The primary aim of this study is to investigate commercial banks employee’s interactions in the advent and eminence of social media, thus, depict the major influence which is made by social media in two commercial banks (ABSA and Standard Bank) workflow. This study has employed a quantitative research approach whereby structured questionnaires were distributed respectively to two commercial banks’ employees. A self-developed and administered questionnaire was distributed to a population size of 194 employees with 102 returned and completed successfully, thereby generating a response rate of 53%. Findings in this study revealed the extent to which social media has changed workflow in commercial banks (54% agree, 23% were undecided, and 24% disagreed). Among other major findings that this study reflected, social media among commercial banks employees’ has totally transformed channels of communication (60% agreed, 25% were undecided, and 24% disagreed). Despite the positive advancements revealed in this study, social media has not allowed openness of emotions among commercial banks employees’ (49% agreed, 28% were undecided, and 24% disagreed). This study is expected to contribute to the body of knowledge, as there is a paucity of published studies on commercial banks employee’s interactions in the advent of social media. This study will also help the bank managers to intensify online team management and supervision. The emergence of social media in financially high-risk institutions has had a negative impact on employees’ perceptions towards utilization of social media for team collaboration and communication. This study investigates social media impact in commercial banks and explores the contribution it has brought among teams, thus, ascertaining collaboration and effective communication within the banking industry. It adopted a quantitative research method whereby 194 questionnaires were distributed and 102 completed, thereby generating a response rate of 53%. The study findings revealed 60% of the research participants who agreed, 14% undecided, and 27% disagreed that social media present an opportunity for people to commit fraud and attracts hackers. This study will contribute to the body of knowledge in South Africa as there is a limited number of published studies on the impact of social media in financial institutions

Purpose – The aim of this paper is to develop and test a theoretical framework, grounded in managerial and organisational theories of dialogue, through which organisations can take decisions in relation to the most appropriate crisis response strategies for handling social media stakeholders. Design/methodology/approach – The theoretical framework is developed through a conceptual analysis of literature on dialogue, social media and crisis communication. The theoretical framework is then tested in eight different international organisations experiencing a crisis. For each case, different web contents, such as organisations' status updates/posts, links, videos published on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, were analysed using a rhetorical research approach. Findings – The analysed organisations apply different online dialogue strategies according to crisis types and in combination with specific crisis response strategies. Most of the organisations investigated carry on those dialogue strategies suitable to develop consensus (concertative), guide conversations on specific topics or issues (framing), find solutions to the crisis collectively (transformative). Concertative strategies were often associated with informative crisis response strategies, framing strategies with denial and justification crisis response strategies and transformative strategies with corrective actions. Research limitations/implications – By using a dialogic perspective in setting up online conversations with their external stakeholders, the paper proposes a theoretical model to explain companies' decisions in carrying on online dialogues during critical situations and thus contribute to the body of knowledge on online crisis communications. Practical implications – The proposed model can support crisis communicators to manage dialogue's aims and dimensions differently by taking into account both contextual and situational conditions. Originality/value – By integrating management studies on dialogue into crisis communication and social media literature, the authors intend to offer an alternative thinking of organisations' decision-making in relation to crisis response strategies and social media stakeholders.

Objective - SMEs often fail to market their business and their green marketing initiatives effectively. This paper assesses how the promotion of green social media marketing could provide a possible solution to SMEs failed marketing efforts within the metropoles of Nelson Mandela Bay and Buffalo City in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Methodology/Technique - An empirical study was conducted following a descriptive quantitative research approach in which 150 self-administered structured questionnaires were distributed to respondents. Findings - It was found that most SMEs do not make use of green social media marketing but are aware of the benefits it could offer. In the era of industrialization, the role of company's global strategy has a significant role in surviving in a competitive environment. The global strategy has the major weapon to compete with the competitors and achieve a higher level of performance. In this direction, the awareness of global strategy among employees has key importance. However, in most companies, the level of awareness among the employees is low, which has a negative effect on the global strategy. This study aims to examine the level of awareness among employees concerning the company's global strategy. This study selected large enterprises from Poland. Data were collected from the employees of large enterprises from Poland. A cross-sectional research design was used in the present study under a quantitative research approach. In this research, first-hand data was collected from one point in time. A total of 200 questionnaires were used to collect data and distribute it to employees, of which 82 valid responses were received for data analysis. It is an important investigation that is not documented in previous studies. Particularly, large enterprises from Poland were not considered by the previous studies. This study significantly contributed to the body of knowledge. Along with the theoretical implications, the current study also has practical implications. Results of the study highlighted valuable insights for the large enterprises to enhance the company's global strategy through employee awareness. It is also evident from the results that awareness about the global strategy could promote the employee motivational level. Therefore, employees want to adopt the global strategy. Employees also highlighted that global strategy is important for brand building, innovation, and expansion to the new market. According to the employees, the major benefits of the global strategy include increasing the product quality, increasing sales, brand recognition promotion, increasing the profit, increasing the customers, gaining competitive advantage, and reducing the cost. Thus, to achieve higher performance through global strategy benefits, a company must have well planned global strategy. Therefore, the study's findings have valuable importance for the practitioners to promote large enterprises in Poland.

Despite the rising demand for the building surveying services in the current market, the function of this profession is generally still misunderstood. Hence, this paper attempts to identify the hierarchy and potential roles that can be offered by building surveying graduates in order to provide the acceptable roles in the Malaysian construction industry. A quantitative research approach has been adopted to achieve this study’s objective with close-ended questionnaires have been developed and administered to 136 professional building surveyors who are registered with the Building Surveying Division, Royal Institution of Surveyor Malaysia. The retrieved data were analysed using the IBM SPSS Statistic for the respondents’ demographic data and the Rasch measurement model that applied the Winsteps version 3.70 software in order to analyse the data on reliability, item fit, and item measure for roles hierarchy. The result of the study shows that the roles hierarchy consisted of 29 essential tasks a graduate should deal with in order to thrive in the labour market after graduation. Correspondingly, building maintenance and conservation, building control administration, building inspection, risk management and building audit, building works and quality, and building insurance are the essential roles there are based on the hierarchy level that has been extracted by the six components. This study contributes to the body of knowledge in the Malaysia context, in particular for the general international building surveying community as it reveals a roles hierarchy that graduates are required to perform, and where it will provide awareness on the existence of the building surveying vocation among other the non-allied construction professionals in Malaysia.

The aim of this research was to motivate students by using social media to teach writing hortatory exposition text. The researcher chooses two media such us Instagram and Facebook. The application of teaching writing of hortatory exposition text at eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Ngadiluwih by using social media Instagram and Facebook to hold the interesting and enjoyable learning activity. This research was quantitative research approach, whereas the research design used true experimental. This research chosen randomly in Instagram class (social one class) and Facebook class (social two class). The instrument used in the research was writing test. The procedure lasted 4 meeting and 1 meeting to do test. The result of t-test showed that: the mean score of Instagram class (M= 68.79) is lower than Facebook class (M= 77.07), and independent sample t-test which values of the sig-2 tailed is 0.000 and 0.000<0.005. Thus, it can be concluded that Facebook is more effective than Instagram in teaching and learning English Hortatory Exposition Text.

Qualitative research has been criticised for not building a distinctive body of knowledge, leading to fewer publications and citations. In the light of this critique, this paper offers guidance on how qualitative researchers can contribute to developing a distinctive and cumulative body of knowledge, thereby attracting more attention to their research. In pursuit of this aim, there are four objectives addressed in this paper. The first objective is to explain the relevance and value of deductive qualitative approaches to theory building. Secondly, to illustrate how examining the maturation of a concept can help decide the appropriateness of a particular research approach. This paper explains how in their planning, researchers need to confirm their intention to contribute to theory development and to ensure that this is appropriate, given the stage of maturation of the concept to be investigated. The third objective is to offer guidance on the philosophical assumptions of the researcher and how to test research propositions. Therefore, it is advised that data collection and analysis should take place within a post-positivist paradigm, and that the field work should be designed and carried out with research propositions as a point of departure. The final research objective is to explain how the findings of a deductive qualitative study should be handled to demonstrate the contribution of the study to the body of knowledge. Here guidance is offered on the contextualisation and generalisation of research findings.

Non-performing loans (NPL) is a worldwide issue that affects financial markets stability in general and banking industry viability in particular. The net non-performing loan (NPL) ratio in the banking system since the Asian financial crisis has gradually been in decline from 13.6% in December 1998 to 2.8% in May 2008. Government intervention to non-performing loan recovery strategies have contributed significantly in the decline. The Malaysian government and banks have succeeded in removing the non-performing loans (NPL) from banks Balance Sheet. This study examines the factors influencing non-performing loans in commercial banks in Selangor. A quantitative research approach is employed in this research following the positivist assumption with a realist ontology and objectivist epistemology. Data was collected using a probabilistic sampling method, particularly a stratified random sampling technique. The adapted survey questionnaire employed in this study and distributed 150 questionnaires and successfully received 130 questionnaires. Overall, the researcher has discussed about the findings of the analysis that was conucted using the SPSS software. Descriptive approach, correlation and multiple regression analysiss had been shown during the analysis. The descriptive approach displayed direct  results while  the correlation displayed the relationship between the dependent variable (non-performing loan) and the independent variables (standard of living, consumer income, economy of the country, bank interest rate). In this research, found three factors that influencing non-performing loan in Malaysia which are consumers’ income, the economy of the country and bank interest rate. The bank will found that the bank interest rate affect the rate of non-performing loan increase. For the future researchers, this research will benefit them as well. If they are doing their researches which are related to this topic, they can gather everything they want easily. Besides that, it will benefit the researcher who is going to do this research study in Malaysia. This is because the information in Malaysia is limited.

With the emergence of Web 2.0, new online trends and technologies will continually emerge and play an increasingly important role in the way businesses operate. As Web 2.0 has revolutionised the internet by shifting from a published web to a user centric, user-generated web, businesses needed to understand how to change and adapt in order to benefit from these changes. This paper analyses organisations across a variety of industries, in order to determine how Web 2.0 is influencing the way companies conduct business – how they benefit, and what the advantages and disadvantages are. The authors will try to determine whether the traditional business models are changing or simply evolving through the utilisation of Web 2.0 technologies. This research contributes to the body of knowledge regarding the use of social media in commercial organisations.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to quantify the barriers to the use of integrated project delivery (IPD), as assessed by 115 construction professionals in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach Barriers recording highest citation amongst researchers worldwide were collated in the form of a conceptual model. This model was validated via a partial least squares structural equation modelling technique. Findings Findings advance the body of knowledge on IPD by providing original insights into the nature of key barriers, quantifying the relative importance of each barrier. Research limitations/implications Despite the above-mentioned contributions, and before drawing any conclusion, it is prudent to acknowledge limitations, particularly the chosen research approach in focusing on the Malaysian context. Therefore, caution must be exercised in direct application of findings to other contexts; research findings should be seen through the lens of moderatum generalisations (see Payne and Williams, 2005). Practical implications Apart from contributions to the body of knowledge, for the world of practice, conditions impacting a transition to IPD are discussed, with a recommendation for change management through a tested mechanism like the European Corporate Sustainability Framework. Originality/value Being the first empirical study undertaken to quantify the relationship among the identified barriers and IPD, the present study contributes to the field by addressing the gap in IPD research in Malaysia, as an exemplar of a developing country; it creates knowledge to inform further improvements in project performance through facilitating IPD use. The study also offers insight to construction stakeholders in other developing countries for tackling issues that hinder the adoption of an IPD approach, and it also points to major barriers such that resources for tackling barriers may be allocated properly.
