Basically students have critical thinking skills. Students 'critical thinking skills that are still low are needed in a way so that students' critical thinking skills increase, With the Problem Based Learning learning model in the hope that students' critical thinking skills will increase. the purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of problem based learning in improving students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is Action Research, with the stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two lessons. The subjects in this study were MTs students. In Ambulu sub-district. Data collection techniques use tests and non-tests. The results showed that student learning outcomes in the first cycle got a score of 45 with very low criteria, in cycle II it increased to 92.5 with very good criteria. Students' critical thinking skills in the first cycle experienced 36% classical completeness with very low criteria, in cycle II it increased to 80% with high criteria. This research is motivated by the competence of teachers in preparing poor learning outcomes tests and has not been able to measure high-level thinking skills, especially critical thinking skills. Therefore the researcher seeks to improve teacher competence in compiling tests on student learning outcomes based on critical thinking skills through academic supervision. This study uses a school action research design that has stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted for 2 months starting April 9 to May 17, 2019 for Physics teachers in the 7 target schools. Data is sourced from interviews with teachers and test documents prepared by the teacher. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis through the stages of data collection, data simplification, data presentation, conclusion drawing. Data were analyzed using assessment rubrics adjusted to indicators of critical thinking skills. The results of this study conclude that teacher competence in preparing tests of learning outcomes based on critical thinking skills has increased from the first cycle with a percentage of 61% with sufficient categories to 76% with good categories in cycle II.

This study aims to: (1) Know the development process and (2) increase the critical thinking skills of class XI TKJ students of SMK Bina Teknologi Purwokerto on bandwidth management material.

This research is a Classroom Action Research which was conducted from 27 October 2020 to 23 November 2020. The stages of the research consisted of planning, action, observation and reflection. The research was conducted in 3 cycles, each of which consisted of one meeting. The research instrument consisted of observation sheets and tests of students' critical thinking skills. Learning in this study uses the Problem Based Learning learning model. The action of data analysis used data from observations and the process of analyzing data from the test results of students' critical thinking skills.

Before the implementation of the Problem Based Learning learning model for XI TKJ students, data was obtained with an average grade XI TKJ grade 54 and the completeness of students who had a score above 36% KKM. After applying the Problem Based Learning model in cycle 1, the class average increase to 60.04 and the completeness of students who have a score above the KKM is 44%. Then it has increased after cycle 2 with an average class score of 69.72 and completeness of students who have scores above the KKM 64%. Then it has increased after cycle 3 with an average class score of 76.72 and the completeness of students who have a score above the KKM of 80%. Thus it can be said that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Keywords: critical thinking, problem based learning model, classroom action research,

This article was created to identify the effect of the Problem Based Learning model in improving students' critical thinking. The data collection method is in the form of a literature study. This article explains that problem-based learning is a learning model that focuses on students' solving problems in physics concepts. Critical thinking is the student's ability to analyze and evaluate the information received to conclude appropriately. The results of the literature study showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills in the learning process with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The application of Problem Based Learning has an average increase of about 50% after the learning pattern is applied. The existence of the PBL learning model is effectively used to improve students' critical thinking, which incidentally in solving physics concepts requires the ability to analyze and evaluate to conclude.

Based on observation activities in 5th grade of elementary school, the science thematic content learning outcomes are still low. Not yet achived satisfactory result is due to factors inactivity of studenta in participating in learning. For this reason, research is conducted with a type of classroom action research (CAR). This study aims to describe the steps in applying the Problem Based Learning model and to know the improvement of critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in science 5 grade science. Data collection techniques use test techniques and non-test techniques ( observation ). The analysis techniques uses descriptive comparative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the application of the Problem Based Learning model was able to improve critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. Students' critical thinking improvement can be seen through the fairly critical category of 9% cycle, increasing in the first cycle of 36%, in the second cycle it increased to 41%. Critical category in pre-cycle 0% then in cycle I there is 18% and cycle II increases to 36%, very critical category in pre-cycle 0% then increases in cycle I to 5%, then in cycle II it increases again to 9%. While the results of learning outcomes data analysis showed that in pre-cycle the level of student completeness was 9%, for the first cycle the completeness rate was 73%, and the second cycle the completeness level was 86%. Based on the result of the study it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning mode; can improve critical thinking skills and learning outcomes.

This study aims to improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes of geometry material by applying problem-based learning. This research is a type of classroom action research with the John Elliot model with four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection, which is carried out in two cycles. The data obtained were obtained from instruments in the form of an assessment rubric for critical thinking skills and tests to determine student learning outcomes on geometry material. The subjects in this study were class VII students of SMP Rewarangga Ende, totalling 20 people. Technical analysis of the data using a comparative descriptive technique between cycles. The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills from the initial conditions, cycle 1, and cycle 2. In the initial condition the level of critical thinking skills in the critical category was only 43%, in cycle 1 76%, and in cycle 2 increased to 97%; (2) student learning outcomes of geometry material also increased. In the initial condition, only 42% of students experienced completeness, in cycle 1 it increased to 51% of students who completed, and in cycle 2 it increased to 68%.

The purpose of this study is to improve critical thinking skills and student learning independence using Problem Based Learning (PBL) models based on scientific literacy. The research used is PTK with 2 cycles and each cycle is carried out in 2 meetings, each meeting consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The tools used to collect data are written test questions, observation sheets of teacher and student activities, observation sheets for learning independence attitude, questionnaire on learning independence attitude scale, and documentation. Subjects in this study were 28 students. The results showed that the first cycle students gained critical thinking skills with an average of 2.6 with enough categories, increased in cycle II to 3.6 with good categories. Learning independence in cycle I gained an average of 3.85 in the good category and increased in the second cycle to 3.9 in the good category. This proves that with PBL based on scientific literacy can improve critical thinking skills and independence of learning.
