This study aims to discuss the advocacy of imeum mukim in preventing environmental pollution in Aceh Jaya according to customary and Islamic law. The research is an empirical legal study, while the research approach is a case study approach, which is a study that analyzes a particular case. The theory used is the role and authority theory associated with customary and Islamic law. This study concludes that imeum mukim has a vital role and authority in Acehnese society because imuem mukim can resolve cases at the mukim level if it is unresolved at the village level. Then Imeum Mukim in Aceh Jaya has been advocating and socializing the prevention of environmental pollution by revitalizing customary rules, making qanuns at the mukim and village levels that accommodate the protection of the environment, for example, maintaining watersheds and prohibiting logging, including protecting certain animals. In addition, Imuem Mukim can also encourage CSR funds from companies to assist orphans, the poor, and environmental conservation. Furthermore, environmental pollution in the perspective of customary law is accommodated in customary rules and prohibitions. This is because customary law has philosophical, juridical, and sociological powers that have become living law. Meanwhile, in the perspective of the Islamic law that polluting the environment is a prohibition that brings God's wrath, it also destroys environmental sustainability and human benefit in general. On the other hand, preserving the environment is an obligation humans must carry out.

Pakraman Bakbakan Village is one of the areas in the Balinese customary law area which also has regulations governing the lives of its people which are basically poured into awig-awig forms that are generally owned by all Pakraman Villages in Bali. In awig-awig, Pakraman Bakbakan Village, there is one adat sanction, namely Kanorayang adat sanction which is still preserved. The application of Kanorayang customary sanctions is based on awig-awig Desa Pakraman Bakbakan Palet Kaping XX (Indik Pamidanda). The imposition of Kanorayang adat sanctions is applied as an act of expulsion from Pakraman village customary activities so that those who are subject to the kanorayang adat sanctions lose their rights and obligations within the Pakraman Village organization. This study aims to analyze the policy of late charge elimination applied to PT Bank BNI Syariah. This policy was initiated at the year of 2016 which predictably lead to the inclination of problematic financing at BNI Syariah. This study provides evaluation and recommendation for policy implementation to reduce the number of problematic financing. This study uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. The research instrument used was through the interview process with BNI Syariah and the DSN (Dewan Syari‟ah Nasional/ Read: National Board of Islamic Law) of MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia/ Read: Indonesian Muslim Scholars Council). The results of the study reveals that the application of a fine-elimination policy was applied because of bank doubts about the application of fines to sharia and fines that have no effect on the bank’s income. PT Bank BNI Syariah uses persuasive policies and still applies the ta'widh policy after the application of the fine is eliminated. This policy has a positive impact on marketing but is still vulnerable to an increase in the level of Non Performing Financing (NPF).

Purpose While tourism scholars have increasingly recognized the significance of collaboration as an essential element in tourism development, there is a lack of theoretical and empirical research centering on (trans)local collaboration as a central means for future tourism development in Greenland. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the conceptual and analytic potentials and challenges of collaboration in an explorative case study. Design/methodology/approach The paper applies a case study approach to scrutinize collaboration in the setting of a tourism workshop in South Greenland. This research approach is exploratory in nature and focuses on collaborative activities among participants from different research institutions and countries, from Campus Kujalleq in Qaqortoq, from small-scale enterprises and businesses, managers of destination marketing organizations and local fishermen. Findings Four “collaborative configurations” emerged during the workshop. These inspire and challenge ways of (re)conceptualizing collaborative tourism development in South Greenland and call for the reconsideration of the present approach toward tourism development for shaping new possible future(s) of tourism in the Greenlandic context. Originality/value The relevance of this paper emerges from the crucial significance that tourism actors in Greenland credit collaboration. Moreover, by approaching development issues from within and mutually developing possible practice solutions through collaboration with local tourism actors, the paper aims to give voice to the local community, which currently is lacking in the debate on tourism development in Greenland.

This paper urges greater recognition of the case study as a research method for information management. It acknowledges concern about the representatives of case studies but by specifying the relationships between epistemology and research methods shows that this concern is misplaced. Representatives is irrelevant for many research purposes, particularly when the distinction is made between logical and statistical inference. The validity of explanations or theory derived from case studies depends on the logic of the analysis and acknowledgement of ceteris paribus conditions, not on how typical the cases may be. Typologies of case studies have been proposed and these are considered, together with recommendations for the conduct of systematic and rigorous case study research. It is stressed that research problems should be addressed using appropriate research methods. Research of the important problems within the management area frequently demands a qualitative research approach, though it would seem that such an approach is often ignored because of a positivist research orientation. An assessment of the strengths and weakness of the case study method, which highlights its potential in the vital role of theory-building, leads to the conclusions that this method has much to commend it to information management researchers (1).

Purpose The case study approach has been widely used in management studies and the social sciences more generally. However, there are still doubts about when and how case studies should be used. This paper aims to discuss this approach, its various uses and applications, in light of epistemological principles, as well as the criteria for rigor and validity. Design/methodology/approach This paper discusses the various concepts of case and case studies in the methods literature and addresses the different uses of cases in relation to epistemological principles and criteria for rigor and validity. Findings The use of this research approach can be based on several epistemologies, provided the researcher attends to the internal coherence between method and epistemology, or what the authors call “alignment.” Originality/value This study offers a number of implications for the practice of management research, as it shows how the case study approach does not commit the researcher to particular data collection or interpretation methods. Furthermore, the use of cases can be justified according to multiple epistemological orientations.
