This paper presents the research of attitudes of deaf people and educational workers in order to determine and isolate factors that influence the efficiency of professional information process and the professional orientation of deaf people. The first subsample consisted of deaf participants who have completed the process of professional orientation and rehabilitation, and the other subsample of educational workers, who work at professional training of deaf people. Factor analysis was used to evaluate the results. Based on the results of the research, three essential factors were isolated, which indicate that there are gaps in the implementation of professional orientation of deaf population, which also points to the strategy of action in order to improve its effectiveness.

<p>The study draws on findings from a survey of adults in non-formal continuing education under the professional training for employment framework in Spain. Quantitative analysis was carried out to a sample of 425 respondents from three different educational providers. Firstly, a factor analysis was conducted to fourteen motives for participation items. A two-dimension model of motivation to participate was identified: one dimension oriented towards job-improvement and the other dimension oriented towards learning. Secondly, a variance analysis was conducted according to demographics variables. Results showed significant statistical differences in the first dimension according to demographic variables. This might indicates an instrumental motivation in participation in work-related training among different groups who try to cope with different types of drawbacks.</p>

The article examines the phenomenon of parental participation in the professional guidance of schoolchildren, which is an actual problem for modern European education. The example of France shows the main stages and areas of possible interaction between schools, families and students in the process of developing the only correct decision in choosing a professional training. The unity and struggle of the family and school in the fi eld of professionalization in France allows us to rethink the pressing problems of the domestic professional education, which are more detailed in the mirror of the “other”.

AbstractPublic discourses about wars and mass violence are often dominated by questions of guilt and victimhood as well as a focus on the figures of ‘perpetrators’ and ‘victims’. This can also be observed concerning the public remembrance of the 1992-1995 conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina. However, attempts were made here to promote the memory of another war-related figure: that of the rescuer who helped people ‘from the other side’. The author analyses these attempts at remembrance in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and places them within the context of global efforts to publicly acknowledge rescuers, in particular the ‘Righteous Among the Nations’.

Two studies of the Revised NEO‐Personality Inventory (NEO‐PI‐R) conducted on two different applicant samples (one consisting of 539 female subjects and the other consisting of 396 male subjects) are reported. Factor analysis of the female sample yielded a five‐factor solution, highly congruent with the factors presented by Costa, McCrae and Dye (1991). Results of the male data were less clear‐cut, yielding four to five factors which were moderately congruent with the American data. The combined male and female sample showed again high congruence coefficients. Various minor deviations in the location of the facet variables are discussed.

The article is devoted to the comprehensive study of the professional information needs (IN) of specialists of the central libraries of the subjects of the Russian Federation. The rapid development of high technologies in the field of accumulation, transmission and processing of information, the creation of modern telecommunications systems have led to the emergence of fundamentally new opportunities for organizing the information process. This, in turn, led to the qualitative growth of IN specialists, including those employed in the field of library activities. The specific features of IN library specialists are determined by their place and role in the modern process of cultural activity, industry orientation, nature of work and specialization. During 2018—2019, the Centre for Research of Problems of the Development of Libraries in the Information Society of the Russian State Library carried out research aimed at comprehensive study of the information needs of cultural workers employed in the library sphere. At the first stage of the research, there was comprehended the existing experience of studying professional information needs in the national library science. At the second stage, using the method of questionnaire survey, information needs of library specialists were studied in order to identify the most rational forms and methods of providing them. The analysis of the survey results made it possible to identify the sources of professional information, to reveal information resources that have the greatest importance and characterize specific features of librarians’ information needs.The author concludes on the need to expand the access to full-text databases and electronic versions of periodicals for library staff. The creation of integrated information centre could help providing library professionals with professional information. Currently, the function of such a centre is performed by the National Electronic Library, which includes the professional section for library specialists. The results of the study form theoretical and methodological basis for the rational use of resources and potential of libraries in providing information to professional information needs of library specialists and determine the prospects for further research related to improving the forms and methods of information service for this category of users.

The recertification of the professional accounting qualification in Estonia: the requirements and quality of CPD As the purpose of a professional qualification should be to ensure quality to employers/customers, appro-priate requirements for professional training should not be too low. On the other hand, too high require-ments for the amount of training would lead to the situation where maintaining the level is expensive and if the labour market does not consider having a professional certificate necessary, recertification will be discarded. The purpose of the research was to identify the factors that influence an accountant’s decision whether to recertify his/her professional qualification or not. The conditions of recertification were ana-lysed and compared to other countries as were the requirements set up for auditors. The results of the survey revealed that in Estonia the decision not to recertify one’s professional qualification was mainly due to not having fulfilled the required number of qualification hours or not having certificates proving one’s participation in qualification training sessions. At the same time, compared to other countries, the requirements in Estonia are very low. So that the increase in the amount of training would not hinder recertification, alternative solutions for Estonia are proposed in the article.

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of career and continuing professional training on work motivation among BICICI employees. To achieve this, a sociological survey was carried out among 221 workers in this banking structure. These workers were selected using the probabilistic method. The method of data collection in the field was carried out by means of a questionnaire comprising essentially four axes. The chi-square statistical test was used to process the collected data. This treatment resulted in two levels of outcomes. One reveals that the career profile determines the motivation to work in the study subjects. The other shows that the motivation at work of the respondents depends on continuing vocational training. Herzberg’s bifactorial theory and Becker’s human capital assisted in interpreting these results.

The article deals with the problem of improving the quality of training of teachers of vocational training by integrating practice-oriented and theoretical approaches for the implementation of the experimental project «Professionalism» as a priority direction in the development of secondary vocational education. It is noted that the professional activity of a teacher becomes more multitasking and requires the formation of professional skills while developing fl exibility of thinking, intelligence, and the ability to quickly respond to the demands of the labor market. The professional training of teachers provides for the integration of practice-oriented and theoretical approaches to form a competitive specialist. At the same time, the educational environment should diff er in the variability of approaches, educational technologies, didactic means and teaching methods. The article describes some forms of work with students that allow modeling the future professional activity of a teacher of vocational training and imply deepening and expanding the content of theoretical material and its refraction when performing practical tasks of a professional orientation. Noting the practice-oriented approach as an active form of organizing professional training of students, the authors consider the experience of working on the basis of the South Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University.

Music therapy in Mexico is only beginning. Though there is a lot of interest in what it is and on its effect on health and personal growth, there are also a lot of misconceptions about what it really is. I have encountered that one of the obstacles for the growth of music therapy in Mexico is what I call the myths about what it is. I am sure some of them are well known to my colleagues around the world: if you play a music tape the client gets well, or just get some percussion instruments and have the children play and you are doing music therapy. I think one of the worst misconceptions here is that some people believe there is no need for professional training and education to practice music therapy. Being a music therapist has been a real struggle not to mention trying to educate health and education professionals about music therapy, and that it is a real profession in other Countries! On the other hand, there are many musicians and health professionals who are very interested in music therapy and its use.

Training of Pastors: Calling, Testing and Ordination The profession of being a pastor is under pressure. The challenge for churches and seminaries is to rediscover what it means to be called, and more specifically to be called for full time ministry in a local church. Such a calling needs to be secularised in order to be recovered. In this process the “job” of the called one needs to be determined, at least to a larger extent, by the congregation or parish. The point in question here is the fact that such “functions” as pastors are being given by God for equipping the body (Eph 4:7-16). When this is a reality, testing for such a call asks for a commitment to what the call, training for the profession and retaining status imply. Such testing leads to new freedom and the discovery of the complex nature of ministry on the one hand, and giftedness for specific ministries on the other. While further research is needed, the intermediate questions are whether there are seminaries that are willing to partner with churches to find an answer to the growing gap between professional training and church-based-training, and whether there are churches with the courage to take recruitment, testing, and ongoing training more serious.
