Since the emergence of this pandemic, many companies and corporations have finally granted employment termination, this has also been done by companies to support government policies in the form of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to reduce the spread of the virus. Another problem of concern is that poverty and unemployment could increase quite drastically. Because companies and corporations alone are not only one or two in Indonesia. From the above background, the purpose of this study is to find out the impact of COVID-19 on the country's economy, as well as to find out programs for community empowerment as a solution to overcoming poverty and unemployment that occur after the pandemic. The method that researchers used in writing this article was a qualitative approach, supported by the thick description method. In addition, with literature study which will be used as a supporting method to find valid data. The results of the study found that the government is less empowering the informal sector and also these Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Through CSR programs from existing companies, it is hoped that the community can be empowered as well as the informal sector and MSMEs. When corporations or companies carry out empowerment activities for the informal sector and also MSMEs, it is possible that the problems of poverty and unemployment that have occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic can be reduced and overcome.

Abstract : ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has the aims to transform ASEAN into a stable, prosperous, and highly competitive region through equitable economic development, poverty reduction and socio-economic disparities. As a consequence, since 2015, ASEAN becomes region with free trade of goods, services, investment, and skilled labor. The impact of the implementation of MEA is shown by the price and quality of goods and services that become competitive, affecting domestic products and services from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), as well as farmers. The government has sought to support SMEs and farmers through direct and indirect assistance. Land is the sector that has the most influential effect among other sectors to provoke economic growth of SMEs and farmers, because land has the function as natural resource as well as work location. To optimize this, land policies are needed to regulate land use arrangement, land asset legalization, control of land utilization and community empowerment through access reform. Asset legalization for SMEs and farmers, as well as asset legalization for infrastructures. Land use and land utilization control was implemented to optimize large-scale agricultural area by set up cooperation scheme with local people. Community empowerment was implemented through access reform, prioritized to the regions that have leading commodities or products. Keywords : competition, land use arrangement, assets legalization, land utilization, community empowermentIntisari : Pembentukan Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA) bertujuan untuk mentransformasikan ASEAN menjadi kawasan yang stabil, makmur, dan sangat kompetitif melalui ekonomi pembangunan yang adil, berkurangnya kemiskinan dan kesenjangan sosial-ekonomi.

PurposeThis paper aims to document the impact of inadequately educated workforce on the extent of financing obstacles experienced by firms.Design/methodology/approachThe authors use the data provided by the World Bank's Enterprise Surveys to test our arguments. The data were collected during the period between 2008 and 2018 in 141 developing countries. A pooled ordered logit regression analysis is performed to arrive at the results.FindingsThe study’s results show that firms with inadequately educated workforce are more likely to experience financing obstacles than other firms. The authors argue that poor performance and lack of technical expertise required to access finance are some of the reasons behind greater financing obstacles experienced by these firms. The study’s results are robust across different geographic regions. The authors also show that firms with inadequately educated workforce are more likely to seek informal credit for financing their short-term (working capital) and long-term (capital expenditures) capital requirements.Practical implicationsUnderstanding the factors that affect the financing constraints faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) should be valuable to managers of SMEs and policy-makers. By removing these constraints, managers can improve their access to financing, and policy-makers can facilitate higher economic growth and better economic conditions.Originality/valuePrior studies have largely been silent on the impact of inadequately educated workforce on the access to finance. This paper draws attention to this issue within the context of SMEs in an international setting. SMEs are the drivers of economic growth in any country. However, their contributions to economic growth cannot materialize without fulfilling their capital needs.

Lampung City is a city that has abundant pineapple yields. However, most fruits that did not meet the standards, such as fruit that fell from the tree or known as pineapple rejected. Fruits that do not meet the sales standard have a very low economic value and are only thrown into waste. This study aims to increase the economic value of this pineapple with the intention of becoming a substrate of nata de pina. Pineapple has a fairly high content and is approved as a substrate for making nata. The research method used is qualitative, namely by explaining the steps of making pineapple as a nata de pina substrate. The Innovation of Small and Medium Enterprises in Lampung City in making processed pineapple products has made a major contribution to the people of Lampung City, especially pineapple farmers. Farmers who used to only sell raw pineapple at affordable prices are now increasing their income because they sell high-priced processed products. The people also enjoy the impact of the presence of nata de pina, because nata de pina is often added to desserts to add sweetness.
