A doctor or medical scholar needs a reference book to learn how to diagnose tropical diseases. This reference book is sometimes a hassle if you have to carry it everywhere. This reference book is also impractical if you have to search it first to find the symptoms and diseases you want to study. So that we need a system to make it easier for doctors and medical scholars to study the science of diagnosis and look for symptoms and diseases. Expert systems are knowledge-based programs that provide expert quality solutions to problems in a specific domain. This expert system is used in the fields of medicine, agriculture, business, and others. Expert systems in the field of medicine make it easy to identify diseases suffered by patients through the symptoms present in the patient. This expert system helps doctors make diagnoses to convince doctors about the results of the diagnosis. The expert system in this study uses a combined method. The combined method is forward chaining and backward chaining. The forward chaining method is used to determine specific symptoms that appear, while the backward chaining method is used to trace general symptoms that arise from specific symptoms that have been previously selected. The result of combining these methods provides a diagnostic percentage of 100%. Meanwhile, the user's assessment of the system gives a good response.

Most of the people in the Bandes village of Ainaro district work as breeders. Cows that are raised are beef cattle. One of the obstacles that exist in Bandes Village is the existence of a few veterinarians in Bandes Village. This research discusses an expert system for diagnosing diseases in cattle, which functions to help determine the disease that is being suffered by cattle, this system will display the results of the diagnosis in the form of the name of the disease, a description of the disease solution and its prevention. In this study there were 4 diseases studied and 7 symptoms. From the 4 disease data, isolation of the problem area, target decision and dependency diagram is made. After that the formation of IF – THEN rules, after the rules are made, the backward chaining process is made. So as to produce a solution to overcome disease in cattle. In program testing is done by comparing the results of the system with experts. In the trials that have been carried out, the results obtained are appropriate or the accuracy of the data and facts obtained from experts on cattle. So based on the results of tests that have been carried out on the system as much as 4 data, the accuracy value obtained is 100% accurate which shows that the expert system is functioning properly in accordance with the expert's diagnosis

Teeth are an important part of the body in the digestive process. As a start of the digestive process, teeth receive various kinds of food conditions such as sweet, cold, hard foods, and so on. These food conditions affect dental health so that when teeth are not treated they become vulnerable to disease. Society in general does not pay attention to pain in the teeth. Though the pain in the teeth can be caused by diseases such as dental caries, tartar, and others. The solution of this research is manifested in the form of an expert system to diagnose dental diseases using the Android-based Forward Chaining method. The expert system application used by researchers is McGoo. The purpose of this expert system is to help the public get information and carry out a diagnosis of dental disease independently. Users only need to answer the questions displayed by the system to get the results of the diagnosis in the form of the type of illness and treatment solutions that can be done. The results of the system diagnosis have been tested and validated by experts namely dentists who are the source of information and data. Based on the accuracy of the system diagnostic test results are by the results of the expert diagnosis.

There were 12 disease data obtained from the agriculture and horticulture department of Deli Serdang, namely earthworms, thrips pests, leaf caterpillars, armyworms, aphids, root namhodes, purple spots, powdery mildew, stem neck rot, anthracnose, fusarium wilt, rot. poor, dead shoots (phytopthora porri foister) and there are 30 Symptoms of disease in onion plants An expert system is a computer program that provides expert advice (decisions, recommendations or problem solving) as if people had been consulted. The backward chaining method is the opposite of forward chaining which starts with a hypothesis (an object) and asks for information to convince or ignore. Backward chaining inference engines are often called Object-Driven/Goal-Driven. In this study, a web-based expert system was designed using the backward chaining method which aims to detect the type of disease in shallot plants by paying attention to the symptoms experienced in shallot plants. By using the backward chaining method, the value of disease certainty in shallot plants will be obtained from the expert system designed. The test results concluded that the design of an expert system for diagnosing diseases in shallots using the backward chaining method was as expected.

Expert System is a computer-based system that uses knowledge, facts and reasoning techniques in solving problems that normally can only be solved by an expert in the field. Many cases can be used as research in Expert Systems, one diagnosis of proper nutrition. In this study we will design an expert system to diagnose the type of proper nutrition for pregnant women. Determining the proper nutrition for pregnant women is important to note because it causes birth defects and infant mortality. In this study, the system uses the Backward Chaining method in determining the proper nutrition for pregnant women. This system can provide the right solution for pregnant women. This application is made to the programming language PHP and MySQL as its knowledge base storage. System testing is done by matching the search process Backward Chaining in the decision tree to determine the proper nutrition for pregnant women at the design stage to the actual system that has been built. Chicken is one type of poultry that has many benefits, so the chicken can be an option for livestock. This research was conducted to create an expert system that helps provide information to farmers about poultry diseases, especially broilers. This expert system is built on the Android platform and uses the Dempster Shafer calculation method to get the diagnosis of chicken disease. The data used in this study consisted of 38 symptoms and 10 diseases data which were limited to diseases caused by bacteria and viruses. Each symptom has the value of belief given by 3 veterinarians. This study used four types of testing in the form of black-box testing, questionnaire testing, theoretical testing, and accuracy testing. The results of the accuracy testing of the 30 cases given are 92.22% and the system accuracy is 93.33% if the system diagnosis results are assumed to be valid because it is a subsection of expert diagnosis. For questionnaire testing using the MOS, parameters obtained 4.58 results from a scale of 5, as well as theoretical calculation tests that get the same calculation results between the results of expert diagnoses and system diagnoses. Based on the test results, the system built is good and appropriate.

Abstract Background As pregnancy is a physiological prothrombotic state, pregnant women may be at increased risk of developing coagulopathic and/or thromboembolic complications associated with COVID-19. Methods Two biomedical databases were searched between September 2019 and June 2020 for case reports and series of pregnant women with a diagnosis of COVID-19 based either on a positive swab or high clinical suspicion where no swab had been performed. Additional registry cases known to the authors were included. Steps were taken to minimise duplicate patients. Information on coagulopathy based on abnormal coagulation test results or clinical evidence of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and on arterial or venous thrombosis, were extracted using a standard form. If available, detailed laboratory results and information on maternal outcomes were analysed. Results One thousand sixty-three women met the inclusion criteria, of which three (0.28, 95% CI 0.0 to 0.6) had arterial and/or venous thrombosis, seven (0.66, 95% CI 0.17 to 1.1) had DIC, and a further three (0.28, 95% CI 0.0 to 0.6) had coagulopathy without meeting the definition of DIC. Five hundred and thirty-seven women (56%) had been reported as having given birth and 426 (40%) as having an ongoing pregnancy. There were 17 (1.6, 95% CI 0.85 to 2.3) maternal deaths in which DIC was reported as a factor in two. Conclusions Our data suggests that coagulopathy and thromboembolism are both increased in pregnancies affected by COVID-19. Detection of the former may be useful in the identification of women at risk of deterioration.
