Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) kelas X Teknik Komputer Jaringan (TKJ) dalam pembelajaran Perbaikan dan Setting Ulang PC melalui penerapan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X kompetensi keahlian TKJ. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi dengan instrumen checklist dan tes unjuk kerja. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut: (a) penerapan model PBL dalam pembelajaran materi perbaikan dan setting ulang PC dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran yaitu sebesar 24,2%, (b) Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa setelah penerapan PBL yaitu siswa dengan kategori keterampilan berpikir kritis sangat tinggi sebanyak 20 siswa (69%), kategori tinggi sebanyak 7 siswa (24,2%), kategori rendah sebanyak 2 siswa (6,9%) dan kategori sangat rendah yaitu sebanyak 0 siswa (0%), (c) penerapan PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 31,03%, dan (d) Hasil belajar siswa setelah penerapan PBL yakni jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 29 siswa (100%). THE APPLICATION OF THE PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE THE STUDENTS CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AND LEARNING OUTCOMESAbstractThis study aims to improve the critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of Grade X students of Network Computer Engineering (NCE) of vocational high schools (VHSs) in the learning of PC repair and re-setting through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This was a classroom action research. The study involve Grade X students of the NCE expertise competency as the research subjects. The data were collected through observation with a checklist instrument and a performance test. They were descriptively analyzed. The results of the study show that: (a) the application of the PBL model is capable of improving the students’ critical thinking skills in the learning of PC repair and re-setting at 24.2%,(b) the students’ critical thinking skills in the learning of PC repair and re-setting after the application of the PBL model is categories of critical thinking skills is very high as 20 students (69%), high categories as 7 students (24.2%), low categories as 2 student (6.9%) and very low categories as 0 student (0%), (c) the application of PBL model is capable of improving the the students’ learning outcomes in the learning of PC repair and re-setting at 31.03%, and (d) the students’ learning outcomes after the application of the PBL model namely the number of students who reach the KKM as much as 29 students (100%).

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes based on education level, learning materials and teaching materials used. This research used meta-analysis method. This research was obtained from 7 national scientific journals. Based on the results obtained based on the level of education, the PBL model is effectively used at the junior high school and senior high school levels. Based on learning materials, PBL models are used to develop critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes. Based on the learning material, the PBL model is more effective in using the human respiratory system material for critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes. Then based on the teaching materials, all teaching materials are effective when using the PBL model for critical thinking skill and scientific attitudes. Penelitain ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL)  terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah siswa berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan, materi pembelajaran dan bahan ajar yang digunakan. Metode yang digunakan adalah meta-analisis. Penelitian ini diperoleh dari 7 jurnal ilmiah nasional. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan, model PBL efektif digunakan pada jenjang SMA maupun SMP. Berdasarkan materi pembelajaran, model PBL untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berfikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah. Berdasarkan materi pembelajaran, model PBL lebih efektif menggunakan materi sistem pernapasan manusia untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah. Kemudian berdasarkan bahan ajar seluruh bahan ajar efektif jika menggunakan model PBL untuk berfikir kritis maupun sikap ilmiah.

AbstrakMata kuliah IPA Terpadu di IAIN Bengkulu merupakan mata kuliah baru bagi mahasiswa Tadris IPA. Hal ini dikarenakan pada tahun 2017/2018 baru ada tiga angkatan. Sehingga, hasil belajar mata kuliah ini tidak terlalu baik. Menurut wawancara dengan salah satu mahasiswa, salah satu penyebabnya adalah kesulitan mengintegrasikan komponen kimia, fisika, biologi secara bersamaan pada satu materi tertentu. Lebih spesifiknya, mahasiswa kesulitan untuk menjelaskan satu materi tertentu yang penjabarannya harus dijelaskan secara komprehensif baik dari segi mata kuliah kimia, fisika, biologi.  Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan perbaikan pembelajaran dan meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis mahasiswa melalui pendekatan saintifik pada mata kuliah IPA Terpadu. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitan tindakan kelas. Pembelajarannya terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari beberapa tahapan, yaitu; perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Waktu dilakukan pada semester genap tahun akademik 2017/2018. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa program studi Tadris IPA semester dua tahun akademik 2017/2018 yang sedang menempuh matakuliah IPA Terpadu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang dilakukan selama 2 siklus pembelajaran telah meningkat pada siklus yang ke-dua. Selain itu juga kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran di matakuliah IPA Terpadu melalui pendekatan saintifik dapat terukur dan telah berhasil berdasarkan indikator keberhasilan. Increasing the Critical Thinking Ability of Tadris IPA Students through a Scientific Approach in Integrated Science Courses AbstractThe Integrated Science course at IAIN Bengkulu is a new subject for Tadris IPA students. This is because in 2017/2018 there were only three generations. So, the learning outcomes of this course are not very good. According to an interview with one of the students, one of the reasons is the difficulty of integrating chemical, physical, biological components simultaneously on one particular material. More specifically, students find it difficult to explain one particular material whose translation must be explained comprehensively both in terms of chemistry, physics, biology courses. Therefore, this study aims to improve learning and improve students' critical thinking skills through a scientific approach to Integrated Science courses. This research method uses classroom action research. Learning consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of several stages, namely; planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used are observation and learning outcomes tests. Time is carried out in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. The research subjects were students of the 2017/2018 academic year Tadris IPA study program who were taking the Integrated Science course. The results showed that student learning outcomes carried out during the 2 learning cycles had increased in the second cycle. In addition, students' critical thinking skills in the implementation of learning in the Integrated Science course through a scientific approach can be measured and have been successful based on indicators of success.

<p><em>This study aims to improve critical thinking skills through the application of a Problem Based Learning based. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles with planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection instruments use question instruments, observation sheets, documentation, and field notes. The subject of the study was the fourth grade students of SDN 1 Muryolobo. The results showed an increase in critical thinking skills as indicated by the data in the pre cycle of 42%, in the first cycle increased by 67,23%, and in the second cycle increased by 80,72%. Increasing critical thinking skills also affects the students learning outcomes. This is indicated by the learning outcomes on Indonesian language in pre cycle, cycle I, and cycle II, are 45%, 68%, and 81%. Furthermore, the learning outcomes of IPS in pre cycle, cycle I, and cycle II are 36%, 63%, and 81%.</em></p>

Abstract. This research to describe implementation of Problem Based Learning models, activities students, and critical thinking skills (CTS) in learning using PBL models on acid-base material. The design used is One Group Pretest Posttest Design with 32 subjects.  This study resulted is: (1) implementation of learning using PBL model  get the results of the average value sequentially at meetings one and two of 3.60 and 3.76, with very good criteria (2) Students perform relevant activities  meaning of students have practiced CTS. The relevant activities of students in sequence at meetings one and two of 98.75% and 97.7%. (3) CTS learners experienced an increase, overall the pretest and posttest scores of students received a percentage of 90.63% students in high category and 9.38% in medium category. The percentage of component of interpretation, inference, and analysis in high category are as follows 78.13%; 81.25%; 90.63%, and the medium category 21.88%; 18.75%; 9.28%.

The research aims to analyze the quality of the learning process using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to find out the improvement of student’s motivation and critical thinking skills. It is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, cycle I consist of 4 meetings, and cycles II consists of 3 meetings, with the topics of Temperature, Expansion, and Heat. The subjects of the research were 34 students on grade VII in one of the junior high schools in Malang. Instruments used to measure the implementation of learning PBL model using the form of implementation sheet following the lesson plan, tools to measure motivation using a poll and to measure the critical thinking skill, and researchers use essay questions. The implementation of the PBL model in the cycle, I was 72.9% and was classified as a good qualification; while in cycle II, it was 91.2% and was classified as a very good qualification. The analysis of student’s learning motivation in pre-cycle was 56%, was classified as a quite good qualification, cycle I was 67.2%. I was classified as a quite good qualification, while in Cycle II, it was 87.2% and was classified as good qualification. The analysis of student’s average critical thinking skills in pre-cycle was 44.12% and was classified lack of good qualification, cycle I was 76.4% and was classified as a quite good qualification; while in cycle II it was 88.4% and was classified as good qualification. The results showed that the PBL model successfully improved motivation and critical thinking skills of students beginning the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II.

This research aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning using puzzle media on students' critical thinking. The study population was all grade VII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung totaling 192 people. The research sample was students from 2 classes, namely class VII D and VII F who were selected from the population by using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a pretest-posttest sheet. The design used is the nonequivalent control group design. The data analysis used t-test with a significance of 5%. The results showed a sig significance value. (2-tailed) 0.13 <0.05, which means that the n-Gain mean of critical thinking learning outcomes of students between the experimental class and the control class is significantly different. Thus, it is known that the problem-based learning model using puzzle media can affect the critical thinking skills of students.

Critical thinking skills are one of the 21st century skills that are effectively trained by using the OR-IPA and Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model, therefore this research aims to compare the effectiveness of both. Research design used True Experiment with Randomized Subject Control-group Pre-test and Post-test with 94 pre-service physics teachers. Data collected using the critical thinking skills test and the student response sheet, and then analyzed using t-test and N-gain. The results showed: (1) the teaching instruments of OR-IPA and PBL Model have fulfilled the validity requirements (rα ~ .26) and reliability (α = .96 - .99). (2) Each of OR-IPA, PBL, and Conventional Model can significantly increase critical thinking skills at α = 5%, respectively with average N-gain: medium (.60), medium (.48), and low (.14); with the student response of: very positive, very positive, and less positive. (3) The OR-IPA and PBL Model are effective to improve critical thinking skills, while the Conventional Model is ineffective, and the OR-IPA Model is more effective compared to the PBL Model. Implication of this research is that the OR-IPA Model can be an innovative solution to improve critical thinking skills, but there is still a need for repetitive research like this. Basically students have critical thinking skills. Students 'critical thinking skills that are still low are needed in a way so that students' critical thinking skills increase, With the Problem Based Learning learning model in the hope that students' critical thinking skills will increase. the purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of problem based learning in improving students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is Action Research, with the stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two lessons. The subjects in this study were MTs students. In Ambulu sub-district. Data collection techniques use tests and non-tests. The results showed that student learning outcomes in the first cycle got a score of 45 with very low criteria, in cycle II it increased to 92.5 with very good criteria. Students' critical thinking skills in the first cycle experienced 36% classical completeness with very low criteria, in cycle II it increased to 80% with high criteria. The results of the study prove that the application of the Problem Based Learning model is very effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

The purpose of this research was to describe the improvement of integrated thematic learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model at 4th grade of elementry school in Batu Taba. The research subjects were teachers and 27 students. Research site in Batu Taba. The result showed an increase in : a)RPP cycle I 80,55% (good) and cycle II 97,22% (very good) b)implementation in the aspects of teacher cycle I 78,12% (enough) and cycle II 93,75% (very good) c) implementation in the aspects of student cycle I 78,12% (enough) and cycle II 93,75% (very good) d) aseesment of the result of student alignment with the average in cycle I 70 and cycle II with an average of 95. Based on these results it can be concluded that the problem based learning (PBL) model can improve integrated thematic learning outcomes in students.
