Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan letak dan jenis kesulitan belajar matematika mahasiswa pendidikan matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian campuran dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika di Universitas Jambi yang mengalami kesulitan belajar matematika pada mata kuliah Kapita Selekta Matematika Sekolah Menengah II. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes diagnostik dan pedoman wawancara. Letak kesulitan belajar matematika dilihat berdasarkan kesalahan/kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan tes diagnostik. Mahasiswa yang dikategorikan mengalami kesulitan diwawan-carai untuk memperoleh konfirmasi mengenai jenis kesulitan belajar matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan belajar matematikan mahasiswa terletak pada pengetahuan faktual 12,2%, pengetahuan konseptual 19,7%, pengetahuan prosedural 20,7%, dan pengetahuan metakognitif 47,4%.  Jenis kesulitan belajar matematika yang dialami peserta didik adalah kesulitan mengingat fakta 1,9%, kesulitan mengingat konsep 13,1%, kesulitan memahami fakta 8%, kesulitan memahami konsep 5,2%, kesulitan menerapkan konsep 0,9%, kesulitan menerapkan prosedur 0,9%, kesulitan menganalisis prosedur 7%, kesulitan mengevaluasi konsep 0,5%, kesulitan mengevaluasi prosedur 8,9%, kesulitan mengomunikasikan metakognitif 47,4%, kesulitan meneliti fakta 2,3%, dan kesulitan meneliti prosedur 3,8%. Kata Kunci: analisis kesulitan belajar, kapita selekta matematika sekolah menengah   AN ANALYSIS ON LEARNING DIFFICULTIES OF STUDENTS ON CAPITA SELECTA MATHEMATICS SUBJECT OF SECONDARY SCHOOL Abstract This research aims to describe the mathematics learning difficulty locations and the mathematics learning difficulties types faced by mathematics education students. This research is a mix method research study which used a quantitative and a qualitative approach. This research’s subjects were students of mathematics education in Jambi University who had learning difficulties on Capita Selecta of Secondary School II subject. The instruments used here were in diagnostic test and interview guide. The locations of learning difficulties viewed based on students’ mistakes/difficulties in completing the diagnostic test. These students categorized as students who were experiencing learning difficulties were interviewed to obtain confirmation regarding the mathematics learning difficulties types. The research result suggests that mathematics learning difficulty locations faced by the research subjects are factual knowledge 12.2%, conceptual knowledge 19.7%, procedural knowledge 20.7%, and metacognitive difficulties 47.4%. The mathematics learning difficulties types faced by the research subjects are fact remembering difficulty 1.9%, concept remembering difficulty 13.1%, fact understanding difficulty 8%, concept understanding difficulty 5.2%, concept applying difficulty 0.9%, procedure applying difficulty 0.9%, procedure analyzing difficulty 7%, concept  evaluating difficulty 0.5%, procedure evaluating difficulty 8.9%, written metakognitive communicating difficulty 47.4%, fact observing difficulty 2.3%, and procedure observing difficulty 3.8%. Penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat dan letak kesulitan belajar matematika siswa pada aspek kognitif dan kategorisasi masalah belajar matematika siswa pada aspek afektif dalam menghadapi Ujian Nasional tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 SMA di Kota Baubau. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian dengan metode survei. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran (tes diagnostik), kuisioner, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesulitan belajar matematika yang dialami oleh siswa untuk menyelesaikan soal-soal Ujian Nasional berada pada kategori sedang; letak kesulitan belajar matematika siswa pada aspek kognitif dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal Ujian Nasional dilihat dari segi pengetahuan faktual dengan persentase interval kesulitan sebesar, segi pengetahuan konseptual dengan persentase interval kesulitan sebesar, dan segi pengetahuan prosedural dengan persentase interval kesulitan sebesar; dan kategorisasi masalah belajar matematika siswa pada kategori aspek afektif dalam menghadapi Ujian Nasional tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 SMA di Kota Baubau secara umum berada pada kategori rendah. Kata kunci: kesulitan belajar matematika, kognitif, afektif, ujian nasional SMA   AN ANALYSIS OF DIFFICULTY ON COGNITIVE AND PROBLEM ON AFFECTIVE OF SMA STUDENTS IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING FACING NATIONAL EXAMINATION Abstract This study aims to describe the degree of student’s learning difficulty of mathematics on cognitive and categorization of student’s learning problem on affective aspect in accomplishing mathematic items in facing national final exam of SMA Baubau municipality in 2013/2014 academic year. The research type uses survey method. The technique of data collecting made use of diagnostic test that is National final exam items in 2012/2013 academic year which was modified by the researcher, questionnaires, and interviews. The research result indicates that the degree of students’ learning difficulty of mathematics to accomplish national final exam items is in the medium category; the students’ learning difficulty of mathematics on cognitive aspect in accomplish national final exam items viewed from factual knowledge  with students’ difficulty  interval percentage , conceptual knowledge aspect with students’ difficulty interval percentage , and procedural knowledge aspect with students’ difficulty interval percentage ; and the categorization of students’ learning problem of mathematics on affective aspect in facing National final exam in 2013/2014 academic year of SMA Baubau municipality generally is in the low category. This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students' mathematics. Low learning outcomes are characteristics of students experiencing obstacles or obstacles during the learning process. This study aims to describe and analyze the factors that cause students' learning difficulties in mathematics. The sample of this study amounted to 32 students of class XI IPS 4 SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Limau. The type of research used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The instrument used is a learning difficulty questionnaire, interview sheets and documentation to strengthen the results of the questionnaire answers. The data analysis technique of this research is the analysis of questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study indicate that: 1) internal factors that affect learning difficulties are described as follows, in the indicator of readiness in learning as much as 71.8% in the category of very influential on the learning process, on motivation indicators as much as 29% in the category of being quite influential in the learning process , on the indicator of interest as much as 53% with the category influential in the mathematics learning process and the health indicator as much as 50.6% with the category having an effect on learning mathematics. 2) external factors that affect learning difficulties in mathematics are as follows, indicators of family factors in learning as much as 37.5% with a category that is quite influential on the mathematics learning process, on school indicators as much as 51.5% with categories that affect the online learning process and on environmental indicators community as much as 39.6% with the category quite influential on the student learning process.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi menggunakan model CIPPO (context, input, process, product, and outcomes) yang bertujuan mengungkapkan tingkat employability lulusan SMK 4 tahun dengan menggunakan SMK 3 tahun sebagai base line. Sampel penelitian adalah delapan SMK 4 tahun dan delapan SMK 3 tahun dengan melibatkan 544 orang sebagai subyek penelitian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, kuesioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Kurikulum SMK 4 tahun dan 3 tahun menggunakan kurikulum nasional yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan Dunia Usaha Dunia Industri (DU/DI); (2) Kompetensi lulusan SMK 4 tahun seluruhnya berkategori sangat baik, sedangkan SMK 3 tahun 64% sangat baik; (3) menurut DU/DI, lulusan SMK 4 tahun unggul dalam kedisiplin, keuletan, kemampuan teori, kemampuan praktek, rasa percaya diri, ketelitian, kreativitas, dan kepemimpinan; (4) Kompetensi guru SMK 4 tahun unggul dalam membimbing siswa, menghasilkan bahan ajar, mengembangkan bengkel, dan membangun kerja sama dengan DU/DI; (5) sarana dan prasarana SMK 3 dan 4 tahun memiliki kemiripan kondisi; (6) pembiayaan SMK 4 tahun melibatkan alumni sedangkan SMK 3 tahun tidak; (7) Kecepatan mendapat pekerjaan, jumlah lulusan yang bekerja, dan penghasilan lulusan SMK 4 tahun lebih baik dari pada SMK 3 tahun; dan (8) Kepuasan kerja lulusan SMK 4 tahun lebih baik daripada lulusan SMK 3 tahun. EVALUATION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF 4-YEAR PROGRAM POLICY OF VOCATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL IN IMPROVING GRADUATES’ EMPLOYABILITYAbstractThe aim of this research is to disclose the employability level of 4-year Vocational Secondary School (or Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK)) graduates by using 3-year SMK as the base-line. This research is an evaluation research using CIPPO (context, input, process, product, and outcomes) model. The sample of the research is eight 4-year SMK and eight 3-year SMK, and it involves 544 persons as the research subjects. The data were collected by observation, questionnaire, interview and documentation, and analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive statistic analysis. The research result shows that: (1) 4-year and 3-year SMKs are using national curriculum developed based on the needs of Bussiness & Insdustrial Performer (DU/DI), (2) the competency of all (100%) the 4-year SMK graduates are ‘very good’, while only 64% 3-year SMK graduates is ‘very good’, (3) based on DU/DI’s stand point, the 4-year SMK graduates is better in 8 aspects (discipline, tenacuty, theoretical knowledge, practical skill, self-independence, carefullness,  creativity and leadership), (4) 4-year SMK teacher is better in guiding the students, producing learning material, developing workshop, and cooperating with DU/DI, (5) 4-year SMK has similiar condition of facilities with 3-year SMK, (6) 4-year SMK funding system is better than the 3-year SMK by involving the alumni, (7) 4-year SMK graduate is better in number of working graduates, income, and speed to get jobs, (8) 4-year SMK graduate are more satisfied with their job than the 3-year graduate.

The purpose of this study was to know the learning difficulties experienced by third grade students of Mathematics Education Study Program during Project Based Learning (PjBL) implementation on Evaluation of Mathematics’ Learning Process and Result. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach because it is relevant from the initial process to the final product, and research instrument used is in the form of interview sheet. The sample of this research is 68 third grade students of Mathematics Education Study Program of Faculty of Teaching and Educational Sciences, University of Swadaya Gunung Jati Cirebon. The study was conducted in the period of March - July 2016. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that students' learning difficulties during the implementation of Project Based Learning caused by internal factors, that is lack of motivation, which can be seen from the lack of students in reading and looking for various references related to the material, they rely on one reference book only that used during lectures. This resulted to the lack of understanding in learning the Evaluation Instruments’ Quality which can be seen from the difficulty in classifying evaluation test questions based on Bloom's Taxonomy and arranging scoring guidelines, using validity formula, reliability, item discrimination, and index of difficulty to determine instrument quality, and difficulty in accomplishing the final product.

AbstrakPenelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  meningkatkan  aktivitas  dan  hasil  belajar  siswa  dalam  pembelajaran Matematika dengan menerapkan pendekatan Realistics Mathematics Education. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 16 Kota Bengkulu semester genap  tahun  ajaran  2019/2020.  Pengumpulan  data  dilakukan  dengan  menggunakan  lembar observasi aktivitas self checklist dan tes hasil belajar siswa. Peningkatan aktivitas belajar  dapat  dilihat  dari rata-rata skor    pada  lembar  observasi  self checklist aktivitas belajar siswa siklus I sampai siklus III secara berturut-turut: 20,5 (kreteria cukup); 25 (kreteria baik); 30,5 (kreteria baik). Hasil belajar siswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan cara mengingatkan pada materi melalui masalah kontekstual, mengkaitkan manfaat belajar materi melalui masalah kontekstual, memberikan soal latihan, memberikan bimbingan kepada siswa yang mengalami kesulitan. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata tes hasil belajar dan latihan siswa siklus I sampai siklus III yaitu 59,24; 70,41; 80,76 dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal dari siklus I sampai siklus III yaitu 36%; 56%; 80%.Kata kunci: Aktivitas Belajar, Hasil Belajar, Pendekatan Realistics Mathematics Education (RME). AbstractThis study aims to improve the activities and student learning outcomes in Mathematics learning by applying the Realistics Mathematics Education approach. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The research subjects were class VIII G SMP Negeri 16 Kota Bengkulu even semester academic year 2019/2020 Data collection was carried out using observation sheets for self checklist activities and student learning outcomes tests. Increased learning activities can be seen from the average score on the observation sheet of the self checklist of learning activities of students in cycle I to cycle III in a row: 20.5 (sufficient criteria); 25 (good criteria); 30.5 (good criteria).  Student  learning  outcomes  can  be  improved  by  reminding  the  material  through  contextual problems,  linking  the  benefits  of  learning  material  through  contextual  problems,  providing  practice questions, providing guidance to students who are experiencing difficulties. Improvement of student learning outcomes can be seen from the average test scores of learning and training results of students cycle I to cycle III, namely 59.24; 70,41; 80,76 with the percentage of classical learning completeness from cycle I to cycle III which is 36%; 56%; 80%.Keywords: Learning Activity, Learning outcomes,  Realistics Mathematics Education (RME).

Learning difficulties are conditions where one student experiences difficulties in learning in the field of study, the factors that cause, and the nature of learning difficulties at SD Negeri Agom. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The research subjects included students of SD Negeri Agom. Data collection techniques used are interview, observation, and documentation methods. The research instruments used were interview guidelines and observation guidelines. The results showed that 1) the level of learning difficulty of SD Negeri Agom students was in the medium category, 2) the field of study that was difficult for students to study was mathematics, 3) the factors causing learning difficulties, 4) while the nature of the learning difficulties was temporary. By knowing the types of learning difficulties, teachers can choose the right, effective and efficient types of interventions to provide in helping students overcome learning difficulties.

<p class="BodyAbstract">In the teaching and learning process, teacher is not only required to have knowledge to be given to his students. But teachers are required to have the ability to manage the class well. This research aimed to explain students’ activity and the class management to overcome students’ learning difficulty on Mathematics learning. This research used qualitative approach. The subject of research was the mathematic teachers and grade 8 students at SMP PAB 2 Helvetia. The data was collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The research result showed that mostly teachers managed the class well, physically and non-physically. It was seen by the following percentage: (1) physic management for 50% and  non-physic management for 52.94% (Teacher of G-1), (2) physic management for 33.33% and non-physic management for 35.30% (Teacher of G-2).As for students’ activity at grade 8-1by the following percentage: (1) Visual activities 66.22%; (2) Oral activities 52.70%; (3) Listening activities 73.65%; (4) Writing activities 73.65%; (5) Drawing activities 0%; (6) Motor activities 0%; (7) Mental activities 52.70%; (8) Emotional activities 54.05%. Students’ activity at grade 8-5 by the following percentage: (1) Visual activities 42.50%; (2) Oral activities 30.63%; (3) Listening activities 41.25%; (4) Writing activities 46.88%; (5) Drawing activities 0%; (6) Motor activities 0%; (7) Mental activities 33.75%; (8) Emotional activities 28.75%.</p>

Mathematics is a lesson that is always a reference to intelligence and completeness of the process of student education anytime and anywhere. The research aims to analyze the difficulties in the seventh grade students of  SMP 4 Wewewa Timur in understanding the concept of mathematical material, namely set. This research is included in the type of descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were six students. Instruments in the process of collecting data are interview guidelines and question test sheets. This study uses data collection techniques including test methods, interview methods, and documentation. The results of the research process found that the difficulty of class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Timur in solving questions in the set material as follows: 1) difficulty using the concept; 2) difficulties in carrying out basic mathematical operations and addition and subtraction operations; 3) difficulty understanding the problem of the story and determining the things needed to solve the problem. Student difficulties are caused by several factors, namely 1) internal factors, causes of difficulties that originate from within the student itself; and 2) external factors, student difficulties caused and originating from outside the student. Based on the results of the interview test the factors that influence students and become the cause of student learning difficulties are: 1) low capacity or intelligence of students; 2) not confident, 3)mathematics learning disabilities; 4) learning disability and 5) the influence of the environment around students.

The low learning outcomes about mathematics are the background of research problems. The purpose of this study was to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of multiplication material through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model for grade III students in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. This research method is Classroom Action Research which follows the model of Kemmis and Taggart.  This research includes 3 cycles where each cycle includes 4 stages, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research time was from January to March 2020 with 30 students as research subjects, while the data were collected through tests, interviews and observations. The research results show that there is a significant increase in mathematics learning outcomes in class III. This is evidenced by the increase in the average result of the math test in each cycle, namely in cycle 1: 64.26 then cycle 2: 70.86 and cycle 3: 78.2. The results of researcher's observations in each cycle also increased, namely in cycle 1 = 2.44; cycle 2 = 2.88; cycle 3 = 3.89. Likewise, the results of student observations also increased, namely in cycle 1 = 2.4; cycle 2 = 3,2; cycle 3 = 4. And the results of the interviews conducted concluded that learning mathematics through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model was fun for students. This study concluded that learning mathematics using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model can improve student mathematics learning outcomes on multiplication material.

This study aims to produce learning tools using Realistic Mathematics Education approach to relations and functions material. This type of research used the Plomp development model, which consists of three phases, namely the initial investigation phase, the development or prototyping phase, and the assessment phase. The research subjects were grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Takengon. The instruments of research are expert validation sheets, practicality assessment sheets, and effectiveness assessment sheets. The resulting tools include lesson plan, student books, teacher books, and student worksheets. The average assessment of the four aspects of the lesson plan was 3.89 with valid criteria. The average assessment of the three aspects of the teacher's book was 3.98 with valid criteria. The average assessment of three aspects of the student book was 3.97 with valid criteria. The average assessment of two aspects on the student worksheets was 3.75 with valid criteria. Learning implementation 96.86% and carried out well. The teacher's response showed that, on average, 82% of the lesson plan assessment aspects are responded positively by the teacher. The response of student books was obtained by 83.2% of students who gave positive responses to student books and 82.6% of students who gave positive responses to student worksheets. The students’ learning outcomes obtained a classical average value of 74.2. The results of validation and testing of learning tools show that the tools meet the criteria of learning tools developed, referring to valid, practical, and effective.
