The Divine Child was introduced by Carl Gustav Jung as an archetype closely linked to the process of individuation. Beyond the realm of analytical psychology, this peculiar child figure has been observed in myths and folklore and eventually evolved into a literary archetype known alternatively as das fremde Kind (the strange/alien child). Numerous child figures have since been regarded as representations of this archetype, with the titular character of Michael Ende’s novel Momo (1973) being one of them. While her initial appearance is evocative of the Divine Child, over the course of the story Momo has to accept her fate as the chosen one in a battle against a mysterious foe, ultimately finding herself in the role of the hero of the story. This paper examines the traits of both the archetype of the Divine Child, as well as that of the Hero – including a variation specific to child characters – with the goal of reconsidering if Momo is truly exemplary of the archetype of the Divine Child. This is done with particular regard to Christopher Vogler’s observation that literary archetypes are character functions, rather than fixed types, and as such this paper will discuss how Ende’s protagonist is ultimately an example of this fluidity of functions.

This research is a study that focuses on aspects of human mentality in the form of extroverted personality types on child characters. The object of this study is a children's series novel entitled Little Ballerina and Hwaiting by Muthia Fadhilla Khairunnisa. This research is operated using a psychological study proposed by Carl Gustav Jung. The focus of this research is in the form of extroverted personality types of the main characters in the novels. Based on the focus of the study, the purpose of this research was to describe the extroverted personality type in the character of the child, namely the extroverted-minded, extroverted-feeling, extrovert-sensing, and extrovert-pioneer personality type. As a result of this research four personality types were found on the child character: on the extrovert-minded personality type, the objective minded child produced the idea; on extroverted feelings, children easily adapt; on a realistic and pleasant extrovert-sensing, child resulting from sensory stimulation; and on extrovert-pioneering personality types, fickle and creative children. This type of research is qualitative research and literary psychology as a research approach. The research data is collected using library research techniques. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis techniques and accompanied by in-depth interpretation.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang berfokus pada aspek kejiwaaan manusia berupa tipe kepribadian ekstrover pada tokoh anak. This article presents the problem of the presence of evil in the person of the Old Testament God in Answer to Job undertaken by the founder of analytical psychology, Carl Gustav Jung. The Swiss researcher of religion wonders in it about the sense of the relationship between Job and his Creator. The concept of Erich Neumann’s ethics is also shown, encouraging man to strive towards psychological wholeness, defined by Jung as the self – an archetype linking the human being with the dimension of Transcendence. In addition, reflection is also undertaken on the concept of mental health, which could define the condition of a person living in the spirit of the ethics of wholeness.

Neutrophil extravasation from sinusoids is a critical step for acute inflammatory tissue injury. However, the role of sinusoidal endothelial cells (SECs) in this process remains unclear. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) have been shown to involve gap formation in SECs in several liver diseases. Therefore, the present study examined SEC modifications elicited by galactosamine (Gal)/endotoxin (ET). Treatment of male C3Heb/FeJ mice with Gal/ET or Gal/TNF caused the formation of numerous gaps in SECs at 4 h when no neutrophil extravasation occurred. Six hours after Gal/ET or Gal/TNF treatment, blood elements started to penetrate to the extrasinusoidal space through large gaps. Treatment with ET alone caused sinusoidal neutrophil accumulation but no gap formation, neutrophil extravasation, or hemorrhage. Gal/ET treatment increased hepatic MMP-2 and MMP-9 mRNA expression (6.7- and 11-fold, respectively). Pretreatment with 2-[(4-biphenylsulfonyl) amino]-3-phenyl-propionic acid, an MMP-2/MMP-9 inhibitor (5 mg/kg), minimized gap formation after Gal/ET and Gal/TNF treatment. The MMP inhibitor reduced injury only in the Gal/ET model mainly due to reduced TNF formation. The MMP inhibitor attenuated sinusoidal neutrophil accumulation at 6 h but failed to attenuate Gal/TNF-induced liver injury at 7 h due to excessive apoptosis. These results suggest that Gal/ET or Gal/TNF activates MMPs, which are responsible for SEC gap formation. Although the initial appearance of gap formation is independent of neutrophils, the gaps allow initial contact of neutrophils with damaged hepatocytes. In addition, MMP activation promotes neutrophil accumulation in sinusoids.

Patriarchy is most often understood in relation to the position of women in society. I propose to interrogate patriarchy in relation to children – particularly the male child – as depicted in two major works of Bombay Cinema. The number and scope of critical engagements with the onscreen portrayal of the child figure are restricted, and in the light of this lack I interrogate the portrayal of the male child figure, with particular emphasis on the constructs of masculinity that always implicate the child. The paper will undertake a detailed analysis of these masculine constructs, which are significantly shaped and interrogated in the areas of family and educational institutions for the male child (See Kakar 1981, and Haywood and Mac an Ghaill, 2003). For case studies, I analyze two highly acclaimed contemporary movies of Bombay Cinema: "Taare Zameen Par" (by Aamir Khan, 2007) and "Udaan" (by Vikramditya Motwane, 2010). Both movies critique the many notions associated with manhood and masculinity by situating their arguments within the contexts of family and educational institutions. What makes these critiques even more significant is the resistance offered by the child figure to conventional masculine authority through the agency of imagination. With such agency, not only does the male child debunk the traditionally sanctioned interests and attitudes of men, but also brings about a reconfiguration of those behavioral co-ordinates that have till now dominated the domains of family and education. Using ideas from sociological, film, gender and psychoanalytical theories, I highlight the role of children in subverting the traditionally oppressive ideas associated with Indian masculinity.

Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) had a significant contribution to the psychoanalytical movement and is generally considered as the prototype of the dissident through the impact of his scission and the amplification of the movement he created in his turn (analytical psychology). Jung was the son of a Swiss reverend. He completed his medical studies, specialized in psychiatry and joined the staff of Burgholzli, the renowned psychiatric hospital in Zurich, run at that time by the famous Dr. Eugen Bleuler. In 1902-1903 he attended a traineeship in Paris with Pierre Janet, and then returned to Zurich and he was called senior physician at Burgholzli. It was in this context that Jung was introduced to Freud in 1907. Freud would be seduced by the prestige and personality of Jung and would soon see in him the spiritual son that could ensure the survival of psychoanalysis, so much so as Jung was not Jewish. Intense, professional and friendship bonds form between the two, with an ambivalence dominated by the inclination of Jung to underestimate himself in comparison with Freud, the fervor of his devotion to the “father” of psychoanalysis and oneiric hostility (emphasized by Freud in the common interpretation of dreams).

This paper is focused on understanding the phenomenon of dance in an artistic, psychological and psychotherapeutic context. It deals with the differences in the dance: 1) when it exists in artistic context oriented to the product - artwork; and 2) when it exists in the context of psychotherapy directed towards the psychological process of a person. Framework of Carl Gustav Jung?s analytical psychology served as a reference point in understanding the difference. The paper discussed the archetypal nature of the dance, its psychotherapeutic potential, as well as various artistic, psychological and psychotherapeutic aspects of dance when it is manifested as an expression of active imagination.

Literary works are closely related to everyday human life and are the thoughts or expressions of the author. Literary works as the author's expression represent experiences, thoughts, feelings, and ideas expressed by using language as the medium. This study aims to analyze the collective unconsciousness of the characters in Ahmad Fuadi's novel Anak Rantau through the psychoanalytic approach of Carl Gustav Jung. This research is a type of library research. The research data is in the form of a novel entitled Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. From the results of the study, it was found: (1) the personal role of Datuk Marajo, which displays a different character to cover the character that belongs to him, (2) the role of the archetype of anima in Martiaz, namely the feminine side of a man, (3) ) the role of shadow (shadow) in the character Jenggo to cover his mistakes, and (4) the role of self-archetype (self) in Datuk Marajo to get calm.

- This paper explores some of the daimonic elements of unconscious mentation that emerge both in dreams and in the transference/countertransference field with early-trauma patients and illustrates these with an extended clinical example. An archaic and typical (archetypal) trauma complex is articulated (with diagram) as a bi-polar structure consisting of a divine child protected and/or persecuted by an inner guardian angel. Sources of this structure and its mythological inner objects are traced to trauma at the stage that Winnicott calls unintegration and to flooding by disintegration anxiety at a time before nascent egostructure has formed. In an extended case example, the author shows how the patient's traumatized innocence and desire for a new start, thwarted by self-attacking defences, pulls into playing the inflated role of her guardian angel, leading to re-traumatization in the transference. Working through is seen as the necessary disillusionment and humanization of these daimonic structures as they are projected, suffered and transmuted by the analytic partners in the stormy process of psychotherapy
