The research aims to diagnose the most important demographic variables for the teaching staff that contribute significantly to the adoption of self-evaluation standards for educational institutions in the Iraqi ministry of education. The intellectual and field principles of the current research were based on a new philosophical perspective that simulates the contents of the personal characteristics of the teaching staff and embodies the possibility of adopting them in improving the quality of the educational process. The research was conducted in a number of public schools in the city of Kirkuk / Iraq by depending on   the opinions survey of a sample of teachers and administrators in the schools surveyed in the city of Kirkuk. Regarding the research population and sample the research population consists of teaching staff in primary schools in the city of Kirkuk, and then selecting a random sample of 100 respondents from the teaching staff in primary schools affiliated to the Kirkuk education directorate.   A hypothetical scheme was formulated that reflects the consensual relationships between the study dimensions, namely demographic variables as an independent variable (explanatory) and self-evaluation criteria as a followed variable (dependent) thus resulting the main hypothesis which is the null hypothesis that; demographic factors do not affect the adoption of self-evaluation criteria in the researched organizations. It was tested using a number of statistical methods by using the SPSS program, such as a t-test which was conducted, as well as one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), with the aim of explaining the extracted factors as expressing the reality and nature of the relationship between the research variables. The research has concluded that there is no significant effect for sex, educational qualification, experience, academic achievement, and training courses on cognitive performance; skills, values, and trends except for age groups that have impacts on performance dimensions. Based on this, some proposals were indicated, the most important of which are: The school administrations (the research sample) should reconsider the reasons that lead to not benefiting from years of experience and training courses in the areas of improving performance, and then put in place mechanisms that ensure that the gained experience and the courses are more influential in performance.

The use of new information technologies has the advantage of supporting all those in charge of any organization in their decisions, and allowing them visibility as quickly as it is relevant to all the important indicators of their system. Human resources managers are using more and more IT tools to better follow the continuing education open for the teaching staff. The number of these training courses and the high number of participating teachers can pose many monitoring and traceability problems. Hence the idea of proposing a model based on e-learning solutions to help adapt the teaching to the learner, and to ensure traceability when switching from one training to another.

Historically speaking, the teaching of English was never a part of Brazilian primary schools programmes. Foreign language teaching as an obligatory school subject appears only in the sixth year of basic education, and its goal is more connected to the development of critical citizens, rather than to the promotion of proficient speakers of the language. Recently, however, a number of municipal public educational systems, often in partnership with private language institutes, have introduced ELT from the very first year of primary school. This is the case, for example, of the project Rio Global Child 2016, created by the City of Rio de Janeiro in partnership with Cultura Inglesa, a well-known private English institute in Brazil. What I intend to do in this paper, thus, is: firstly, to present an historical overview of ELT in Brazilian public schools, discussing its educational relevance and functions, the challenges faced by teachers and students, and both the beliefs and debates concerning the issue (cf. Almeida, 2012; Assis-Peterson, 2003; Moita Lopes, 1996; Tílio, 2012) – including also a first account of the Brazilian cities involved in the implementation of ELT in primary schools; and, then, to discuss critically Rio de Janeiro’s project for the teaching of English in primary schools. Such a discussion is necessary not only because it may help to understand better the risks of adopting a single method (and its materials) for teaching in contexts that can be extremely different from one another, but also because other projects and experiences may benefit from an honest account of the problems faced by the association of private and public spheres and interests exemplified by Rio’s project.

Education is one of the main factors that provide social development and change in the desired direction. With this awareness, many parents take various courses that they think will benefit to their children. National and international reports show that Turkish students' mathematics achievement is very low. Our century requires understanding mathematics and being able to use it in daily life and business life. The aim of this study is to evaluate the 8th grade mathematics course applied in support and training courses (STC) in line with the opinions of students and parents. The research was designed in the multiple-case design of qualitative research. The study group of the research consists of 19 eighth grade students from 3 different public schools and 12 eighth grade student parents in the 2018-2019 academic year. Semi-structured interview method, one of the interview methods, was used in the study. The data were analyzed by creating themes, categories and codes using content analysis method. When the findings obtained as a result of the study were examined, it was found that 8th grade students found the mathematics lesson hours of the STC too many and the teachers gave excessive homework. Students stated that this situation caused them fatigue and low performance. In addition, it was stated that teachers generally used the method of direct instruction, question banks and acquisition tests as materials. According to the students, the fact that the lessons are not fun and not supported by sports activities decreases their participation in the courses. According to parents, teachers cannot seriously follow student development in courses and cannot provide class discipline. Parents stated that if this situation persists, they would stop taking additional lessons for their children. Keywords: Course, mathematics, teaching mathematics, supporting and training courses

The use of computer technology in schools has become a topical subject of enquiry among researchers globally. As in other countries, the government of Botswana has come up with policy on the use of computer technology in public schools in its effort to improve teaching and learning. For this initiative to be achieved, higher education institutions in the country are expected to provide knowledge and skills to school management teams and members of their teaching staff on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). This descriptive and qualitative study sought to find out whether primary school heads are using the computer knowledge and skills they acquired during in-service training at the University of Botswana in their schools. Using purposive sampling, 22 participants out of 26 who had volunteered to participate in the study responded to the questionnaire about the use of computers by school heads in primary schools. The result of the study shows that while school heads are willing to use computers in their schools, they have encountered some challenges, many of which are external and therefore, beyond their control. Further revealed is that there are a few school heads that do not see the use of computers as a priority, in spite of the knowledge and skills they possess. The study recommends further research to find out from regional officers the intervention measures that may be put in place to enable school heads to effectively use computer technology in primary schools.

Background: During puerperium, a woman undergoes several changes caused by pregnancy and childbirth. At this stage, complications can occur, which, when not identified or taken care of properly, tend to result in morbidity and mortality from preventable causes. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nursing care provided to women during the puerperium period. Methods: The research is a descriptive exploratory study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in the Family Health Units (FHU) in the municipality of Patos, PB. The population included all the nurses of the FHU. Out of 38 nurses from the FHU, 27 nurses participated. Data were analysed in SPSS (version 21). Results: The study revealed that the sample consisted mostly of females (92.6%), aged between 32 and 34 years (44.4%), unmarried, between 10 and 15 years of training (37.0%), all with post-graduate degrees. All the professionals interviewed performed a puerperal consultation and reported that the most common complaints were related to difficulty with breastfeeding (92.6%). Most of the participants participated in training courses offered by management (66.7%), but the majority did not participate in scientific events in the area of women's health after graduation. Conclusion: Thus, it is necessary to consider how actions are carried out in the women's health care programme concerning puerperium in the city under study. These programmes should consider the health needs of this group and training to fully develop the competencies of qualified professionals.

The study addresses an element of the support for inclusive education that can be spotted in the sphere of possible relations between mainstream and special school. This mostly aims at presenting some good practices in collaboration between these schools, identified in the author’s own research. An additional aim is to confront the collected information with the concepts and assumptions/proposals formulated in this area in the literature on the subject. The research was conducted within the project: Badanie praktyki ogólnodostępnych szkół podstawowych w zakresie edukacji włączającej [Studying the practices of mainstream primary schools in the field of inclusive education], financed by the Ministry of National Education and commissioned to the University of Silesia in Katowice in 2020. The data were collected with the use of focus group interview technique. The study group consisted of mainstream school head-teachers, teachers, specialists, non-teaching staff, students of public schools and their parents. The study comprised over two hundred respondents from forty schools. The research results reveal a limited scope of good practices in collaboration of both types of school. The greatest number of examples occurs in the area of common organization of ludic and educational events. Much fewer cases of collaboration can be spotted in the field of methodological support and of creating self-education groups in counties or municipalities. The first part of the study is a presentation of the own research concept. The second part comprises some identified practices in collaboration between special and mainstream school, which have been confronted with a few suggestions for partnership of both these types of school presented in the literature on the subject. The whole article is completed with final conclusions.
