The article considers new approaches to assessing student achievement in higher education. Modern priorities in education are considered, one of which is quality control of knowledge of future specialists. In general, mastering professional disciplines during training involves studying issues of application: designing tests of different levels of application, control material for use, interpretation of test results, interpretation of its results and drawing conclusions about its compliance with the purpose, objectives , understanding of the main quality characteristics of control material and the possibility of using computer technology in creating, conducting and processing test results. The article experimentally proves that assessing the quality of knowledge of futur e professionals using criterion-based testing based on the use of computers is one of the most effective means of pedagogical control.

The quality of products represents one of the key aims of any modern organized production. In the production practice, it is essential to establish the optimal relationship between quality, production economy and delivery deadlines. Furniture quality is evaluated by three levels and they are: basic quality, high quality and especially high quality. The results presented in this paper are based on the sample measurements of chairs and tables during 2007 and 2008 at the Institute for Furniture Quality Control.

In this study we are mainly interested at the level of students' satisfaction about their courses quality, well as the different strategies judged useful by students to improve higher education.302 chemistry students of different levels from the first year to the Master participated in this survey; they are between 18 and 28 years. The analysis of the results shows that student’s dissatisfaction is patent and the teachers are not interested enough to motivate their students. For this, students can engage in personal actions to improve their general culture, to expand their field of knowledge and improve their chances of employment.

Although there are several empirical studies about active learning in higher education, there are some open research questions. Especially, it appears to be relevant to find out what type of activity (active, interactive and constructive) has a positive effect on the learning result of participants in task-based activities. In order to answer this question an experimental study was conducted with students in German higher education (N=50). The results do not show a significant difference between active, interactive and constructive activities on learning performance in task-based learning. But all groups have benefited from the classroom activities according to the test results.

Lecturers are professionals as well as scientists who are obliged to carry out the Tri Dharma of the college (Teaching, Research and Community Service). The performance of lecturers in the three dharma has an impact on the quality of higher education and also the development of the academic career of lecturers. However, the fact that was observed in FE UST, some lecturers spent more of their service in the teaching field only, while the implementation of research (especially the published ones) was minimal and only to meet the minimum standards of its obligations. Based on the literature review the factors that influence the performance of lecturers include Motivation, Competence and Commitment. The test results concluded that only the lecturers' motivation was influential, while competence and commitment had no effect.

The purpose - evaluated the quality of the implementation of hematology studies using sigmametry. Studies were perfomed at the Federal state budgetary establishment “Federal center cardiovascular surgery”. The data were collected in the period for 2017 y. The following hematology parameters were monitored daily: white cells, red blood cell, platelet, hemoglobin. For conducting laboratory quality control we used certified three-level (Level 1 (low) , Level 2 (normal)and Level 3 (High)) control material “CBC-XE Hematology control” (“R and D Systems”, USA). The study of blood hematology parameters was carried out on an automatic hematology analyzer “Sysmex XT- 2000i” and “Sysmex XT- 1800i” (“Sysmex Corporation”, Japan). Sigmametry values were calculated the CV (coefficient of variation), the systematic error (Bias) and the total allowable analytical error (TE max). On the analyzer «Sysmex XT- 2000i» sigma values for platelet were between 3 and 4. For white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin the value of the sigma was greater than 4. On the analyzer «Sysmex XT- 1800i» for platelet, white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin the value of the sigma was greater than 4. Based on the results obtained, we drew conclusions on the choice of control material and the frequency of the internal laboratory quality control. The introduction of sigmametry in the daily activities of clinic laboratory will improve the quality of the determination of platelet, which requires further observation.

The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that affect the quality of auditing activities in Vietnam. Through the method of qualitative research and quantitative based user auditing reliability Cronbach’s Alpha, testing factors explored (EFA) and the regression analysis, the results of the study showed much weaker influences with different levels of influence on the quality of independent auditing activities. Which elements of the organizational structure, scope of services provided are the factors that have the greatest impact on the quality of the audit. Besides the elements of the cost and staff capacity, ownership of enterprises audit, quality control work inside, quality control work outside also have implications significantly to the quality of audit activities in Vietnam.

This paper addresses human and organization errors (HOE) in the context of quantitative reliability analyses (QRA) that are intended to help improve the quality of offshore structures. A classification of HOE is proposed that addresses individual, organization, equipment/hardware, procedures/software, and environmental considerations. A generic process to address the life-cycle quality characteristics of offshore structures incorporating HOE is discussed. Based on these developments, a probability-based risk analysis is developed that addresses HOE in addition to the structure system aspects. Alternatives for improved management of HOE are discussed including quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), and design of error-tolerant or “robust” structures. Application of the HOE classification, generic assessment process, QRA formulation, and QA/QC measures are illustrated.

This research focuses the sequential courses, a way of vocational higher education introduced in Brazil in 1999. The aim of this study is to show a general overview on vocational education in Brazil, the development of sequential courses, about the Brazilian universities and the representative institutions of category (syndicates, regional counseling, federations and confederations) and the quality control. These courses, with two years lasting, were implemented to develop in the students older than sixteen the professional background. These sequential courses are in the beginning phases of implementation, so there are not researches about them yet. However, the interest in sequential courses is increasing since they were implemented. Data from Ministry of Education point that in 1999 were offered one hundred seventy-eight courses in Brazil, meantime in 2002 the offering was six hundred twelve courses. Although the data show the sequential courses have been well accepted by Brazilian students, it is not possible to notice, if they fulfill the students’ expectations. The methodology to this work was developed through a bibliographic review about vocational education. Beyond the students, this research considers other important institutions or involved elements with this pattern of education and sequential courses, among them the government, the representative counseling of category, the teachers and the universities. We observed that there are many relevant questions those deserve some reflection related to different parts of these courses such as: a) the lack of links between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labour, which leads to problems of recognition of the sequential courses in the labour market; b) the different points of view of trade unions, with some against and others in favour of this new kind of training workforce in Brazil; and c) the controversy among universities whether it is their role to offer sequential courses in addition to regular undergraduate degrees, partly because of their concerns regarding the quality of these courses. Key words: vocational education - sequential courses - workforce.

In quality control we find techniques that come from different fields, because the objective is to reduce the variability in quality characteristics, these are control and adjustment of processes. In this work, the individual control charts (Xind and Rm) were used to monitor the loading time of a truck measured during 60 consecutive days of a cargo transport company in Rio Grande do Sul. The results showed that the process is out of control both in average and variability, requiring a systematic monitoring in order for the company to maintain the quality of services provided to its customers.
