is proposed to develop and use an adaptive e-learning course in this subject, capable of taking into account, among other things, the student’s current level of Russian language proficiency. The article reflects the results of an empirical study of individual psychological characteristics of students of various ethnic groups in the process of adaptation to living conditions in student dormitories. This work is due to the need to expand the field of research of interaction in the intra-university environment by including an interethnic component. This takes into account the main features of the Astrakhan region, which traditionally unites representatives of various ethnic groups on its territory. The study used psychodiagnostic techniques: 1) multilevel personality questionnaire "Adaptability" (A.G. Maklakov, S.V. Chermyanin); 2) the methodology "Determination of integral forms of communicative aggressiveness" (V.V. Boyko); 3) express questionnaire "Index of Tolerance". (G.U. Soldatova, O.A. Kravtsova, O.E. Khukhlaev, L.A. Shaigerova). Analysis of the research results allows us to conclude that groups with different levels of adaptability differ in terms of such an indicator as "aggressiveness", that is, junior students with such a personality trait as aggressiveness have less ability to adapt to a new environment, including to conditions living in student hostels. In the intra-university environment, the study of interethnic interaction can become the key to understanding the causes and dynamics of emerging conflict situations. In this regard, we see the possibility of using the results of the empirical research in the practice of resolving interethnic conflicts in the intra-university environment.

Despite the great attention paid to Internet literacy research, little has been done to overcome the problems stemming from the heterogeneity of Internet literacy nomenclature and the use of non-standardized measurement tools, especially for adolescents in developing countries. Considering junior students are the high-risk groups of Internet addiction and have wide access to the Internet, the aim of this study is to develop a new scale to assess Chinese junior students’ Internet literacy (JIL). In the psychometric study (n = 1099 junior students), an 18-item scale was developed using the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, which includes five subscales: knowledge and skills for the Internet (KSI), Internet self-management (ISM), awareness and cognition of Internet (ACI), Internet interactions (II), and autonomous learning on the Internet (ALI). Evidence of internal reliability, test-retest reliability, and construct validity provided good psychometric support for the measure. Criterion-related validity of the measures was demonstrated by examining its anticipated theoretical relations to two hypotheses: (1) High JIL level alleviates the adverse effects of an individual’s Internet addiction degree, while pathological use for interacting with others on the Internet exacerbates the adverse effects; (2) an individual’s degree of Internet use self-efficacy is positively associated with JIL level. It is envisaged that the JIL Scale will help facilitate unified research in the field.
