Curso Autoformativo de Português para Intercâmbio (CAPI) is a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) that aims to prepare students for academic exchange programs. The didactic materials of CAPI are being designed based on a perspective of language use (Clark, 2000) and discourse genres (Bakhtin, 2011). This paper analyzes the course contents in order to examine how this theoretical construct was put into practice in the selection of themes and texts and in the design of the pedagogical tasks. The materials are coherent with the theoretical perspective in that they foster the learning of Portuguese in use and to use through the interaction with oral and written texts in social practices in which students might participate in the university and the city of destination, thus preparing them for their stay. The addition of explicit reflection on possible implications of interlocutors’ relations to the use of linguistic-discursive and cultural repertoires is suggested.

<p>This dissertation explores the Erinyes’ nature and function in Aeschylus’ Oresteia. It looks at how Aeschylus conceives the Erinyes, particularly their transformation into Semnai Theai, as a central component of the Oresteia’s presentation of social, moral and religious disorder and order. The dissertation first explores the Erinyes in the poetic tradition, then discusses the trilogy’s development of the choruses, before examining the Erinyes’ / Semnai Theai’s involvement in the trilogy’s establishment of justice and order and concluding with an analysis of why Aeschylus chooses Athens (over Argos and Delphi) as the location for trilogy’s decision making and resolution. Chapter One explores the pre-Aeschylean Erinyes’ origin and primary associations in order to determine which aspects of the Erinyes / Semnai Theai are traditional and how Aeschylus innovates in the tradition. It further identifies epithets and imagery that endow the Erinyes / Semnai Theai with fearsome qualities, on the one hand, and with a beneficial, preventive function, on the other. The discussion of the development of the choruses throughout the trilogy in Chapter Two takes three components: an examination of (1) the Erinyes’ transformation from abstract goddesses to a tragic chorus, (2) from ancient spirits of vengeance and curse to Semnai Theai (i.e. objects of Athenian cult) and (3) how the choruses of Agamemnon and Choephori prefigure the Erinyes’ emergence as chorus in Eumenides. Of particular interest are the Argive elders’ and slave women’s invocations of the Erinyes, their action and influence upon events, and their uses of recurrent moral and religious ideals that finally become an integral part of the Areopagus and the cult of the Semnai Theai. The Erinyes’ / Semnai Theai’s role as objects of Athenian cult supports the institutionalised justice of the Areopagus, putting an end to private vendetta, promoting civic order and piety and rendering the city and its citizens prosperous as a result. Chapter Three explores how the Erinyes’ transformation into Semnai Theai relates to the Oresteia’s development from conflict and disorder to harmony and order. It examines a selection of the trilogy’s speech acts, emotions and attitudes, socio-religious practices and laws and their relationship to the Erinyes’ function as goddesses of vengeance and curse and objects of Athenian cult. It suggests that Athens’ reception of the Semnai Theai runs analogous with the removal of corruption and perversion from the key terms analysed in the chapter (i.e. curse and oath, fear and reverence, sacrifice, the guest-host relationship and supplication, and laws); the promotion of social, moral and religious norms that benefit the polis is integral to the Semnai Theai as objects of Athenian cult. Chapter Four examines Athens’ ability to settle differences without violence in the trilogy; it explores the polis’ capacity to resolve the trilogy’s cycle of vengeance and curse, particularly to placate the Erinyes, and relates Athens to Argos as a hegemonic city and to Delphi as Panhellenic centre of worship. The dramatic events at Athens positively represent the polis’ ideology and hegemony: addressing the social and political situation at 458BC, the trilogy’s final scenes advocate internal civic harmony, encourage alliances and metoikia, and the pursuit of imperialistic strategies to project Athens as Panhellenic leader.</p>

Frankfurt, Vienna and Stockholm: three European cities which played a fundamental role in the housing policies implemented during the inter-war period. The research projects and teaching activity carried out at the EPFL in the Laboratory of Construction and Conservation focuses on this specific historic context. The experiences of these three cities with regard to housing are well documented from a historical viewpoint that, however, show many shortcomings with regards to the architectural analysis. The provided examples sum up simultaneously the social dynamics, the cultural milieu, as well as the adopted intentions and political programme. The exhibition aims at producing fresh knowledge of the three contributions to modern housing available to students, scholars, professors and architectural practitioners. The goal is to compare a selection of remarkable housing neighbourhoods through the different scales of the project, ranging from the relation with the city till the dwelling unit layout. The produced drawings and documents show the morphological and typological variety. Frankfurt, Vienna and Stockholm equally illustrate different ways of designing the collective space—that is the intermediary space in-between the communal and private – which is a crucial feature of the “living together”.

Studies of various types have indicated that residential areas of a city differ in their characteristics, and have suggested that these differences are the bases of residents' choices of where to obtain a home. Although people have been asked why they have made a certain choice, however, no attempts have been made to investigate the number of dimensions to residents' evaluations of suburbs, or the number of criteria on which they rate areas. The present study suggests that there might be five such dimensions, these being amalgams of a large number of terms which could be used to describe an area. The semantic differential technique has been used to test whether these five are relevant to a selection of residents of Christchurch, New Zealand; the analyses suggest that in fact there are probably three interrelated dimensions, and that these three are invariant with area of residence in the city. Although these dimensions of the criteria for evaluation are the same, however, the various suburbs were rated at different levels by groups living in different areas. Apparently both the social and the spatial distance between the respondent's home suburb and that which he is rating are influences on these variations.

Corpo.Abstract: The main goal of this article it is to analyze which are the factors that determent the construction of the self-image in body building practitioners. The theoretical construction of this paper is based on the research of scientifically articles on the SCIELO data base with inclusion/exclusion criterias detailed on this paper later on, objectifying the selection of other papers that approach and contribute with the discussion about self-image. However, even though this is an up growing theme showed, the data base consulted shows that there are few researchers interested on this subject and that makes this kind of theme incipient. There are few articles in Portuguese that considers the Brazilian reality about self-image construction and the focus areas are psychology and physical education, but still considering diagnostic and pathology approaches instead of considering self-image as a constructive movement. The nature of this study is exploratory containing thirty respondents collected in the city of Nepomuceno in Minas Gerais, of two instruments: Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) and Figure Rating Scale (FRS). The analysis of the collected data is both qualitative and quantitative approaches and was realized on bases of contained analysis by closed web. It´s conclude that the construction of the self-image depends on the social and culture influences under a subjective rationalization and that to show of the perfect measures for others is more important than to have the perfect body for yourself. This is the prof that self-imagem is constructed towards others more that to ourselves. Keywords: Self-Image. Representation. Body.

Metropolitanisation processes caused by unplanned urban growth have generated an enormous demand for infrastructure and services, as well as impacts on the environment that can lead to imbalances in social development. In order to promote sustainable growth, it is necessary to plan a fair distribution of services throughout the development of the city with efficient infrastructure system. Our answer is a proactive project, which holds the social and ecological function of the city that restores safe environmental conditions. In the ongoing TELLme Erasmus+ project, we attempt to define a holistic methodology, the Metro-dology; structure a training lab where academia and practitioners can discuss the issues, principles, and gaps of the metropolitan area; and develop mapping tools to comprehend the metropolitan complexity and support the training. We are looking for new relations among the parts of the city through first, mobility project to transform the times of the city; second, identification of suitable places for the production of a modern and clean circular economy; and finally selection of areas for urban regeneration to rediscover and renew the identity of the metropolitan city.
