Nigerian University and Falling Standards: Who’s Responsibility?

This paper aims to examine the falling standard of Nigerian universities by discussing whose responsibility is it for the failure to meet standards. The paper was not designed to criticize any officers’ roles or duties but intends to investigate who should be responsible for maintaining adequate standards within universities. The paper started by elucidating from the extant literature issues relating to quality and how it has been perceived in the Nigeria university context. The paper uses a qualitative approach with interview as the main research instrument. The study uses purposive sampling method to selected 9 universities located in different part of Southwest area in Nigeria, 3 of each from the 3 main owners (federal, state, private). The findings reveal that responsibility for the failing standard of university education in Nigeria is no-one’s responsibility but everyone’s business.

The purpose of this research was to analize (1) the impact of work motivation to conflict stress caused by doble roles on career women, (2) the effect of spouse support to conflict stress caused by doble roles on career women, (3) the influence of spouse support to marriage contentment on career women, and (4) The influence of conflict stress of doble roles on career women and their marriage contement. This research employed quantitatif approch. There were 30 employees of BNI Makassar branch taken as subjects based on purposive sampling method. The 4 scale research instrument was applied while regression program of SPSS windows 14.00 was employed to analize the data. Study found that (1) there were negative impact of work motivation to conflict stress of doble roles on career women (r=0,436), (2) there were negatif effect of spouse support to conflict stress caused by doble roles on career women (r=0,745), (3) there were positif influence of spouse support to marriage contentment on career women (r=0,645), and (4) there were negative influence of conflict stress of doble roles on career women and their marriage contement (r=0,429).

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to investigate the comparison between student’s activity in studying civic through inside-outside circle and bamboo dancing method of SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang. Qualitative approach method was used. The samples were 54 students, selected by using a purposive sampling method in nonprobably sampling of 267 students as population. The obtained data were analysed by using paired sample t-test. Document and observation were used to collect the data. The result showed that there were significant differences in both inside-outside circle class (average = 75.07) and bamboo dancing class (average = 71.44). furthermore, it was also proved through t-test that Sig = .015 < .05 means that Ha was excepted Ho was rejected. In conclusion, there were significant differeces in students activity through inside-outside circle cooperative learning method.  Key Word : Student Activity, Inside-Outside Circle, Bamboo Dancing.  Abstrak: Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan keaktifan belajar siswa antara menggunakan model pembelajaran inside-outside circle dengan tari bambu pada mata pelajaran PKn di SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah komparatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini 267 siswa dengan jumlah sampel 54 siswa yang ditentukan menggunakan nonprobability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data melalui dokumentasi dan observasi. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan rumus t-test dua sampel independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada perbedaan keaktifan belajar siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe inside-outside circle  dan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipr tari bambu. Dimana dibuktikan melalui hasil uji hipotesis bahwa sig = .015 < .05 sehingga Ha diterima Ho ditolak. Kemudian diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata pada kedua kelas memiliki nilai yang berbeda. Pada kelas inside-outside circle memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 75.07 sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada kelas tari bambu adalah sebesar 71.44. Kata Kunci: Keaktifan Belajar, Inside-Outside Circle, Tari Bambu

This research aims to analyze the influence of religiosity and the county of origin against the purchase intention in KFC Pandanaran Semarang with consumer attitudes as intervening variable. The population in this research is a college student of economic faculty of Islamic University of Sultan Agung. The technique of the sample with a purposive sampling method and incidental sampling.Samples taken as many as 100 collage students, with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire.Data analysis using SPSS 23.0. The results showed that religiosity and country of origin has a positive and significant effect on consumer attitudes. Country of origin and consumer attitudes has a positive and significant effect on the purchase intention. Religiosity has a negative and significant effect on purchase intention. Consumer attitudes not as intervening variables between religiosity towards purchase intention and between the country of origin towards purchase intention.Keywords: Religiosity, Country of origin, Consumer attitudes, and Purchase intention.

This research aims to describe the application of Islamic Psychology in the practice of Muslim psychologists and the obstacles in its application. This study uses a qualitative approach for taking respondents using purposive sampling techniques. There are twenty respondents in this study. The method used in collecting data from this study is the interview and Focus Discussion Group. This study found that the understanding of Islamic Psychology was quite diverse, but in essence, an approach that used the Qur'an and Hadist was the primary reference source. Its application, including the psychological services, and the process of counseling and therapy were carried out by integrating psychology and Islam. The cases also handled varied, not limited to severe or mild cases. The challenges were related to the ability of the psychologists and the acceptance of the clients.

This study aims to determine the efect of understanding of accounting and tax provisions and the tax transparency on tax compliance. This research was conducted on individual taxpayers SMEs in Yogyakarta. This study used a survey approach as collecting data method. The sample in this study was taken using purposive sampling method. Subjects in this study are individual taxpayers, particularly SMEs in Yogyakarta. Multiple regressions with Likert scale measurement were used as the analysis tools. One hundred respondents individual taxpayers entrepreneurs, especially SMEs in Yogyakarta were used as the respondents and the fnding of this study is that the understanding of the accounting and tax provisions comprehension positive efect on tax compliance. Researchers also found that transparency does not afect the taxpayer compliance.Key Words : Accounting Comprehension , Tax Policy, Transparency, Compliance

Electronic learning or online learning is a part of recent education which is dramatically used in universities all over the world. As well as the use and integration of e-learning is at the crucial stage in all developing countries. It is the most significant part of education that enhances and improves the educational system. This paper is to examine the hindrances that influence e-learning in Nigerian university system. In order to have an inclusive research, a case study research was performed in Evangel University, Akaeze, southeast of Nigeria. The paper demonstrates similar hindrances on country side. This research is a blend of questionnaires and interviews, the questionnaires was distributed to lecturers and an interview was conducted with management and information technology unit. Research had shown the use of e-learning in university education which has influenced effectively and efficiently the education system and that the University education in Nigeria is at the crucial stage of e-learning. Hence, some of the hindrances are avoiding unbeaten integration of e-learning. The aim of this research is to unravel the barriers that impede the integration of e-learning in universities in Nigeria. Nevertheless, e-learning has modified the teaching and learning approach but integration is faced with many challenges in Nigerian University.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of company’s size, profitability, solvability, and the size of the accounting firm towards audit delay. The object in this research are property and real estate companies listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) for the period 2013-2015. The sample is selected by purposive sampling method. There are 42 companies selected as sample. Data used in this research is a secondary data such as audited financial reports. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression. The result of this research shows that company’s size, profitability, and solvability have no influence on audit delay, while the size of accounting firm has significant positive influences on audit delay. The result also shows that company’s size, profitability, solvability, and the size of of the accounting firm simultaneously influence audit delay. This research was conducted to examine the effect age of company, likuidity and profitability to timeliness in the submission of the financial report of manufacturing in Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2012. Sample that as many as 92 companies. Sample determination technique using purposive sampling method. Hypotesis testing using a logistic anlysis. The result showed that all variables are not significantly to the timeliness.

The purpose of this research is to test the effect of working capital (cash turn over, inventory turnover and receivable turnover) towards profitability at LQ-45 companies listed at Bursa Efek Indonesia. The population of this research are all LQ-45 companies listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). The samples are 19 LQ-45 companies listed in BEI during the year 2004 - 2006. The samples are chosen by using purposive sampling method. The data are analysed with partial test (T-test) and simultant test (F-test) by means of SPSS Ver 13.0. The results show that cash turn over, inventory turnover, and receivable turnover simultaneously have significant influence towards profitability. Partially cash turn over, inventory turnover, and receivable turnover have also significant influence to profitability.

The study attempted to find out the quality of the evaluation procedure of B.Ed. programme of Garhwal University, the Central University in view of NCTE Norms. The study also reveals the method and procedure of evaluation according to the latest 2 years B.Ed. programme. For the study, purposive sampling method was used. The tools – questionnaire and interview schedule was developed. On the basis of findings, it concluded that the evaluation procedure was in accordance with the NCTE Norms. With the implementation of two years B.Ed. course, the method of evaluation has also become more practical oriented, which has become a remarkable achievement and surely enhance the quality of prospective teachers
