The problem primarily faced by vocational education institutions is a gap between skills taught at schools and skills required by the industries. This leads to the increasing unemployment rate of Vocational High School graduates. Thus relevant curriculum is required to satisfy the industry demands. This study aimed at analyzing the relevance of the productive course of hair beauty in Vocational High Schools to the job requirements in beauty salons in Padang. This study was qualitative descriptive. The data collection used interviews, observation and documentation. The data collection instruments consisted of observation sheets and interview guidelines. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, presentation and conclusion. The results showed positive relevance of the productive course of hair beauty in Vocational High Schools to the job requirements in beauty salons in Padang. The skills learned in the schools were adequately relevant with the skills required by beauty salons, since from thirteen productive lessons taught in the schools, eleven of them were implemented and used in the workplaces.

Industry 4.0 is the state of the industry in the face of the 21st century when there is a massive change through technology that opens a barrier between the digital and physical worlds. There will be many types of jobs lost, and new types of jobs will emerge. Faced with this, high mastery skills are required by graduates. In vocational high schools the mastery of skills is done by sending students directly into industrial work practices. But are IWP activities really able to be used to improve skills in dealing with Industry 4.0? What types of skills students must master when dealing with industry 4.0 This article will conduct a study of various related literature about IWP and industry 4.0. The results of the study will link the effects resulting from IWP activities and needs in industry 4.0. The results of the study indicate that the IWP program in vocational high schools needs some improvement to be able to produce vocational high school graduates who are ready to face industry 4.0.

Preliminary study in Trenggalek city showed that there was a mismatch between the students’ skills learned at vocational high schools with their fields of work. It indicated that the role of vocational career center as a mediator between school and industry have not maximally yet. This study aimed to (1) describe how the vocational career center do its jobdesk, (2) categorize its performance, and (3) find the deficiency from the implementation of a career center in vocational high schools. The data analysis used a descriptive analysis from both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The result of study showed that the jobdesk of career center were collecting graduates databases, grouping the students who want to look for a job or study to higher education, and facilitating the students and world of work in the labour recruitment process. The performance of career center in Trenggalek Regency was good. From some predictors, those were job vacancy information, cooperation with world of work, alumni networking, data collection, communication between alumni, and alumni contribution, the career center’s aspect that need to be upgraded was the cooperation with the world of work.

This study aimed to identify the relevance of vocational high school curriculum with the industrial needs particularly related to batik making competences. The data collection was carried out through a survey to 35 batik industries within Priangan area, West Java province, Indonesia. The instrument employed was a questionnaire consisting of batik making competence units based on Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia (SKKNI), Indonesia National Performance Competence Standards. The respondents of the study were owners of the batik industries requested to measure competence standards on SKKNI in relation to the competences needed within batik industry. The results of the study showed that in general, the competences on the SKKNI taught in vocational high schools were relevant to the competences needed in the industry. There were a few competences classified irrelevant which were Canting and stamping tools. The findings indicated that the competences taught in the schools are in accordance with the standards set in the SKKNI. It is expected that teachers are able to strengthen the competences taught in schools and regularly coordinate with the industry to keep the curriculum updated.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan keefektifan pengelolaan lab komputer di sekolah menengah kejuruan negeri se Kota Banjarbaru, menggunakan pendekatan deskritif kualitatif, bertempat di SMK negeri se Kota Banjarbaru. Populasi sekaligus menjadi sampel penelitian adalah tiga orang kepala sekolah, 15 orang guru, tiga orang laboran, 30 orang siswa kelas XII. Objek penelitian adalah lab komputer. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terstruktur dan observasi di lapangan. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis dengan cara membandingkan antara rerata skor observasi dan norma yang telah ditentukan. Pengelolaan lab komputer secara umum kurang efektif, perencanaan yang tidak terstruktur dan kurang melibatkan pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan, pengorganisasian yang tidak maksimal, pelaksanaan yang masih kurang sesuai dengan perencanaan, dan pengawasan yang dilakukan secara tidak terencana dan tidak ada tindak lanjut yang jelas. Untuk itu pengelolaan lab komputer memerlukan strategi dalam melaksanakan fungsinya sebagai salah satu sarana dan prasarana kegiatan pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan kekuatan sumber daya yang ada, memperbaiki kelemahan, dan tanggap terhadap peluang serta mencari solusi untuk setiap hambatan yang ditemukan. Untuk meningkatkan keefektifan pengelolaan lab komputer dilakukan dengan konsultasi dan komunikasi dua arah dengan pihak yang terkait dalam upaya memberdayakan dan mengembangkan sumber daya serta memberi solusi dan arahan penyelesaian masalah yang tepat. Kata kunci: keefektifan, pengelolaan, lab komputer THE MANAGEMENT OF COMPUTER LABORATORIES IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL Abstract This study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of the management of computer labs in state vocational high schools in Banjarbaru. This study used the qualitative descriptive approach, held at all vocational high schools in Banjarbaru. The sample of the study which was also the population consisted of three principals, 15 teachers, three laboratorians, and 30 students of class XII. The objects were computer laboratories. The techniques of collecting the data were structured interviews and field observations. The research instruments were in the form of questionnaire and observation sheet. The data were analyzed by comparing the mean of observation score with the predetermined norm. The research results were as follows. The management of computer labs was generally not effective. This could be seen from the unstructured planning and a lack of involvement of the related parties, the organization which was not maximum, the implementation which was still not in accordance with the planning, and the unplanned supervision without any clear follow-up. Therefore, computer lab management needed strategies to carry out its function as one of the learning activity infrastructures by making use of existing resources, improving weaknesses, being responsive to the opportunities, and finding solutions to any obstacles found. Improving the effectiveness of the computer lab management should be done by conducting two-way communication and consultation with relevant parties in an effort to empower and develop resources and provide solutions and guidance to solve problems accurately. This study aims to describe the suitability of the RPP with the Learning Implementation Process, the suitability of the RPP made by teachers with the 2013 Curriculum, and the obstacles faced by teachers in implementing the RPP. Data collection using, documentation, observation, interviews and then data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that the percentage of completeness of the RPP components of Vocational High School Business Management in Padang with the Curriculum Component of the 2013 RPP is 97.01%, the percentage of the suitability of the RPP with the implementation of learning is 27.7%, 27.8%, 30.4%,36 , 2% and 41.7%. this means that the teacher is not competent in carrying out the lesson plans when implementing learning in the classroom. The obstacles faced by teachers are lack of time, IT like Infocus is also inadequate in schools and lack of source books.Keywords: learning implementation plan, learning implementation process, curriculum 2013

ABSTRACT Vocational High School (SMK) S 8 Grakarsa Bengkulu which is located on Jl. Adam Malik Km 8, Kel. Sido Mulyo, Kec. Gading Cempaka, Bengkulu City. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data collection technique in this study was by means of Observation, Interview, Questionnaire and Documentation, when teaching students the teacher went through (3) stages, namely the initial, core and closing stages of using learning media, knowing the concept of learning media, who used learning media, the stages of making learning media and internal and external factors that were found when video-based learning media were applied, in the implementation of learning in the room, students were seen to be active and enthusiastic in participating in learning because the teacher used video-based media by sending videos via android with an attractive display and media on when learning takes place, so that learning is interesting and good.

High school in Indonesia has two types, specifically senior high schools and vocational schools (SMK). Vocational high schools in Indonesia have a lot of education focus which aims to provide education to their students so they can work immediately. One of the vocational schools in Indonesia is the Tangerang 4 Vocational High School which focuses on education in engineering. One of the engineering scopes at SMK Negeri 4 Tangerang is "Drawing Technique for Building" (Teknik Gambar Bangunan). "Drawing Technique for Building" is a vocational class that specializes in learning how to draw techniques for houses and buildings. As vocational students of "Building Drawing Technique", each student must learn how to draw techniques according to ISO standards complete with various etiquettes in manually, after proficient in drawing manually, students must learn AutoCAD, an software for drawing because this becomes the main competency as students "Building Drawing Techniques". To increase the capacity and capabilities of its students at SMK 4 Tangerang, the Budi Luhur University Architecture Study Program introduces one of the software related to building drawing The software introduced in Revit Architecture version 2013. Revit Architecture 2013 is a software that aims to create building construction designs for architects and supports the concept of BIM (Building Information Modeling). The output of this socialization is that students of SMK Negeri 4 Tangerang understanding about software for drawing techniques other than AutoCAD and various conveniences when drawing with Revit Architecture 2013 software

This study aimed to measure the validity and reliability of the questionnaire in the context of scientific research on the cooperation of vocational high schools and industry for example in the field of Hotel management. Participants (n=20) were teachers of Vocational High Schools and Trainers of Hotels. This is a quantitative study. The validity test was conducted through items content validity using Pearson Correlation Product Moment. The Cronbach Alpha value was applied to determine the reliability of the questionnaire. The result showed that questionnaire is valid with 35 questions and the values of Cronbach Alpha are Variable 1= 0,94 (perfect), Variable 2=0,84 (high), Variable 3= 0,53 (average), Variable 4=0,92 (perfect). Based on the results, it can be stated that the questionnaire is valid and reliable. Therefore, it can be used as an instrument for a study

<p><em>The objectives of this research is to know the Effects of Self-confidence and Vocabulary Mastery towards Students’ Speaking Skill – Survey at State Vocational High Schools, Tangerang City, Banten. </em><em>The research populations were 600 students and the samples were 60 students taken from eleventh grade SMKN 7 and SMKN 9 vocational high schools at second semester of 2019/2020 academic year in Tangerang city. The instruments of the research were composed of 25 items of vocabulary test questions and 40 items questionnaire of students’ self-confidence. This research was designed and calculated using quantitative calculation. The major findings of the research indicates that the effects of self-confidence and vocabulary mastery towards the students’ speaking skill of eleventh grade Tangerang City Vocational High School is of high level category. The results of the research are as follow:1)T</em><em>here are any significant effects of self-confidence and vocabulary mastery jointly towards students’ speaking skill at the State Vocational High Schools in Tangerang City, Banten. It is proved by the value of Sig is 0.000&lt;0.05 and the value of F<sub>test</sub> is 45.105. 2) There is a significant effect of self-confidence towards students’ speaking skill. It is proved by the value of Sig 0.042&lt;0.05 and t<sub>test </sub>of 2.075. 3) There is no significant effect of vocabulary mastery towards students’ speaking skill at the State Vocational High Schools in Tangerang City, Banten. It is proved by the value of Sig is 0.138&gt;0.05 and t<sub>test</sub> 1.502. </em><em>Based on the research findings it can be recommended that speaking skill requires high level of self-confidence and adequate vocabulary mastery. Data from the City Blitar City Police Unit in 2016, as many as 1,799 or 15.9% of students committed traffic violations, from January to March 2017 as many as 438 or 11.3% of students committed  traffic violations. In addition to violations, 25 or 15.1% of traffic accidents involving students occurred. The accident caused 68 students to become victims. In 2017 January to March as many as 6 or 12.5% students were involved in traffic accidents. The accident caused 21 students to become victims. According to the data, it can be seen that the number of traffic violations in Blitar City is dominated by students, both students of junior high schools, senior high schools or vocational high schools. Then the Save Our Student (SOS) program was implemented to reduce the number of traffic offenses for students. The Save Our Student (SOS) Program is a Satlantas Polres Blitar Kota program in collaboration with schools, both Middle School (SMP), Senior High School (SMA) or Vocational High School (SMK) in Blitar City. The Save Our Student (SOS) Program is a program based on Law Number 22 Year 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transport and the Safety riding program. The Save Our Student (SOS) program is not just a momentary program, but an ongoing program in an effort to reduce the number of traffic violations on students in the City of Blitar. The Blitar City Police Traffic Unit Police in implementing the Save Our Student (SOS) Program needs a communication strategy, where the success rate of a goal will be achieved along with how the communication strategy is carried out in implementing the Save Our Student (SOS) Program. The purpose of the program, which is to reduce the number of traffic violations among students and prevent traffic accidents with fatality fatalities will be achieved.
