This study aimed to explore the development of business strategies in a turbulent business environment. The study involved leaders of several telecommunication business units in Indonesia as research respondents. The research used the descriptive and the explanatory survey method using Partial Least Square-Path Modeling (PLS-PM). The results showed that although the business strategies of the telecommunication companies in Indonesia were included in the good category; however, they were still not optimal because were mostly created through competitive strategy. Whereas, the cooperative strategy turned out to have a more dominant contribution to create superior competitive advantage in a turbulent business environment. The study also discussed problem solving on how the companies should formulate the business strategy in a turbulent business environment and recommended on how to maintain the sustainability of the telecommunication industries in Indonesia.

This study examines the impact of environmental uncertainty and integrative strategy on growth of firm performance through the mediating role of the Business Model Transformation (BMT) strategy of information communication technology (ICT) in Indonesia. The research data was collected from the executive management of ICT through survey research with 30 questionnaire surveys and exploratory study with seven company leaders through in-depth interviews. This study analyzes the suitability of the overall model through causal relationships using Partial Least Square-Path Modeling (PLS-PM). The results show that the BMT predominantly influences the growth of ICT companies. The BMT is predominantly built by the environmental uncertainty (ET) strategy rather than by integrative capability. Thus, companies need to improve their ability and creativity to anticipate and adapt to any uncertainty that unexpectedly results in dynamic competition.

Emotional and social competencies have been shown to be extremely desirable in young people for their successful entry into the labor market. Their development has been studied primarily as a result of formal training in the educational and work domains, whereas relatively little is known about the role played by extracurricular activities in promoting these types of competencies. Non-working personal experiences are often used as proxies to assess the emotional and social competencies of candidates in recruitment and selection phases. However, this inference is not based on clear scientific evidence. Drawing on experiential learning theory, this study investigated empirically the relationship between a range of extracurricular activities (volunteering, cultural activities, experience abroad, sport) and the competency portfolio of graduates. Data were collected from a sample of 324 graduates through a structured survey and a multi-rater assessment of their emotional and social competencies. The results of the Partial Least Square-Path Modeling in general provide support for the positive association between experiential extracurricular activities and emotional and social competencies, although not all relationships are supported. The present study contributes to advance in the understanding of the determinants of emotional and social competencies by examining their relationship with a broad range of extracurricular activities. Moreover, it discusses implications for higher education and human resource management.

One of the effective methods and has great potential in increasing taxpayer compliance is tax reform. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the implementation of e-filing, the quality of tax services, and tax sanctions on the level of compliance of individual taxpayers. The population of this study is an individual taxpayer registered at the Tax Service Office (KPP) Pratama Denpasar Timur, amounting to 108,902 people. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling which takes 100 samples. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires. The analytical method used is Partial Least Square (PLS) Path Modeling with SmartPLS 3.0 analysis tool. The results of this study indicate that the higher the level of use in the application of e-filing, the higher the level of quality of tax services, and the more firm and fair in the application of tax sanctions, the higher the level of compliance of individual taxpayers. Keywords : E-Filing; Service quality; Tax Sanctions; Individual Taxpayer Compliance.

In this paper, we examine the relationship between Human Values and the Urban Environment, and how values are behaviorally instantiated in different environments, through Non-Linear Structural Equation Model based on Partial Least Square. Beginning with a unified framework of the study of values, we analyze its organization, antecedents, covariates and presumed consequences that emerge from the data. Schwartz Model is used because it has a coherent and flexible structure with the measure instrument that has been evolved. Ten categories of Human Values and two dimensions are used to evaluate the Urban Environment. We will prove that the Human Value Conservation, through the dimensions: Conformity, Security and Tradition depends on the perceptions of the Urban Environment, specifically on the dimension Consumption/Esthetic & Social Cohesion. We postulate tentatively that the Human Value Self-Enhancement, through the subdimensions Achievement and Power, it is a variable, which in short and long time, impacts on the Perception of the Urban Environment, specifically on the Perception of the System of Generation and Distribution of Habitat Resource.

The article explores the mechanisms that affect consumers’ interest in luxury clothing innovations. The actual research aims to investigate the effect of status quo and clothing involvement on consumer brand loyalty. More, it was intended to quantify the influence of the level of engagement concerning clothing acquisition and the status quo tendency on the consumers’ level of interest toward innovative luxury fashion products. The models were analyzed through the partial-least square-path modeling method. The results revealed that status quo bias and consumers’ involvement in fashion influence their loyalty to brands and level of innovativeness. The novelty of the present research comes from the analysis of the impact of the status quo manifest variables on consumers’ innovative tendencies. Moreover, it was found that status consumption fully mediates the relationships among the investigated predictors and considered outcome variables. The mediator manifests the highest effect size of all investigated predictors. The actual paper advances research in a direction that was not sufficiently addressed in the past, introducing the status quo construct as the main predictor of peoples’ inclination to be loyal to a brand or to manifest a tendency toward innovativeness. Moreover, the article emphasizes the essential role manifested by social status in foreseeing a behavioral response.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore alternative models of substitutes for leadership. These alternative models are a leadership-only model, substitutes for the leadership-only model and substitutes for the leadership-mediated-effects model. Design/methodology/approach Four occupational groups were targeted, namely, PhD faculty of institutions of higher education, medical doctors who work in district headquarters’ hospitals, licensed pharmacists and certified engineers. Also, a self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data, and 523 usable responses were received. Findings Partial least square path modeling was used for data analysis, and the results of structural models revealed that: the dimensions of transformational leadership significantly affected the followers’ outcomes; a few substitutes for leadership also significantly affected the followers’ outcomes; and, in some cases, substitutes for leadership significantly mediated the relationship between dimensions of transformational leadership and followers’ outcomes. Practical implications Findings of the study provide useful implications to improve the managerial practices of organizational leaders, work design strategies in organizations and overall organizational policies for effective functioning. Other developing countries with similar socio-economic status may use these findings to improve organizational functioning. Originality/value This study makes important contributions to the leadership literature. It tests three alternative models in the domain of substitutes for the leadership theory and tests the separate effects of dimensions of transformational leadership and substitutes for leadership on followers’ work outcomes. Further, it specifies the mediating effects of substitutes for leadership on the dimensions of transformational leadership and followers’ work outcomes. Most important, this study for the first time tests transformational leadership and substitutes for leadership concepts in Pakistani work settings and advances the theoretical and empirical literature in this local context.

Purpose This study aims to examine the relationships between hotel website quality, perceived flow, customer satisfaction and purchase intentions. Furthermore, this study also examines if perceived flow mediates the relationships between hotel website quality, customer satisfaction and purchase intentions. Design/methodology/approach The stimulus-organism-response framework is used as the theoretical framework for this study. A total of 441 valid online questionnaires were collected to empirically test the measurement and structural model using partial least square path modeling approach. The study sample includes hotel guests who booked their hotels via online travel agencies and/or hotel websites. Findings The findings confirm that hotel website quality influences customers’ perceived flow, which in turn, influences their satisfaction and purchase intention. Moreover, perceived flow also mediates the relationships between hotel website quality, customer satisfaction and purchase intentions. Originality/value Hotel website quality, perceived flow, customer satisfaction and purchase intentions altogether are not well understood in current literature despite the important implication for managers, academicians and consumers alike. This study contributes to the field of e-commerce marketing, retailing and e-tourism research.

The study is based on finding the impact of consumer behavior on green manufacturing. The opinion of the consumer has been taken regarding the production of auto components in Delhi NCR. Most of the consumers are not aware of detailed manufacturing processes of the auto componentswhich leads to difficulties in finding the impact of consumer behaviour on production of the products having no direct application. To know the opinion of the consumer, a questionnaire survey is used to observe the consumer awareness and its impact on production of green product. The PLS-PM (partial Least Square-Path Modeling) is used to formulate the structural equation modelling. It was found that the perceived quality and cost of the product influencing consumer behaviour and purchase intention towards green consumptions. Some more green initiatives, advertising and promotion, and social welfare also influence the consumer significantly towards the use of green products.
