In the midst of the industrial revolution 4.0 and the rise of identity politics and populism. Therefore, a policy is needed that brings back Pancasila as the identity of the nation. Through the concept of Free Learning education, the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia strives to generate profiles of Pancasila students. The Ministry of Education provides six indicators of pancasila student profile. Namely, noble morality, creativity, mutual assistance, global diversity, critical reasoning, and self-reliance. Historical subjects are considered as subjects capable of shaping the profile of Pancasila students. Especially in high school, historical subjects have a relatively large share in terms of time allocation. Besides, the relevance between Pancasila and history lessons gives space for teachers to explore and instil Pancasila values in students. The purpose of this research is to describe the formation of Pancasila Student Profile through historical learning. This research uses qualitative research methods of descriptive analysis. Data collection methods use literature and document studies. It is hoped that through historical learning both through the content of the content and the learning process and its relevance to Pancasila, the establishment of Pancasila Student Profile becomes an inevitable.

With the development of the era in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the world of education continues to develop and improve 21st century competencies. Based on the program initiated by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Education and Culture has set 4 main policies in the field of national education through the "Independent Learning" program. One of the main points of the policy is related to the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP). Based on this, the writer aims to describe how the policy of the independent learning program is in the preparation of the Thematic Learning Implementation Plan (RPP). The method used in this paper is a descriptive qualitative content analysis method. The writing shows the results that, First, based on the drafting concept in making RPP with the existing format, it is considered more rigid. Thus, the policy of the independent learning program is in trimming the RPP from the original 13 components to only 3 components. It is considered more efficient and effective, which will allow the teacher to have a lot of time to prepare and evaluate the learning process that will be implemented. Second, the preparation of the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) must have and pay attention to the main principles, namely: (1) efficient, writing RPP is done correctly and does not spend much time and energy; (2) effective, writing lesson plans is done to achieve learning objectives; and (3) student-oriented, RPP writing is carried out by considering the readiness, ability, and learning needs of students in class, so that later it can increase students' interest in learning. Third, simplifying the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) for thematic learning.

Mathematics teaching and learning should equip students with the ability to think critically and creatively and problem-solving skill to enable them to compete in the industrial revolution 4.0. This descriptive explorative study explores the readiness and challenges faced by Indonesian junior high school (SMP/MTs) student in solving HOTs type mathematics test using Islamic context. Data were collected from a test-based open-ended questionnaire distributed to 164 students in the 8th of five schools in Sidoarjo East Java comprising 2 junior madrasas (Islamic schools), 2 Islamic-based junior high schools and 1 public junior high school. Descriptive analysis using SPSS and categorization of responses (referring to response options in the questionnaire such as have ever-never, necessary-unnecessary, answered-not answered, etc) show that considering their experience, the students are “less ready” to face HOTs type mathematics test. However, students expect that they can be given more practices in doing HOTs type mathematics questions to help them get accustomed to this type of question. Being unaccustomed to non-routine and lengthy questions, lazy trait and being unfamiliar to Islamic terms used as the context of the question becomes the challenges for the students in facing HOTs type mathematics test.
