The typology used is Klassen, LQ (Location Quotient, and DLQ (Dynamic Location Quotient). The results of this study are the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors in quadrant II, namely the advanced but depressed sector, as a whole is a “prospective” agricultural sector, the sector it has a basic role during 2013-2017 but this sector does not have the potential to remain a base sector because the growth rate of the agricultural sector in Bali Province is slower than the national level.

The study was intended to analyze the position of the agricultural sector in the East Java Province of the covid-19 pandemic by determining the position of the agricultural sector at the time before the covid-19 pandemic and the covid-19 pandemic and identifying the factors that determined how the agriculture sector was performing. The collection of data on this study is secondary data obtained from the Statistical Center and the Indonesian Bank. The method of data analysis used is the Location Quotient analysis (LQ) and the Shift Share. This examination proposes that the situation of the agricultural sector at the time before the covid-19 pandemic was a non-base sector with an LQ value of 0,77. This occurs due to the conversion of agricultural land that is less in favor of the agricultural side even though East Java is one of the areas that has the largest agricultural production. At the time of the covid-19, the performance of the agricultural sector in East Java Province is a non-base sector with an LQ value of 0,79. This happened because of the Covid-19 pandemic which affected food security due to an unsupportive situation and prone to production problems. The rise in the value of LQ is expected to be better for agriculture sector performance. The factor that determines the performance of the agricultural sector is a factor of economic structure with a value of SSS greater than LSS.

The paper presents the issues related to the green economy in the agricultural sector. In order to discuss it, an analysis of the subject literature was carried out and some selected statistical data describing the process of greening of agriculture were presented. The timeframe of the analysis covered the years 2010-2015. The GUS and Eurostat were the source of the used values. Studies have shown that almost all EU countries have increased the area of organic agricultural land in the surveyed period (except for Great Britain). In addition, the article presents the results of pilot studies conducted in the Lodz Region, aimed at diagnosing key barriers to the development of the green economy in rural areas. According to the research, the insufficient level of knowledge of farmers in this area is an important obstacle to building a green economy in rural areas.

ABSTRACT Food crop commodities in Bali are quite potential, so making these commodities quite crucial in various discussions. When viewed from the results of the 2013 Agriculture Census in Bali there were 408,233 agricultural business households and 53 percent of them were food crop business households. Bali's GRDP according to business fields, food crops subsector contributed 14.57 percent of the 2016 GDP contribution to the agricultural sector. The development of tourism and population growth are thought to be the cause of the conversion of agricultural land to non-agriculture. Therefore, a scientific study is needed to map the potential of the food crop subsector in Bali. The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify what are the main competitive seed crops, (2) to analyze the growth of food crops according to districts / cities, (3) to analyze the potential of the main commodity areas of Bali's food crops. This research was conducted in Bali Province. The selection of research locations using the purposive sampling method is based on the consideration that food crops are the most sought-after commodities by Balinese farmers. The data used in this study is the data on commodity production of the Bali Province food crops sub-sector according to districts / cities in the 5-year time series (2011-2015). The analytical tool used is Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share, Superimpose and analysis of potential spatial areas. The results of the study show that all regencies / municipalities have comparative superior food crops except the city of Denpasar. Increased regional growth of food crops occurred in three districts / cities, namely Jembrana, Gianyar and Denpasar City. All districts / cities have food crops that experience proportional rapid growth, high competitiveness commodities and commodities that are progressing in net growth. All regencies have superior crops of food commodities, both those which are superior (comparative or competitive superior) and highly superior (comparative and competitive) commodities. Meanwhile, Denpasar City only has superior food crops (competitively superior).

The South African government provides access to agricultural land for people not adequately represented in the agricultural sector.  However, the government lacks sufficient funds and institutional infrastructure to provide post-settlement support to the settled developing farmers. A farmer-to-farmer mentorship programme between established and developing farm types has been identified as an institutional arrangement that could complement the government’s efforts. However, at this stage government and other role-players lack frameworks for this type of mentorship programme. This study conceptualises a complementary mentorship alliance that is loosely structured, without the complicated legal and contractual processes involved in corporate business alliances. This alliance will hopefully lead to highly committed joint ventures in the industry in the near future.  The study also provides frameworks within which the role-players could contribute to the success of mentorship programme.

<span>The time series data at all India level on area, production and productivity of foodgrains, production and per capita availability of milk and eggs and production of meat were compiled and a decade wise analysis of growth rate, instability index and decomposition analysis was done to study the performance of agriculture sector. During the overall period, the area under food grains showed negative growth whereas production and productivity growth was positive. For milk and egg, both production and per capita availability showed positive growth. Meat production showed a positively significant growth rate. Growth rate in area, production and productivity of both vegetables and fruits was positive. In general, for foodgrains, the yield effect was higher than the area effect which could be attributed to increased use of high yielding varieties. For vegetables and fruits, the contribution of area effect was more than that of yield and the interaction effect suggesting that measures should be taken to improve their productivity. </span>
