The aims of this research are to find out (1) the differences of the use of video and random cards with pictures and worksheets on the skill of writing experience-story of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Panggang; (2) the effectiveness of the use of video and random cards compared to the pictures and worksheets on the skill of writing experience-story of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Panggang. The research approach is quantitative and the method is quasi-experimental with pretest and posttest. Based on the results of the calculation of the t-test, the score of posttest on the experimental group and the control group is 2.193 with df=38 obtained p=0.035 which are less than 5% (p <0.05). The t-test results showed that there was the difference between the skills of writing experience-story from the experimental group that uses video and random cards with pictures and worksheets. Gain score showed the differences in the level of per cent (t = 2.895; P <0.05) (t = 2.895; 0.006 <0.05). The results showed that video has more effective effects than random cards with pictures and worksheets on improving the skills of writing experience story of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Panggang.

This quasi-experimental study aimed to assess the effects of a music and writing program on lexical spelling in Grade 2 elementary school students. A music and writing program was developed and tested in an experimental group ( n = 24) comprising a Grade 2 class in a French-language elementary school in Québec (Canada). Another Grade 2 class at the same school served as a control group ( n = 23). Both groups were assessed for lexical spelling in January and May. Group comparison of the post-test results on performance and progress in lexical spelling showed significantly better scores for the experimental over the control group.

The purposes of this study are to find out the effect of REAP strategy on reading comprehension of the fifth grade elementary students of third cluster of Kotagede Yogyakarta. The research method in this study was quasi-experimental with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population was all of fifth grade elementary students of third cluster of Kotagede Yogyakarta. The sample was fifth grade students of SD Baluwarti, SD Kotagede 1, and SD Kotagede 5 Yogyakarta that were establised by cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected using tests. The validity of the instrument was measured in terms of content and construct validity. The reliability of the instrument was stated good with the score of Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,734. The data of this study were analized by independent sample t-test and Manova with Hotteling’s Trace formula. The result showed that REAP strategy gave a positive and significant effect on reading comprehension that is proved by the score of t-test = 4,914 and 3,286 with sig = 0,000 and 0,002. Based on the result, it can be concluded that REAP strategy gives positive and significant effect on reading comprehension of the fifth grade elementary students of third cluster of Kotagede Yogyakarta.

INTRODUCTION: Low levels of hamstring flexibility may trigger certain acute and chronic pathologies and injuries. Poor flexibility is observed among teenagers and several authors have recommended the use of specific programs in this population to improve flexibility levels. The Pilates Method (PM) may be an appropriate intervention to achieve this purpose and has rarely been used with this population. Objective: Study was to assess changes in the flexibility of hamstrings after running a didactic PM unit for high-school students.METHODS: This research was developed through a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 66 high-school students divided into experimental group (EG=39) and control group (CG=27). The intervention was carried out 2 times a week for six weeks. Each session lasted 55 minutes divided into three parts: warm-up, main part and cool down. Hamstring flexibility was assessed using the toe-touch test. Paired Student t-test and t-test for independent samples were applied. The size of the effect (d) was determined.RESULTS: The EG showed significant provident in hamstring flexibility (+3.54±3.9cm). The effect size was low (d>d>0,2<0,53), which means that a small proportion of participants improved their results. The control group did not have significant changes after the intervention. In the experimental group, both boys (+3.38± 3.7cm) and girls (+3.85 ± 4.2cm) showed significant improvements. The effect size was low for boys (d>d>0.2<0.53), which means that a small proportion of participants improved their results, and high for girls (d>1.15) which means that a large proportion of participants improved their results.CONCLUSION: This study showed that six-weeks of Pilates training in Physical Education classes has significantly improved the hamstrings flexibility among adolescents.

This study aims to determine the effect of scrapbook media on students' creative thinking skills. The type of research used is Quasi Experiment using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design with a sample of fifth grade students at SDN 59 Rasalewi, Bima City. The instruments used in this research are test instruments and observation sheets. Analysis of the data used in the form of percentage analysis for students' creative thinking skills, N-gain test and t-test. The results of data analysis show that from 21 students the total number of students is 76.19% or 16 students get the N-gain in the very high category and 23.81% or 5 students get the influence in the high category. The t-test results show that tcount = 2.259 > ttable = 1.725 (significant level = 0.05) so Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using scrapbook media on students' creative thinking abilities.

This study aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant effect of using Word Clap Game on the vocabulary mastery of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Banjar Jawa. The research was true experimental with Post-test Only Control Group Design. The population was the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Banjar Jawa. Cluster Random Sampling was assigned to select the sample of the study. The samples were 30 students at grade 5A for experimental group and 30 students at grade 5B for control group. Those two groups were determined by lottery. The experimental group was taught by using Word Clap Game and the control group was taught by using conventional teaching technique. The data were analyzed by using T-test through SPSS program. The result of the data analysis showed that students in experimental group performed better than the students in control group. It was proven by the result of the descriptive statistics that showed the mean score of the experimental group was 89,33 while the mean score of the control group was 84,67. The result of the t-test also showed that the value of the tobs was greater than the tcv where the tobs was 2,586 while the tcv was 1,672. Based on the findings, it was concluded that there was a significant effect of using word clap game on the students’ vocabulary mastery rather than using conventional teaching.

Data collection techniques that used were test and scale technique. The test was used to find out the critical thinking and the scale were used to find out the interpersonal intelligence. The hypothesis was tested using t-test and MANOVA with 0.05 significant levels. The result of this research shows that the use of the cooperative problem-based learning model in natural science teaching is effective in improving critical thinking and interpersonal intelligence of the fifth-grade students. Based on the result of t-test in posttest, the experimental I and II with control group show that the sig. < 0.05 and the result of the MANOVA in the experimental I and II with control group show that the significant value 0.000 ˂ 0.05.
