The main objective of present study was to prepare a herbo-mineral facial scrub. Majorly facial skin comes in direct contact of dirt, pollution, dust particles and having large number of dead cells. In order to remove the dead cells and make the skin healthy, cleaned and nourished, some facial preparations required. The prepared scrub contains various natural ingredients which are safer for use and having fewer side effects and also they possess antiseptic, anti-infective, antioxidant, anti-aging and humectant properties. The scrub was prepared by using simple mixing method using various ingredients such as poppy seeds, neem extract, tulsi extract, aloe vera gel, almond oil, mixed in carbopol 934, rest of ingredients such as glycerin, triethanolamine, preservatives and perfuming agent were also added to this preparation with homogeneous mixing. The formulated scrub was evaluated for various parameters such as physical appearance, color, texture, odor, pH, viscosity, irritability, washability, homogeneity, extrudability, spreadability and found fruitful results for all the parameter tested. Thus the prepared formulation can be used effectively as it shows good scrubbing properties and it can be used to make a healthy, clean and glowing skin. Aloe vera is a commonly used plant in both food and medicine industry. The potential toxicological side-effects of prolonged intake of Aloe extract have not been evaluated in detail. This work presents an in-depth toxicological study of the crude unprocessed A. vera gel in experimental rats. Acute and sub-chronic toxicity was evaluated in a 1 to 28-day long feeding schedule of the aqueous homogenized gel material. Hemoglobin, total protein, high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), cholesterol, triglyceride, serum creatinine, serum alanine transaminase (SGPT), aspartate transaminase (SGOT) and alkaline phosphatase were examined and kidney and liver histology was performed. In the acute toxicity test, the behavioral aspects were also considered. A molecular docking assay was performed to investigate the binding affinities of pure A. vera compounds with liver and kidney toxicological marker enzymes, in order to assess the probable mode of action of selected Aloe constituents. Solubility factors for the active constituents were also studied to determine their possible miscibility with body fluids. The results from in vivo tests provided no major toxicological indications. Crude Aloe gel consumption up to 4 g/kg body weight (b.w.) showed no toxicological side effects. From the structural standpoint, Aloe-based bioactive molecules, such as Aloe-emodin, acetophenone, ?-sitosterol, cholestenol and squalene showed promising binding affinity to qualify as alternative and complementary medicines. The synergistic roles of all A. vera constituents remain to be validated in human disease models.

Background: Acne is a chronic disorder that affects almost 80% of adolescents and young adults, causing psychological and emotional distress. However, the current treatments for acne are either ineffective or have many side effects. This study was designed to confirm and objectively quantify the effect of a new non-drug combined therapy on acne.Methods: This study innovatively utilized ultrasound, which enhanced the absorption of aloe vera gel, and soft mask to make a purely physical method without any drugs. In both the treatment group and control group, the number of papules/pustules and the area of hyperpigmented lesions were counted, and a smart mirror intelligent face system was used before and after the combined therapy. Alterations in the skin functional index were recorded and analyzed statistically.Results: In the treatment group, the combined therapy significantly reduced the number of papules and the area of hyperpigmented lesions and improved skin roughness and local blood circulation. In the control group, there was no obvious improvement over 2 months.Conclusion: This study suggests that the new non-drug combined therapy significantly improved acne, which provided experimental evidence and treatment guidance for patients with mild to severe acne, especially patients with moderate acne. This new therapy may possibly be an appropriate method for patients who seek topical treatments with mild side effects and low antibiotic resistance rates.

This study aims to make facial wash gel made from Aloe vera L. as a natural surfactant. The experimental method used included the stages of analysis of Aloe vera extract samples, addition of carbomer 960 with a percentage of 0.5%, 0.7% and 2%, selection of essential oils according to facial skin requirements, testing of secondary metabolites contained in Aloe vera extract. Furthermore, making aloe gel as a facial wash by utilizing the secondary metabolites contained in Aloe vera that have characteristics in accordance with the Indonesian national standard (SNI). The results showed that Aloe vera extract used positively contained flavonoid, triterpenoid, saponin, and polyphenol compounds. It has been successfully made the best facial wash gel with formulation obtained in addition of carbomer 960 with a percentage of 0.7%. The organoleptic results of Aloe vera gel as facial wash include having an aroma in accordance with the added essence, soft texture, gel form, cloudy white color, feeling cool or cold when applied to facial skin, without foam and having a pH of 5.

ABSTRACTSaturn's broad E ring, the narrow G ring and the structured and apparently time variable F ring(s), contain many micron and sub-micron sized particles, which make up the “visible” component. These rings (or ring systems) are in direct contact with magnetospheric plasma. Fluctuations in the plasma density and/or mean energy, due to magnetospheric and solar wind processes, may induce stochastic charge variations on the dust particles, which in turn lead to an orbit perturbation and spatial diffusion. It is suggested that the extent of the E ring and the braided, kinky structure of certain portions of the F rings as well as possible time variations are a result of plasma induced electromagnetic perturbations and drag forces. The G ring, in this scenario, requires some form of shepherding and should be akin to the F ring in structure. Sputtering of micron-sized dust particles in the E ring by magnetospheric ions yields lifetimes of 102to 104years. This effect as well as the plasma induced transport processes require an active source for the E ring, probably Enceladus.

Background: The oral administration route is still the most preferred by patients for drug treatment, but is unfortunately not suitable for all drug compounds. For example, protein and peptide drugs (e.g. insulin) are typically administered via injection seeing as they are unstable in the gastrointestinal luminal environment and have poor membrane permeation properties. To overcome this problem, functional excipients such as drug absorption enhancers can be co-administered. Although Aloe vera gel has the ability to improve the permeation of drugs across the intestinal epithelium, its drug permeation enhancing effect has not been investigated in the different regions of the gastrointestinal tract yet. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the insulin permeation enhancing effects of A. vera gel material across excised pig intestinal tissues from different regions of the gastrointestinal tract and to identify the gastrointestinal region where the highest insulin permeation enhancement was achieved. : Insulin transport across excised pig intestinal tissues from the duodenum, proximal jejunum, medial jejunum, distal jejunum, ileum and colon was measured in the absence and presence of A. vera gel (0.5% w/v) using both the Sweetana-Grass diffusion chamber and everted sac techniques. Results: The insulin permeation results obtained from both ex vivo techniques showed varied permeation enhancing effects of A. vera gel as a function of the different regions of the gastrointestinal tract. The colon was identified as the gastrointestinal region where A. vera gel was the most effective in terms of insulin permeation enhancement in the Sweetana-Grass diffusion chamber technique with a Papp value of 5.50 x 10-7 cm.s-1, whereas the ileum was the region where the highest permeation enhancement occurred in the everted sac technique with a Papp value of 5.45 x 10-7 cm.s-1. Conclusion: The gastrointestinal permeation enhancing effects of A. vera gel on insulin is region specific with the highest effect observed in the ileum and colon.
