This study aims to determine the response of the vegetative growth of soybean (Glycine max) of Anjasmoro and Demas varieties to the application of Trichoderma sp. Compost. on salinity stress. This research was conducted in the dry land of the swamp of Jabon Village, Sidoarjo, from March to May 2020. The experiment was arranged factorial using a Randomized Block Design consisting of two factors, namely: the first factor was soybean varieties consisting of: varieties. Anjasmoro, and Demas 1 varieties, while the second factor was the application of Trichoderma compost consisting of: without Trichoderma and with Trichoderma. Of the 4 treatment combinations were repeated 5 times, in order to obtain 20 experimental units, each containing 40 plants. Data were analyzed by ANOVA followed by the 5% HSD test. The results showed that there was a significant interaction effect between the varieties and the application of Trichoderma sp. on the growth rate of sprouts and the number of leaves grown on land with an average salinity of 4 dS.cm-1 at 35 days after planting. Anjasmoro variety shows tolerance on saline soil, while Demas 1 variants are intolerant to saline soil. Anjasmoro varieties treated with Trichoderma sp. compost were able to show a sprout growth rate of up to 6.10 cm per day and accelerate the appearance of flowers on high salinity soils. The combination of these two has the potential to be tested and developed into a wide production stage on high salinity swamps.

ABSTRACT

Shallot is one of important commodity besides chili and potatoes. Shallot is cultivated on dry land. The dry land used in Indonesia is still relatively small, while the potential of this area is considered large for the development of agriculture. Pressurized irrigation system has the advantage of efficient use of water making it suitable to be applied on dry land. The study consisted of two experiments, the effect of irrigation volume and frequency of irrigation influence on the growth of shallot. The research was conducted at the Experimental Station Teaching Farm and Postharvest Laboratory Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Bogor Agricultural University from October 2014 to April 2015. The research consisted of two experiments by using a Randomized Block Design with four replications. The treatment in the first experiment was percentage of the volume of irrigation water consisting of five levels (S100% ETc, S75% ETc, S50% ETc, S25% ETc (with sprinkler) and 100% ETc conventional (without sprinkler). The treatment in the second experiment was frequency of irrigation consisting of four levels (two times a day, once a day, once in two days one and once in three days). Results of the first experiment showed the plants could grow
and produced up to S25% ETc or 81.17% water available for evapotranspiration, but the best treatment was S100% ETc volume irrigation, based on yields. Watering with sprinkler irrigation provided better effect than manual watering which was usually done by farmers. The second eperiment showed that the best watering frequency for vegetative growth was once a day while for total yield was twice a day.

Key words: dryland, irrigation, shallot, sprinkler, total yield, vegetative growth,

ABSTRAK

Bawang merah salah satu komoditas unggulan nasional selain cabai dan kentang. Biofertilizer which contain rhizobacteria Azotobacter increase soil fertility and improve plant growth through nitrogen fixation and phytohormone production. The objective of this study was to compare the responses of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merill) plants in dry land after the application of several Azotobacter inoculation methods. Field experiments were carried out with a randomized block design consisting of five treatments with five replicates each. The treatments were seed inoculation, soil treatment before planting, soil treatment after planting and plant dressing. Plant inoculation with Azotobacter treated with half of recommended dosage urea while the control plant received recommended dose urea. The experimental results showed that all application methods did not affect soybean production, number of nodules, Azotobacter populations in the rhizosphere and N total soil; but Azotobacter inoculation through leaves increased N uptake and weight of 100 soybean seeds.

The present work aimed at determining the effects of the association between the periphyton-based system with the bioflocs-based system in the intensive culture of juvenile Nile tilapia (1.56 ± 0.07 g; 72 fish m-3), on variables of water quality, growth performance and effluent quality after 10 weeks. The experiment was arranged in a 2 x 2 factorial randomized block design with four treatments and five repetitions each. The factors tested were the following: ‘underwater structure’ (absence and presence) and ‘adjustment of the C: N ratio of water’ (no and yes). The final fish body weight, specific growth rate and yield were higher (p < 0.05) in the C: N-adjusted tanks. The presence of submerged structures in the tanks had no significant influence on those same variables. It was concluded that the periphyton-based system is not indicated for intensive farming of Nile tilapia, in which there is a high allowance of artificial feed to fish.

ABSTRACT The objective was to evaluate the effect of different spacings and mineral fertilizations on cactus pear growth and production in a randomized block design, with three replicates, in a 3 x 4 factorial scheme: three spacings, 1.00 x 0.50 m, 2.00 x 0.25 m and 3.00 x 1.00 x 0.25 m, and four fertilizations, 000-000-000, 000-150-000, 200-150-000 and 200-150-100 kg ha-1 of N, P2O5 and K2O, respectively. Plant growth was evaluated between 90 and 390 days and production and growth were evaluated at 620 days after planting. There were significant interactions between spacing and fertilization for plant height, number of cladodes and cladode area index from 90 to 390 days and for production of fresh and dry matter at 620 days after planting. Spacing influenced cladode area index, while fertilization influenced plant height, number of cladodes and cladode area index at 620 days after planting. Plant height showed cubic effect for the days after planting. Number of cladodes and cladode area index were dependent on spacing, fertilization and plant age, and fitted to cubic models. The best results of growth and production of fresh and dry matter are associated with NPK and NP fertilizations and the spacing of 1.00 x 0.50 m.

Soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) demand is high in Indonesia, however national production is low, therefore improving productivity is important. The research was aimed to determine the effect of application of biofertilizer containing N- fixing and P- solubilizing bacteria on the growth and production of soybean in lowland swamp. The experiment was conducted at Labuhan Ratu VI Village, District of Labuhan Ratu, East Lampung Regency from September to December 2014. The experiment was arranged in factorial randomized block design with three replications. N and P fertilizers were applied in four levels. Doses of N were 0, 11.25, 22.50, 33.75 kg ha-1, doses of P were 0, 36, 72, 108 P2O5 kg ha-1, in combination with and without biofertilizer application. The results showed that interaction between biofertilizer and N significantly affected number of branches and number of leaves at maximum vegetative phase. The influence of three types of fertilizer had no significant effect on the productivity of soybean in lowland swamp with soil pH of 7.0 and medium soil fertility. It is recommended to apply Biofertilizer + 11,25 kg N ha-1 + 36 kg P2O5 ha-1 to obtain high soybean production in lowland swamp area.

Keywords: nitrogen, phosphate, productivity, soil fertility

This research was conducted in Pante Cermin, Padang Tiji Subdistrict, Pidie District. in March to August 2015, with the aim to know the use efficienci of Trichoderma sp on the growth of several types of Banana seedlings (Musa Paracica L.) This research using Randomized Block Design (RAK) factorial pattern with the factors studied is the type of banana and trichoderma dose . Both factors consist of 4 levels: Banana Barangan (J1), Ambon banana (J2), Banana King (J3) and Geupok banana (J4). While the dose of Tricoderma sp is: TO = 0 g / seeds T1 = 15 g / seeds T2 = 30 g / seedlings and T3 = 45 g / seedlings. So there are 16 treatment combinations and repeated 3 times, which resulted in 48 experimental units. To determine the influence of each treatment and its interaction on the growth of banana seedlings, the analysis of variance (Test F) and continued with the test of Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) at 5% level. The results showed that the growth of good banana seedlings among 4 species studied was shown by Barangan bananas, but not unlike bananas. However, trichoderma administration until the age of 4 months has not shown the growth and intensity of different attacks. So it should be extended the study period to 6 months. After 6 months of research there has been a difference in growth and intensity of attack, where the intensity of the greatest attack is shown by T0 (without trichoderma). Medium intensity of smallest attack is shown by T3 (Dose trichoderma sp 45 gr / banana seedlings). The type of banana does not affect the growth and intensity of fusarium wilt attack. and the interaction of these two factors had no significant effect on the growth of banana seedlings and the intensity of Fusarium wilt disease.
