Objective: The aim of this work is to document the various ethnomedicinal healing plant species used in traditional bone setting (TBS) practice of Rabha community of Assam.Methods: This has been done using interview method which includes semi-structured questionnaire and the field walks method.Results: The results reveal that eight healing plants wear employed to in the TBS practice. Among these, Cissus quadrangularis L. is the most commonly used plant species to treat bone fracture. In this study, two modes of preparation for the ethnomedicine have been served (i.e., paste and extract) where paste form has higher used (75%).Conclusions: It has been concluded that Rabha Hasong area of Assam is indeed rich in ethnomedicinal plants. People get benefited from the traditional practices performed by the medicine men. This is the chief reason TBS practice that is still running smoothly with full faith and hope even in the current time where sophisticated orthopedic treatments are obtainable. Moreover, systematic nutraceutical appraisal of these species would provide a remarkable research possibility in the fields of ethnopharmacology that would be useful in the modern orthopedic treatments.

Ethnomedicinal plants have a significant role in the lives of people of rural and tribal areas. Thousands of medicinal plant species are used to treat various diseases, including jaundice, and are considered an important therapeutic resource to minimize these diseases. Jaundice (icterus) is a chronic disease that occurs when the amount of bilirubin in the blood increases. This review describes different ethnomedicinal plants used for curing jaundice by tribal and rural people of Himachal Pradesh. The study reveals 87 ethnomedicinal plant species belonging to 51 different families, which are used for treating jaundice in Himachal Pradesh. These plants are arranged in a systematic way, which includes a description of their common name, botanical name, along with its family, plant parts used, region, and mode of use in tabulated form. Some of the plant extracts have already been explored for their phytochemical and pharmacological significance and proved their potential in the preparation of new medicines or drugs against the treatment of jaundice. This review is an attempt to highlight the indigenous knowledge of medicinal plants, which are specifically used for the treatment of jaundice. The data mentioned in the present review is compiled from various sources like existing literature, books, Google Scholar, and Scopus publications. Among all the observed plant species, most used medicinal plants for the treatment of jaundice include Justicia adhatoda, Emblica officinalis, Ricinus communis, Saccharum officinarum, Terminalia chebula, Berberis aristata, Cuscuta reflexa, and Tinospora cordifolia. Plants that are mostly utilized for the treatment of jaundice need to be scientifically validated by pharmacological analysis and should be subsequently used for the preparation of new drugs, which may prove far more beneficial than the existing one.

The present paper deals with 112 ethnomedicinal plants used for the treatment of cold cough and fever by major tribal groups and many non-tribal communities of Odisha. These ethnomedicinal uses were compared and cross-checked with the data mentioned in well-known standard Indian ethnomedicinal as well as medicinal literatures and found that most of the medicinal uses of the referred 83 plants have been reported earlier also. 29 plants are being reported here for the first time for the treatment of these diseases. These plant species are arranged in alphabetical order followed by family in bracket, local name(s) along with ethnomedicinal uses and cross check report with well recognized standard Indian literature.

Entomophagy, the practice of eating insects, has a great deal of importance and history with many countries of the world however, its consumption species of insects and their value differ from community to community. Here, we aimed to study the ethnic traditional practices of entomophagy and its uses in traditional ethno-entomology practiced by the Mao-Naga tribe and the Poumai-Naga tribe from Senapati district of Manipur, Northeast India. We conducted individual semi-structured questionnaire surveys from different villages of both the tribes with ages varying from 22 to 70 years. The respondents comprise village elders, house makers and the youth. The study shows a total of 53 and 51 species of insects being consumed by the Mao-Naga and Poumai-Naga tribes respectively consisting of 9 orders and 18 families. The order Hymenoptera has the maximum number having 20 edible insect species from both the tribes. The order Diptera, Isoptera and Mantodea has the least edible insect of 1 species each from both the tribes. Besides entomophagy, some insect’s species were believed to have ethno-entomological uses.

Children are profoundly powerless against the negative wellbeing resulting in numerous ecological exposures. Children get proportionately more significant portions of natural toxicants than grown-ups, and the way that their organs and tissues are quickly creating makes them especially vulnerable to synthetic abuse. Asthma is a constant fiery infection of the aviation routes at present influencing over 300 million individuals around the world. The risk factors of asthma include genetic predisposition, irresistible respiratory contamination, allergens, environment, workouts, medications, additives, and occupational stimuli. The descriptive research design was used with 100 samples, which matched Non- probability convenience sampling techniques selected the inclusion criteria. Demographic variables were collected by interview method followed by assessed the risk factors of bronchial asthma in children (below ten years of age) by using a self-structured questionnaire. Out of 100 samples, 50(50%) risk factor of heredity, 71(71%) have problems in taking asthma medications, 44(44%) only use zipped pillow covers, 34(34%) do not use gas stoves in the kitchen, 10(10%) have moisture in the walls, 6(6%) have cases of asthma emergencies, 56(56%) find helpless in dealing with an asthma child.

In the context of depleting indigenous knowledge and their values in the Kisan Community, they seem unaware of their culturally rich traditional practices of using animals and plants for medicinal purpose. It has been essential to document those knowledge of practices for future references. The paper tried to explore and document those knowledge and practices by the Kisan community of Mechinagar 9 and 11 of Jhapa, Nepal. For this purpose, the data were collected through interviews with key informants including conjurer (Dhami/Jhakri), elders of the society and also focal group discussions with the local people. Analysis of the data has shown that 29 animal species belonging to 24 families are used to treat 29 ailments and 57 plant species belonging to 37 families are used for treating 39 different ailments. The commonly treated ailments were common cold, cuts, wounds, diarrhoea, dysentery, etc.

The study examined the factors that affected Labor-Management Relations in the context of employees’ satisfaction in Garments Industry of Bangladesh. The data for the study were collected from both primary and secondary sources. Primary sources relied on interview method with the help of a structured questionnaire for self-guidance. All hypotheses were tested using regression analysis and Pearson correlations controlling for background variables of gender, marital status, and age. The study revealed that all dimensions of labor-management relations were positively and significantly correlated to employee satisfaction and overall labor-management relations. Implications, limitations, and directions for further research were discussed.

The ethnobotanical study of plant species used for medicine by the Egun indigenous tribal group of Lagos State, Nigeria was undertaken with a view to assess the valuable plant species in the area and their methods of preparation. In the recent time, there have been a lot of ethnobotanical studies conducted among the varying ethnic compositions in Nigeria, but a gross dearth of such studies abounds among the Eegun ethnic composition. Several communities were selected, among which 10 respondents were randomly interviewed with the aid of a semi-structured questionnaire guide. Even more, in the LGA, a major market (Badagry market), was chosen where 5 botanical vendors were interviewed on the plant parts sold. A semi-structured questionnaire matrix was used to interview the respondents. All the interviewed were focused, conversational and two-way in communication. Group interviews were conducted in each community to established group consensus on the individual responses provided. The results revealed that a total of 44 plant species, belonging to 38 families, were observed to be valued for medicine and health maintenance. The respondents’ indigenous knowledge on these species revealed that diverse diseases were managed with the identified plant species. The parts of the plants used varied, as well as the methods of preparations which were simple, as well as the mode of utilization. Results obtained from the test on the abundance of the identified plant species used in the present study revealed that 7% of the identified species were very abundant, 41% were abundant, 41% were frequent, while 2% of them were rare. Adequate protection of medicinal plant resources through conservation in their natural reserves is recommended.

Traditional medicine has deep historical linkages and cultural roots. In a rural community, it is practice based on the ethnological, medical and heritage of the practitioners. Temiar indigenous tribe of Orang Asli in Kelantan, have their traditional way of beliefs and healing practices. This study examines the remedies using medicinal plants and herbs among the tribe members in Kampung Pasik, Kelantan, Malaysia. A structured questionnaire and in-depth interviews were conducted with 250 respondents. A total of 18 species of medicinal plants was recorded preferably used by the tribes. Results indicate that traditional phytoremedies practices play an important role in helping their healthcare system with the help of the tribe healers. Cultivated medicinal plant species represent 94% of the source, whereas 4.4% were found wild in the forest and 1.6% grown around their settlement. This study revealed that five preparations methods such as boiling (27.56%), pounded (27.45%), squeeze (21.60%), drying (14.17%) or concoction of various part of medicinal plants (9.22%). The most applied were by drinking (35.29%), chewing (32.70%) and 19.89% rubbing, poultice (6.40%) and shower ingredients (5.72%).
