The objectives of this research are: (1) analyzing and classifying economic sectors into basic and non basic sector among districts in Central Sulawesi Province; (2) understanding characteristics of economic growth among its districts; (3) understanding the role of national and regional share among its districts. The analyses used are Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient, Klassen typology, and mix and share analysis. LQ analysis result show that basic sector in Central Sulawesi are agricultural sector, electricity and water supply sector, construction sector, communication and transportation sector, and services sector. LQ analysis, at sub-district level generating agricultural sector is the basic sector for Banggai Kepulauan, Banggai, Morowali, Poso, Donggala, Tolitoli, Buol, and Parimo districts. Services sector is the basic sector for Palu, Donggala, and Tojo Una Una districts. The DLQ analysis indicating that agriculturalsector still expected as basic sector .in the future for some districts in Central Sulawesi Province. The Klassen typolgy analysis show that Morowali district is categorized as developed and fast growing region; Banggai Kepulauan, Banggai, Tolitoli, and Buol districts are categorized as growing regions; Parimo and Palu districts are categorized as growing but under-pressured; while Poso, Donggala, and Tojo Una Una districts are categorized as less developed The mix and share analysis shows that the regional share of 10 districts are more prominent determinant factor than national share.

This research aimed to analyze trend of agricultural GDP and agricultural contribution in Indonesia, and identify the role of agricultural sector and sub sectors in provinces of Indonesia. Source of data this research use linear trend analysis to analyze trend agricultural Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and agricultural contribution. Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and combination LQ and DLQ is used to identify the role of agricultural sector and sub sectors. The analysis found that agricultural GDP in Indonesia has increasing trend while agricultural contribution has decreasing trend. Agricultural sector is basic sector in 29 provinces in Indonesia. Farm food crop is leading sub sector in 6 provinces, farm non food crops is leading sub sector in 14 provinces, livestock is leading sub sector in 3 provinces, forestry is leading sub sector in 1 provinces, fishery is leading sub sector in 5 provinces.

Economic growth of North Sumatera Province is not quite on the top of optimum. If the compared by some of others province in Indonesia and by  all of his potention, the North Sumatera Province only on the 10th rank of economic growth in Indonesia in 2009-2013 period. The purpose of this study is toanalyze the economic sectors which are the basis in each district/city in North Sumatera province and to determine the structure of economic growth in the district /city both sectoral and aggregate the province of North Sumatera. Structural transformation to some extent will have an impact on overall economic growth. Analysis tools used in this study is Location Quetiont (LQ), Growth Ratio Model (MRP), overlay analysis, and shift share analysis. Results of this study showed that the agriculture sector is a sector which is the basis in nearly 13 districts/cities in North Sumatera Province. But the growth in agriculture, processing industries, mining and quarrying, and the electricity, gas & water supply sector likely slowed, otherwise all tertiary sectors which include: trade, hotels, and restaurants; transportation and communication, finance, leasing, and services company, and the services sector is likely to experience growth positive. Transportation and communication is a sector with the highest growth occurring in North Sumatera Province. Shift Share Analysis results showed that in the Province of North Sumatera is going structural transformation characterized by decreasing the role of the agricultural sector, and the increasing role of the service sector. This condition as well as contrary to the Kuznets theory which states that the process of structural transformation contribution marked by shifting agriculture to manufacturing and then to services sector.

The purpose of this study is to analyze what economic sectors are potential to be used as development priorities and patterns of economic growth in the economy of Mojokerto Regency. The method used is: Location Quotient, Shift Share, and Williamson Index. From the analysis of the location quotient that falls into the category of the base sector are Agriculture, Clean Water & Water Sector, Building Sector, Transportation & Communication Sector, Financial Sector, Corporate Leasing & Services, and Services Sector. And the results of the shift share analysis show that the sectors with the fastest growth are the agricultural sector, mining & quarrying sector, manufacturing industry sector, and the trade sector, and the services sector. While the results from Williamson study show that the sub-districts that have the highest level of inequality are in Mojosari sub-district, Pungging subdistrict, and Kemlagi sub-district

Abstract Development must be viewed as a multidimensional process that includes a variety of fundamental changes to social structure, attitudes of the community, and national institutions, while continuing to pursue accelerated economic growth, handling income inequality, and alleviating poverty.The expected research objective is to analyze the leading sectors and employment in Gorontalo Regency so that the benefits of this study are expected: 1) as a reference in policy making related to the leading sector development strategy and Manpower Absorption in Gorontalo District, 2) can provide an overview of various potential existing sectors as an option to become workers so that they can provide their income every year in Gorontalo Regency, 3) can provide information and become an opportunity for investment investment which is the biggest part of available labor shelter in Gorontalo District.The Analysis Method used in this study is Location Quotient (LQ) to determine the role of the sector in the reference area (Gorontalo Province). And the results of the study indicate that the results of several economic sectors in Gorontalo Regency have economic (base) advantages: Sector mining and quarrying, Processing Industry Sector, Electricity and Gas Procurement Sector, Construction Sector, Information and Communication Sector, Financial Sector and Sector which have high employment absorption are Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, Processing Industry Sector. Abstrak Pembangunan harus dipandang sebagai suatu proses multidimensional yang mencakup berbagai perubahan mendasar atas struktur sosial, sikap-sikap masyarakat, dan institusi-institusi nasional, di samping tetap mengejar akselerasi pertumbuhan ekonomi, penanganan ketimpangan pendapatan, serta pengentasan kemisikinan.Adapun tujuan penelitian yang diharapkan adalah untuk menganalisis sektor unggulan dan penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kabupaten Gorontalo sehingga manfaat penelitian ini diharapkan : 1) sebagai acuan dalam pengambilan kebijakan terkait dengan strategi pengembangan sektor unggulan dan Penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kabupaten Gorontalo, 2) dapat memberikan gambaran dari berbagai potensi sektor unggulan yang ada sebagai pilihan untuk menjadi tenaga kerja sehingga dapat memberikan pendapatan mereka pada setiap tahunnya di Kabupaten Gorontalo, 3) dapat memberikan informasi dan menjadi peluang bagi penanaman isvestasi yang menjadi bagian yang terbesar bagi penampungan tenaga kerja yang tersedia di Kabupaten Gorontalo.Metode Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Location Quotient (LQ) untuk menentukan besarnya peranan sektor tersebut pada wilayah referensi (Provinsi Gorontalo).Dan hasil Penelitian menujukkan bahwa telah diperoleh hasil beberapa sektor ekonomi di Kabupaten Gorontalo mempunyai keunggulan ekonomi (basis) adalah :Sektor pertambangan dan penggalian, Sektor Industri Pengolahan, Sektor Pengadaan listrik dan gas, Sektor konstruksi, Sektor Informasi dan komunikasi, Sektor Keuangan dan Sektor yang memiliki kontribusi penyerapan tenaga kerja yang tinggi adalah Sektor Perikanan, Kehutanan dan pertanian, Sektor Sektor Industri Pengolahan.

Leading Sector and Transformation of Economic in Badung Regency The development of tourism in Badung regency is rapidly causing inequality of regional development between north and south and the imbalance of development between economic sectors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the basic sectors and economic structure in Badung Regency. This study uses secondary data in the form of data of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), growth rate, and data of working population. Data collection methods used were documentation studies and analyzed using location quotient, dynamic location quotient, total shift share, and shift share. The results of analysis showed that the basis sectors in economic structure of Badung Regency is water supply, waste, and recycling sector, construction sector, transportation and warehousing sector, accommodation and feeding supply sector, and information and communications. The agricultural sub-sector has three sub-sub-sectors that are able to become the basis sub-subsector in the future are food crop sub-sub-sectors, horticultural crops sub-subsector, and fishery sub-sector. Two factors causing the change of agriculture, forestry and fishery sub-sector positions in the economic structure of Badung Regency, namely economic structure and location factor. The economic structure of Badung Regency is transformed from agriculture to services, especially tourism services, followed by shifts in labor absorption.

Economic growth had resulted in a shift on economic structure. Structural transformation was a process of economic structure shift from primary to secondary sector, as the case happened in Bekasi District. Structural or economic transformation from traditional to modern in general could be regarded as a shift related to the change of composition and sectoral contribution to the GDP of a region. This structural process could be achieved by paying attention to the sectors that have specialization, competitive and comparative advantages that would become a priority in the economy. The purpose of this research was to analyze the structure and the changing of economic sectors, to identify any potential sectors in each development region of Bekasi District. The research was conducted in Bekasi District, West Java Province. This study used qualitative design with a case study technique. The data gathered was then analyzed using the Location Quotient, Classical Shift Share and Esteban Marquillas Shift Share. The research results showed that in the period of 2004-2010, while the economic structure shift had not yet seen in the development region I, it had already happened in development regions II, III and IV. Based on the combined analysis it was found that the potential economic sectors which had a high competitiveness, had a competitive advantage, able to specialize, as well as having a comparative advantage in each development area of Bekasi District were as follows: for agriculture and transportation sector, the development region I, II and IV had the potential; mining sector was only potential in the region I; industrial sector was only potential in the region II; building development sector could only be found in the development region II and IV, for trade sector, the region IV proved to be potential; financial sector was only potential in development region II. Since early 2020, an outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has started to spread in Jordan challenging the sustainability of Jordan’s economic sectors and the agricultural sector. A study was conducted in Jordan to evaluate the role of Jordanian Agricultural Policies to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 on the agricultural sector while its full impact on the Jordanian agricultural sector is not yet evident. A scientific questionnaire was distributed to 100 samples of Jordanians who had direct contact with the effect of agricultural policies and they can touch the effect of Coronavirus and Agricultural Policies on the agricultural sector, data selected from farmers, farm labour, fruits and vegetable traders and merchants, and Jordanian citizens were selected randomly from different areas in Jordan. The study summarizes target group opinion and some evidence on the different COVID-19 impacts on the Jordanian agricultural sector. The virus limits the free flow of labour, the agricultural labour force had a slightly decreased in 2020 compared with the year 2019 to about 7%, the country lockdown led to damage of crops due to lack of harvest and/or crop accumulation, as a result, the Jordan Agricultural Contribution to GDP growth rate at current prices was decreased 1.4%, and the growth rate at constant prices was also decreased 1.6%, the exported agricultural commodities value were not affected by COVID-19 pandemic but the imported of Agricultural commodities value was increased. Jordanian government try to facilitate the process of agricultural production and the provision of food during the Corona pandemic through issue agricultural policies and measures to alleviate the effects of the Corona pandemic on the agricultural sector.

The agricultural sector has a multifunctional role in the development of an area. Bali Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia that uses rural areas as a gateway to the agricultural sector that supports the tourism sector. The contribution of the agricultural sector in 2017 amounted to 13.07 percent of the GRDP of the Province of Bali, number two of the 17 sectors (the sector of providing accommodation and food and drink occupy the first position, amounting to 22.82 percent. The purpose of this study was to map the growth typology of each sector in the Province of Bali, and evaluated the performance of the agricultural sector in the Province of Bali from 2013-2017. The location of the study was conducted in the Province of Bali, carried out deliberately (purposive) with the consideration that there has been a very alarming increase in the conversion of agricultural land functions in the Province of Bali. The typology used is Klassen, LQ (Location Quotient, and DLQ (Dynamic Location Quotient). The results of this study are the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors in quadrant II, namely the advanced but depressed sector, as a whole is a “prospective” agricultural sector, the sector it has a basic role during 2013-2017 but this sector does not have the potential to remain a base sector because the growth rate of the agricultural sector in Bali Province is slower than the national level.

This study aims to determine what sectors are the leading sectors and the role of superior sector to the economy within the last 5 years in Jayawijaya regency. This research is conducted for three months starting from June 2017 until August 2017 in Jayawijaya Regency. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Jayawijaya district. The data is in though using descriptive analysis research method. The research shows that the sectors that are the leading sectors in Jayawijaya Regency are agriculture, forestry, fishery, processing industry sector, electricity, gas and water supply sector, construction sector, trade, hotel and restaurant sector, transportation and communications sector, and the services sector. The sectors of services, transport and communications, and the agricultural sector are the most contributing sectors in the economy compared to other leading sectors.
