Modern browsers give access to several attributes that can be collected to form a browser fingerprint. Although browser fingerprints have primarily been studied as a web tracking tool, they can contribute to improve the current state of web security by augmenting web authentication mechanisms. In this article, we investigate the adequacy of browser fingerprints for web authentication. We make the link between the digital fingerprints that distinguish browsers, and the biological fingerprints that distinguish Humans, to evaluate browser fingerprints according to properties inspired by biometric authentication factors. These properties include their distinctiveness, their stability through time, their collection time, their size, and the accuracy of a simple verification mechanism. We assess these properties on a large-scale dataset of 4,145,408 fingerprints composed of 216 attributes and collected from 1,989,365 browsers. We show that, by time-partitioning our dataset, more than 81.3% of our fingerprints are shared by a single browser. Although browser fingerprints are known to evolve, an average of 91% of the attributes of our fingerprints stay identical between two observations, even when separated by nearly six months. About their performance, we show that our fingerprints weigh a dozen of kilobytes and take a few seconds to collect. Finally, by processing a simple verification mechanism, we show that it achieves an equal error rate of 0.61%. We enrich our results with the analysis of the correlation between the attributes and their contribution to the evaluated properties. We conclude that our browser fingerprints carry the promise to strengthen web authentication mechanisms.

There is emerging evidence that non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) within maternal breast milk (MBM) impart unique metabolic and immunologic effects on developing infants. Most studies examining ncRNAs in MBM have focused on microRNAs. It remains unclear whether microRNA levels are related to other ncRNAs, or whether they are impacted by maternal characteristics. This longitudinal cohort study examined 503 MBM samples from 192 mothers to: 1) identify the most abundant ncRNAs in MBM; 2) examine the impact of milk maturity on ncRNAs; and 3) determine whether maternal characteristics affect ncRNAs. MBM was collected at 0, 1, and 4 months post-delivery. High throughput sequencing quantified ncRNAs within the lipid fraction. There were 3069 ncRNAs and 238 microRNAs with consistent MBM presence (≥10 reads in ≥10% samples). Levels of 17 ncRNAs and 11 microRNAs accounted for 80% of the total RNA content. Most abundant microRNAs displayed relationships ([R]>0.2, adj p< 0.05) with abundant ncRNAs. A large proportion of ncRNAs (1269/3069; 41%) and microRNAs (206/238; 86%) were affected by MBM maturity. The majority of microRNAs (111/206; 54%) increased from 0-4 months. Few ncRNAs and microRNAs were affected (adj p < 0.05) by maternal age, race, parity, body mass index, gestational diabetes, or collection time. However, nearly half of abundant microRNAs (4/11) were impacted by diet. To our knowledge this is the largest study of MBM ncRNAs, and the first to demonstrate a relationship between MBM microRNAs and maternal diet. Such knowledge could guide nutritional interventions aimed at optimizing metabolic and immunologic microRNA profiles within MBM.

Abstract OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects of long-term (30-day) oral administration of melatonin on tear production, intraocular pressure (IOP), and concentration of melatonin in the tears and serum of healthy dogs. ANIMALS 20 healthy sexually intact adult male dogs. PROCEDURES 10 dogs were given melatonin (0.3 mg/kg, PO, q 24 h, administered in food at 9 am), and 10 dogs were given a placebo. Tear and serum melatonin concentrations, IOP, and tear production (determined with a Schirmer tear test) were recorded before (baseline) and 30 minutes, 3 hours, and 5 hours after administration of melatonin or the placebo on day 1 and 30 minutes after administration of melatonin or the placebo on days 8, 15, and 30. RESULTS Data collection time had significant effects on tear production, IOP, and tear melatonin concentration but not on serum melatonin concentration. Treatment (melatonin vs placebo) had a significant effect on tear melatonin concentration, but not on tear production, IOP, or serum melatonin concentration; however, tear melatonin concentration was significantly different between groups only 30 minutes after administration on day 1 and not at other times. CLINICAL RELEVANCE In healthy dogs, long-term administration of melatonin at a dosage of 0.3 mg/kg, PO, every 24 hours did not have any clinically important effects on tear production, IOP, or serum or tear melatonin concentrations.

<p>We use electronic nose data of odor measurements to build machine learning classification models. The presented analysis focused on determining the optimal time of measurement, leading to the best model performance. We observe that the most valuable information for classification is available in data collected at the beginning of adsorption and the beginning of the desorption phase of measurement. We demonstrated that the usage of complex features extracted from the sensors’ response gives better classification performance than use as features only raw values of sensors’ response, normalized by baseline. We use a group shuffling cross-validation approach for determining the reported models’ average accuracy and standard deviation.</p>

This research discusses about stock opname collection at IPDN Kampus Jakarta. The purpose of this study was determining the advantages and disadvantages of stock opname collections. This activity uses a qualitative method in the form of case study. Data collection was conducted by the observation, interview, documentation. There were three informants in this study, namely the principal, teacher, and library staff. The results of this study indicate that the librarian of IPDN Kampus Jakarta did stock opname with the method of list / registration containing the parent number. The advantage of this research is knowing the condition of library materials in order to take eradication measures for collections that are not feasible, so that the development of collections can be done, making it easier to find library materials. On the other hand, it requires a short amount of data collection time, people cannot borrow collections during the activity. It can be concluded that stock opname library collection of IPDN Kampus Jakarta just use the register/ registration method containing the parent number. By doing this stock opname of IPDN Kampus Jakarta, the real collection of library could be found out. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas tentang stock opname di Kampus IPDN Jakarta. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelebihan dan kekurangan dari koleksi stock opname. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berupa studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Ada tiga informan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu kepala sekolah, guru, dan staf perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan Kampus IPDN Jakarta melakukan stock opname dengan metode daftar/registrasi berisi nomor induk. Manfaat dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kondisi bahan pustaka agar dapat dilakukan tindakan pemberantasan terhadap koleksi yang tidak layak, sehingga dapat dilakukan pengembangan koleksi, sehingga memudahkan dalam mencari bahan pustaka. Di sisi lain, membutuhkan waktu pengumpulan data yang singkat, orang tidak dapat meminjam koleksi selama kegiatan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa stock opname koleksi perpustakaan Kampus IPDN Jakarta hanya menggunakan metode register/registrasi yang memuat nomor induk. Dengan melakukan stock opname Kampus IPDN Jakarta ini, dapat diketahui koleksi perpustakaan yang sebenarnya.

Extensive urbanization around the world has resulted in the consumption of massive vegetated areas and natural resources. To this end, one strategy for urban development is to consolidate urban areas. In Balneário Camboriú/SC, Brazil, this trend has transformed the city into a vertical built-up area on its coastal strip, accommodating a large amount of buildings both in terms of quantity and number of floors. This research aims to quantify the thermo-hygrometric fluctuation on the waterfront of Balneário Camboriú, in negative radiation balance. To acquire the data on air temperature (Ta) and relative humidity (RH), two mobile transects and measuring at two fixed points were made in a situation of negative radiation balance on 26 August 2019, in the winter period of the Southern Hemisphere. The collection work began at 06:00:00 a.m. (before sunrise, the peak of the negative radiation balance), on Atlântica Avenue (waterfront) and Brasil Avenue (parallel to the waterfront). It was verified that the Ta varied from 16.0 °C to 19.0 °C, and the RH remained over 80% during the entire route. At the meteorological shelters, the temperature presented a variation from 14.4 °C to 17.7 °C, and the RH ranged from 79.6% to 91.3% between the two points. The spatial variability in the Ta and RH along the paths travelled and at the fixed points is directly related to the land cover, represented especially by the buildings’ verticalization and data collection time.

Abstract Ground-based mid-infrared (MIR) astronomical observations require the removal of the fast time variable components of (a) sky/background variation and (b) array background. Typically, this has been achieved through oscillating the telescope’s secondary mirror a few times a second, a process termed “chopping.” However, chopping reduces on-object photon collection time, imposes stringent demands on the secondary mirror, requires nodding of the telescope to remove the radiative offset imprinted by the chopping, and relies on an often-fixed chop-frequency regardless of the sky conditions in the actual observations. In the 30 m telescope era, secondary mirror chopping is impracticable. However, if the sky and background are sufficiently stable, drift scanning holds the promise to remove the necessity of chopping. In this paper, we report our encouraging drift scanning results using the CanariCam MIR instrument on the 10.4 m Gran Telescopio Canarias and the implications to future instruments and experiments.

This study set out to determine the impacts of a commercial equine enteral nutrition product on fecal pH, buffering capacity (BC) and physical examination variables. Eight healthy horses were randomly allocated to one of two simultaneous experimental groups in a 4×4 Latin square design. Horses were submitted to 12 hours of solid fasting, then fed increasing doses of the test product via nasogastric tube, as follows: 0% (pure water), 50%, 75% and 100% of the daily recommended dose. Test product doses were diluted in water (1:3) and delivered by bolus feeding. Fecal samples were taken directly from the rectal ampulla prior to (T0) and within 3, 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 hours of product administration (T3, T6, T12, T24, T36 and T48 respectively). Within 24 to 36 hours of product administration, fecal pH was near 6 (p = 0.01). However, dose variation had no effect on pH. Product dose and sample collection time had a significant impact (p = 0.00) on buffering capacity at pH 6. The more dramatic drop in pH occurred within 24 to 36 hours of product administration, except in horses receiving the 0% dose (water). At pH 5, buffering capacity was affected by dose but not by sample collection time. Soft fecal consistency, increased intestinal motility and fat droplets in fecal samples were noted in most horses. Fecal pH and buffering capacity assessment are indirect tests. Still, results obtained from these tests were deemed useful for detection of intestinal changes, particularly when combined with physical examination. The product had an impact on faecal pH, buffering capacity and intestinal motility, therefore, it is recommended that the formulation be revised.

A.H Nasution Street is one of the primary arterial roads that  connect between Cileunyi to East Bandung. East Bandung region is one of the areas that chosen by people at Bandung to settle. Therefore during rush hour there is congestion at A.H Nasution Street. The goal of this research is to identify vehicle travel time on A.H Nasution Street, and evaluate each intersection that is one of the major delays on A.H Nasution Street and provide alternative solutions using PTV Vissim. The road sections that reviewed ini this research started from the A.H nasution – Ahmad Yani Intersection until Ditbintekjatan, (Direktorat Bina Teknik Jalan dan Jembatan) with data collection time on Monday, 9th Mar 2020 at 06.00 am – 07.00 am. The existing analysis on A.H Nasution street from West to East has LoS F with vehicle travel time taken for 22 minutes 10 seconds with a delay of 410 seconds, while from East to West has LoS F with vehicle travel time taken for 23 minutes 47 seconds with a delay of 345 seconds. If repairs are made by widening the lane at Sta (0+000) – Sta (0+500) and the the prohibition of turning right at each unsignalized intersection on the section that reviewed, the A.H Nasution street from West to East has a LoS C with vehicle travel time faster with a shorter delay, while from East to West has a LoS D with vehicle travel time faster with a shorter delay.
