Background: Waanders’s hard-lipped barbs or scientifically known as Osteochilus waandersii belong to the family Cyprinidae with the potamodromous category. This fish can be found in the Tambatan river. It has the potential for commercial consumption or ornamental fish. Methods: This study was conducted in the Tambatan river from November to January 2021. The determination of three research stations was carried out using a purposive sampling method. Sampling was undertaken using cast nets. Furthermore, data analyzed were growth patterns, condition factors, and gonad maturity levels. Results: The growth patterns of male (1.944) and female (2.379) Osteochilus waandersii were in a negative allometric category. Besides, The Fulton's condition factor for male fish ranged from 0.42 - 3.43 with an average of 1.05, while that for female fish ranged from 0.59 - 3.67 with an average of 1.47. The result of the observation on the gonad maturity level for male and female O. waandersii in the Tambatan river indicated that they were dominated by fish with gonad maturity stage I (immature). Conclusions: Waanders’s hard-lipped barbs O. waandersii found were in the stage towards the mature level.

The purpose of this study was to determine the length-weight relationship and gonad maturity of Betutu fish (Oxyeleotris marmorata) in Lake Tondano. Fish samples were caught using gill nets and lift nets in Lake Tondano. Total catches of 240 individuals. The legth-weight relation of male fish is W = 0.0094 L3.14 positive allometric growth pattern. Female female fish obtained W = 0.0104 L3.11 positive allometric growth patterns. The condition factor for male fish is 1.46 male and 1.47 female respectively. All levels of gonad maturity (I, II, III, IV and V) were found in each sample both in August and September. The size of the first mature male male fish is 219 ± 3 mm (range in size 216-222 mm) and female fish 171 ± 3 (range in size 169-174 mm).Keywords: Length-Weight, gonad maturity, Tondano Lake ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang-berat dan kematangan gonad ikan Betutu (Oxyeleotris marmorata) yang ada di danau Tondano. Sampel ikan  ditangkap menggunakan jaring insang dan jaring angkat di danau Tondano. Total hasil tangkapan  240 individu. Hubungan panjang-berat ikan betutu jantan yaitu W = 0,0094L3,1394 pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif. Ikan betutu betina didapatkan W = 0,0104L3,1137 pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif. Faktor kondisi ikan betutu jantan masing-masing sebesar  1,46 ikan jantan dan  1,47 ikan betina. Seluruh tingkat  kematangan gonad (I, II, III, IV dan V) ditemukan pada setiap sampel baik pada bulan agustus maupun bulan September.  Ukuran pertama kali matang ikan betutu jantan yaitu   219 ±3 mm (kisaran ukuran 216-222 mm) dan ikan betina  171±3  (kisaran ukuran 169-174 mm)Kata Kunci: Panjang-berat, kematangan gonad, Danau Tondano

Abstract Biological Aspects of Reproduction of Rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) in Betahwalang Demak The waters of Betahwalang, Demak have quite potential cruise resources. For the sustainability of crab resources, sustainable management is necessary to do. Information on biology reproduction of crabs is required. The purpose of this research was to determine aspects of biology reproduction such as sex ratio, growth pattern and gonad maturity level of the crabs in Betahwalang waters. This research was conducted on 23 September - 29 October 2016 in Betahwalang, Demak. The method used in this research is descriptive research method. Determination of location observation is divided into 3 Station that is Station 1 depth between 1-10 m, Station 2 depth 11-20 m, and Station 3 depth 21-30 m. The data were collected by determination of gender, width and length of carapace, gonad maturity level and data of the environmental parameter. Results of the analysis showed that the male genital sex ratios were higher at Station 1 (2.87:1) than Station 2 (1:1.27) and 3 (1:1.65). The growth properties of male and female crabs on all three stations exhibit negative allometric growth properties. The percentage of female crab gonad maturity level at Station 2 (94,31%) and 3 (95,48%) higher than Station 1 (30,43%).Keywords: Biological Aspect Reproduction, Portunus pelagicus, Betahwalang, Demak Abstrak Wilayah perairan Betahwalang, Demak memiliki sumberdaya rajungan yang cukup potensial. Untuk kelestarian sumberdaya rajungan, perlu dilakukan dengan pengelolaan perikanan rajungan berkelanjutan. Dibutuhkan informasi tentang aspek biologi reproduksi rajungan sangat diperlukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aspek biologi reproduksi seperti nisbah kelamin, pola pertumbuhan dan tingkat kematangan gonad rajungan di perairan Betahwalang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23 September - 29 Oktober 2016 di perairan Betahwalang, Demak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif. Penentuan lokasi pengamatan dibagi menjadi 3 Stasiun yaitu Stasiun 1 kedalaman antara 1-10 m, Stasiun 2 kedalaman 11-20 m, dan Stasiun 3 kedalaman 21-30 m. Pengambilan data penelitian meliputi penentuan jenis kelamin, lebar dan panjang karapas, tingkat kematangan gonad serta data parameter lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nisbah kelamin rajungan jantan lebih tinggi pada Stasiun 1 (2,87:1) daripada Stasiun 2 (1:1,27) dan 3 (1:1,65). Sifat pertumbuhan rajungan jantan dan betina pada ketiga Stasiun menunjukkan sifat pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Persentase tingkat kematangan gonad rajungan betina pada Stasiun 2 (94,31%) dan 3 (95,48%) lebih tinggi daripada Stasiun 1 (30,43%).Kata kunci : Aspek Biologi Reproduksi, Portunus pelagicus, Betahwalang, Demak.

One of the nutrients that can be given to brood feed fish to improve reproductive performance and egg quality is vitamin E. Vitamin E has a very important role in increasing fish reproduction because vitamin E functions as an antioxidant that can maintain the presence of fatty acids and prevent fat oxidation in the fish cell membrane and can accelerate the secretion of reproductive hormones. This study aims to determine the effect of vitamin E in feed at different doses on the level of gonad maturity of tilapia. The research was conducted at the Fisheries Laboratory of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University from July to August 2020. The samples of fish tested were tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) obtained from the Teratai fishing pond, Sanur Bali. Vitamin E used was Ovagrow Vit E with a vitamin E content of 50%. The CRD method (completely randomized design) was used with four treatments and three replications. The doses of vitamin E that were mixed into the feed were 0, 100, 300, and 500 mg/kg of feed. The results showed that the administration of vitamin E mixed in the feed at different doses had a significant effect on the achievement of gonad maturity level, gonad somatic index (GSI), and Fecundity (P <0.05). Provision of vitamin E at a dose of 300 mg/kg of feed was the best dose for ripening tilapia gonads. The gonad maturity level developed up to maturity stage IV, the GSI value was (3.56 ± 0.46) and the fecundity value was (1379 ± 289).

Eco-biological information of Cheilopogon abei in Geser Streit is unknown. The objective of this research is to observe the sex ratio, first size maturity, gonad maturity and gonado somatic index (GSI) with fecundity of flying fish Ch abei in Geser East Seram Strait waters. Sampling was done for ten months started from February to November 2018, using gill net measuring 1.50 inch. All fish samples were measured in fork length and weighted so dissected to make observations on the level of gonad maturity and the number of eggs in female fish. A total of 682 flying fish was found during the study with a fork length range of 182.6-243.3 mm and a weight of 73.98-115.45 g. The results of the analysis showed that the proportion of the number of male fish was less than that of the female fish for almost every month of observation. The first size gonad mature of male and female is 210.5 mm and 214.1 mm FL. The gonad maturity index of male fish ranges from 0,963-7,967 and female fish ranges 1,315-8,069, the total fecundity is 2321-9438 eggs. Gonads of ripe fish in each month of observation. The spawning peak of Ch abei takes place in June-July and it is hoped that no arrests will be made in both months, to ensure the sustainability of the stock.

<p class="BasicParagraph"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p class="BasicParagraph"> </p><p class="BasicParagraph">Bluespotted stingray fish <em>Neotrygon kuhlii</em> is the important fish economically captured from Sunda Strait. Intensive fishing could decrease bluespotted stingray stock. This study was aimed to know the length-weight, and reproduction characteristic. The reproduction characteristic covered the size of first gonad maturity, the level and also index of gonad maturity of bluespotted stingray fish in Labuan Fishing Dock, Banten. The result showed the equilibrium of length-weight of female fish was about W=0.0007L2,1496. Meanwhile, the male fish was about W=0.0000L2.251. Male fish was better than female fish according their relatively condition factor. Decreasing of the factor condition was caused by feeding habit to grow the reproduction cells. The size of first gonad maturity for the female and male respectively were about 550–799 dan 550–760 mm. The highest level maturity even female or male was on IV achieved in June and Juli 2013. Penangkapan yang intensif dapat mengakibatkan penurunan stok ikan pari blentik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui panjang bobot, dan  karakteristik reproduksi. Karaktersitik reproduksi itu sendiri meliputi ukaran pertama kali matang gonad, tingkat kematangan gonad dan indeks kematangan gonad ikan pari blentik di perairan Selat Sunda yang didaratkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai (PPP) Labuan, Banten. Berdasarkan hubungan panjang bobot ikan pari betina diperoleh persamaan hubungan panjang dan bobot untuk ikan pari blentik betina W=0,0007L2,1496. Sementara itu pada ikan jantan, persamaan hubungan panjang bobot W=0,0000L2,251. Ikan pari blentik jantan mempunyai faktor kondisi yang relatif lebih besar daripada ikan pari betina. Penurunan nilai faktor kondisi disebabkan bagian terbesar dari makanan yang dikonsumsi digunakan untuk perkembangan sel-sel reproduksinya. Kisaran ukuran pertama kali matang gonad ikan pari blentik betina 550–799, sedangkan untuk ikan pari jantan adalah dengan kisaran panjang total tubuh 550–760 mm. Tingkat kematangan gonad tertinggi ikan betina dan jantan (TKG IV) ditemukan pada bulan Juni dan Juli 2013. Panulirus longipes femoristriga atau lobster batik merah merupakan salah satu jenis tropical spiny lobster dari Famili Palinuridae yang jarang ditemukan di Perairan Indonesia. Untuk itu penting dilakukan pengamatan aspek biologi lobster batik merah ini dan sejarah penemuannya di perairan Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode percobaan penangkapan dengan tangan dan bantuan kompresor. Beberapa analisis yang dilakukan antara lain analisis komposisi, kelas ukuran, kebiasaan makanan, analisis tingkat kematangan gonad dan fekunditas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan sejarah ditemukan, lobster batik merah (P. l. femoristriga) merupakan tropical spiny lobster dari kelompok Palinuridae dan merupakan salah satu sub varian dari lobster batik (P. longipes). Jenis ini tercatat ditemukan di perairan Lombok sebagai lokasi ke empat di Indonesia setelah Perairan Sulawesi, Papua Barat, dan Ambon. Komposisinya di perairan menempati nilai prosentase bobot dan jumlah masing masing dalam kisaran 11,26-12,03 % dan 21,28- 22,5 %, berada di urutan ke empat setelah lobster batu, bambu dan batik. Struktur ukuran hasil tangkapan didominasi ukuran larang tangkap. Kebiasaan makanan dari lobster batik merah terdiri atas kelompok moluska: jenis gastropoda dan bivalvia, krustasea jenis udang udangan dan kepiting serta makrofita. Fekunditas bekisar antara 8.332 – 66.076 butir dengan diameter telur berkisar antara 0,45-0,79 mm. Panjang karapas dan bobot pada saat pertama kali matang gonad masing-masing adalah 3,8 – 4,7 cm (4.3 cm) dan 66,12 – 106,45 gr. (rata rata 87,58 gr).Panulirus longipes femoristriga or red batik lobster (white-whiskered coral crayfish) is one type of tropical spiny lobster from the Family of Palinuridae that is rarely found in Indonesian waters. It is important to observe the biological aspects of this red batik lobster and the history of its discovery in Indonesian waters. The research was carried out using a hand-held method of and compressor equipment. Several analyzes were performed, among others, composition analysis, class size, food habits, maturity level analysis of gonad and fecundity. The results showed that based on the history of the red batik lobster (P. l. femoristriga) tropical spiny lobster of one of sub variants of batik lobster (P. longipes). This species recorded is found in the waters of Lombok as the fourth location in Indonesia after the waters of Sulawesi, West Papua, and Ambon. Its composition occupies precentage value of weight and number of each in the range of 11.26 to 12.03% and 21.28 to 22.5% respectively, ranked as fourth after rock, bamboo and batik lobsters. The size of the catch is dominated by the size of the ban. The food habit of red batik lobsters of mollusks: gastropods and bivalves, crustaceans (shrimps) and crabs as well as macrophytes. Fecundity ranged between 8,332 - 66,076 eggs, with diameter ranging from 0.45 to 0.79 mm. The carapace length and weight at the first mature gonad ranged between 3.8 - 4.7 cm (4.3 cm) and 66.12 - 106.45 gr (average 87.58 gr), respectively.

Halfbeaks (Nomorhamphus sp.) are freshwater fishes that inhabit the Moramo River. Data and scientific information of this species are still limited. This study aims to determine the morphometric characters and growth patterns of halfbeak fish in the Moramo River. This research was conducted from April to June 2020. The fish was caught using a modified seine net. The length of the net is 15 m, width 1.2 m, and mesh size 0.5 x 0.5 inches. There is a pocket in the middle of the net with 40 cm of diameter and 1.5 m of length. The fish were separated by sex, weighed, and preserved using 4% formalin. Measurement of 22 morphometric characters using calipers with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. A total of 120 fish were caught, with 60 males and 60 females. Male fish have body lengths and weights ranging from 40.5-71 mm and 0.45-2.93 g, while female fish have body lengths and weights ranging from 43.5-91.5 mm and 0.5-5.74 g. The results of the growth patterns of male and female halfbeaks are negative allometric (b<3).

ABSTRACT This study was conducted to evaluate the profile of 17ß-estradiol (E2) and vitellogenin (Vtg) in plasma and egg diameter during gonad maturity process of striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. Blood samples were collected from immature striped catfish, male and female with different stage of gonad maturity (stage I, II, III, and IV) to measure the concentrations of E2 and Vtg. Gonad maturity development of striped catfish was observed based on egg diameter. Result showed that E2 concentrations were the highest (843.65 pg/mL) on female with maturity stage III, the lowest on the male (26.34 pg/mL), and immature female fish (29.37 pg/mL). The protein band of Vtg was obtained on the plasma of the mature female (stage I, II, III and IV) with a molecular weight (MW) between 140−180 kDa, but it was not obtained on immature female dan male striped catfish. The highest concentration of Vtg was found in the plasma of the female fish with maturity stage III (87.34 mg/mL), then on the stage II (74.83 mg/mL), I (68.58 mg/mL), and IV (33.45 mg/mL). It showed that egg yolk formation occurred in the female mature. The average egg diameter was 0.107 ± 0.052 mm, 0.318 ± 0.086 mm, 0.864 ± 0.099 mm, and 1.041 ± 0.058 mm on the maturity stage I, II, III, and IV respectively. The increase of egg diameter along with development of gonad maturity stage indicated that egg development occurred due to the process of vitellogenesis and the addition of egg yolk on oocyte. Keywords : egg diameter, gonad maturity, striped catfish , 17ß–estradiol, vitellogenin ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi profil estradiol-17β (E2), vitelogenin (Vtg) dalam plasma dan diameter telur pada proses pematangan gonad ikan patin siam (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). Sampel darah untuk pengukuran konsentrasi E2 dan Vtg plasma diperoleh dari ikan patin siam betina yang belum matang gonad, ikan jantan, ikan betina dengan tahap kematangan gonad yang berbeda (tahap I, II, III dan IV). Perkembangan kematangan gonad ikan patin siam diamati berdasarkan diameter telur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi E2 tertinggi (843,65 pg/mL) pada ikan betina dengan kematangan tahap III, terendah pada ikan jantan (26,34 pg/mL), dan ikan betina tidak matang gonad (29,37 pg/mL). Pita protein Vtg pada sampel plasma diperoleh dari betina matang gonad (tahap I, II, III dan IV) dengan berat molekul antara 140-180 kDa, tetapi tidak diperoleh pada ikan patin siam betina yang belum dewasa dan jantan. Nilai konsentrasi tertinggi Vtg ditemukan dalam plasma darah ikan betina dengan tingkat kematangan III (87,34 mg/mL) kemudian pada tahap II (74,83 mg/mL), I (68,58 mg/mL) dan IV (33,45 mg/mL). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pada ikan betina dewasa terjadi proses pembentukan kuning telur (vitelogenesis). Rata-rata diameter telur adalah 0,107 ± 0,052 mm, 0,318 ± 0,086 mm, 0,864 ± 0,099 mm dan 1,041 ± 0,058 mm pada tingkat kematangan I, II, III dan IV secara berurutan. Lake Matano is an ancient lake that has a high endemicity. Opudi fish (Telmatherina prognatha) is an endemic fish that is vulnerable to extinction and needs to be preserved. The threat of invasive species and habitat degradation can cause a decrease in opudi fish populations. This study aimed to examine the growth parameters associated with growth coefficients and mortality in Lake Matano so that population can be sustainable. The study was conducted at Lake Matano from March 2018 to February 2019. Samples of fish were caught using a net bag measuring 30 m long, 2 m wide with a mesh size of 0.5 inches. Analysis of fish growth was based on total length-frequency data. These data were analyzed using the FISAT II software. The sizes of male and female opudi fish obtained ranged from 30-70 mm. Growth patterns of von Bertalanffy butina in male fish are male Lt = 76.50 [1-e-0.46 (t + 0.47)] and female fish Lt = 74.05 [1-e-0.51 (t + 0.52)]. The total mortality value of male fish was higher (Z = 1.65) compared to female fish (Z = 1.50), the natural mortality value of male opudi fish was lower (M = 0.84) compared to that of female fish (M = 0.91).   Keywords: endemic fish, growth, mortality, Telmatherina prognatha

This research was carried out in the waters of Latulahalat, Ambon Island from June to August 2016. The objectives of the research were to study some biological aspects namely sex ratio, gonad maturity level, size distribution and growth pattern of scad mackerel, Decaterus russelli. Fish samples were collected every month at fish landing from purse seine fishers. Sex ratios of scad mackerel in the area were equal i.e. 1:1 with the male dominated gonad maturity levels I and IV while female dominated gonad maturity levels II, III and V.  In general, male fishes were smaller than female ones in term of length and weight. Scad mackerel in the area showed positive allometric growth except for male on August which showed isometric growth Keywords: Decaterus russelli, sex ratio, .gonad maturity level, growth pattern
