Early childhood development is important and needs to be developed especially in education. Oneaspect that needs to be developed in early childhood education is the ability to recognize the conceptof numbers. Therefore, it takes a strategy in learning to introduce the concept of numbers. This studyaims to develop students ability in recognizing the concept of numbers 1-10 by using a number card. The type of research used is quasi experimental design (quasi experiment). The quasi experimentaldesign used in this study is a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The results of thisstudy were analyzed by the T test conducted using the help of SPSS program. Based on the results ofresearch conducted obtained with sig (0,000) <0.05 which means there is a difference between the experimental group with the control group in recognizing the concept of numbers by using a number card. So it can be concluded that the number cards have an influence in improving the ability torecognize the numbers in children group A.

Background: Birth weight is a significant determinant of newborn survival. In neonatal deaths, LBW is the underlying cause in 60-80% cases. This study was aimed to assess whether preterm infants receiving Multisensory intervention had more rapid weight gain compared to control group infants during NICU stay. Methods: Subjects for the study were preterm infants between 32 to 37 weeks of gestation age with birth weight between 1500 g to 2500 g and staying in NICU. Participants meeting inclusion criteria were randomly divided into either experimental group (n=15) or control group (n=15). The experimental group received Multisensory stimulation such as Auditory, Tactile, Visual and Vestibular stimulation for 10 consecutive days (15 min. /day) in NICU. Control group received routine NICU care. Weight was measured using an electronic weighing scale at day-1, day-5 and day-10 of intervention in both the groups and collected data was analysed. Results: The preterm infants of the experimental group had shown better growth than those in the control group with statistically significant differences (p<0.05) between the study and the control group at end of 10 days of intervention. Conclusions: From Analysed data, it is concluded that 5-day of Multisensory intervention could not elicit statistically significant improvement in weight gain, but 10 days intervention could elicit significant improvement. The result supports the use of multisensory intervention as a cost-effective therapy to promote growth.

The target of this research was to examine whether or not the effects of CLM improved eleventh graders’ essay writing skills in terms of vocabularies and grammars. The quasi-experimental research was employed and the sample population was taken from two sections of eleventh grade. The CLM was implemented in the experimental group after the students had been made to have awareness about it whereas in the control group, the students were taught their lessons based on the usual lesson plan in which the elements of the method were not used. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests. Dependent t-tests were employed to test whether or not there were significant intra-group differences on the vocabularies and grammars in essay writing skills at 0.05 risk levels whereas independent samples t-tests were used to check if there were significant inter-group differences on the vocabularies and grammars in essay writing skills at 0.05 alpha levels. The analyses of the vocabularies and grammars in essay writing skills pre-test of the inter-groups showed that both groups had similar backgrounds in writing vocabularies and grammars in essays at the initial stage of this research. Nevertheless, after the treatments had been given to the experimental research participants, the analyses of the data indicated that the experimental group outscored significantly (p<0.05) the control group in writing vocabularies and grammars in essay writing post-test. This indicates that the effects of CLM brought about changes on the experimental group. Therefore, the major findings of this study reveal that the CLM enabled the participants in the experimental group to show improvements in writing vocabularies and grammars in essays.

Stroke is the third-largest common cause of death and is the leading cause of adult impairment. Shoulder subluxation is a common complication after a stroke and has always been a challenge, making the motor and functional recovery more complicated. Sixty-nine per cent of people affect with an arm in stroke, and the critical aim of stroke therapy is to recover their arm function. Motor impairments such as flaccidity and spasticity may make a patient functionally dependent on another person for their ADL, particularly in the upper extremity for a long time. Also, these motor impairments can address other problems such as subluxation of the shoulder and pain. To evaluate the effect of NDT along with FES in the management of shoulder dysfunction following stroke. A quasi-experimental study involved 70 consecutive subjects age (30-60 years) affected by stroke recruited in the study. They are divided into two groups Group A (experimental group, N=35) and Group B (control group, N=35). Group A received NDT along with FES, and Group B received NDT treatment. Treatment was given five days a week for six weeks. The analysis of the study showed a statistically significant difference in shoulder pain, and subluxation in the experimental group (Group A) compared to the control group (Group A). FES is effective in reducing shoulder pain and subluxation early after stroke. Hence NDT along with FES is more effective than NDT alone.

Exposure is one of the obvious obstacles in the process of teaching and learning English. In figuring out one prospective exposure in students’ daily life, this study investigates the effect of newspapers as a medium in enhancing students’ English achievement, especially writing skill. The objective of this study is to find out whether students assigned to read English newspapers write better than those who are not. The subjects of the study were 85 English department students who were randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group. A quasi-experimental was employed in this study. For six executive weeks, before the students were asked to write, the students in the experimental group were assigned to read English newspapers, whereas then students in the control group were not.  By using Mann-Whitney and one-way ANOVA tests, the results of this study show insignificant results (0, 273; 0,194; and 0,179). As the high proficient students also could not take the newspapers for their learning benefits, affective and intrinsic factors such as awareness and willingness had to be considered.

KWL is a pre-reading strategy used to improve reading comprehension. This paper aims to discover the effectiveness of the Know-Want-Learn (KWL) strategy in improving year-4 pupils’ reading comprehension is one of the elements assessed in the UPSR Examination in Malaysia. This study reports quasi-experimental research on the use of a KWL chart (graphic organizer) on year 4 pupils’ reading comprehension in an ESL setting. Thirty pupils were chosen using purposive sampling in a primary school at Kuala Lumpur. The test was conducted with 30 ESL pupils of the same age group. A pretest of reading comprehension was then administered to evaluate the participants’ comprehension skills. The Quasi-experimental research design used to carry out this study. Participants were separated into two different groups: an experimental group and a control group. The participants of the experimental group used the KWL Chart to answer comprehension questions; the control group received the conventional method of teaching to answer reading comprehension questions. At last, all the participants answered a post-test on reading comprehension. This innovative strategy can be used to develop pupils’ reading comprehension not only for pupils in year-4 but also for pupils at other levels
