In this paper, we present a bandpass filter that passed frequency of 1.7 GHz – 1.8 GHz. It is applied for an uplink frequency in 4G 1800MHz. This filter is created by using substrate PCB TMM-10i and has a compact size of 42 mm x 42 mm. The compact size is also important besides selectivity. The selectivity is achieved by implementing cascade square loop resonator method which generated transmission zeros. Actually, transmission zeros are obtained from the coupled resonator. The bandpass filter is designed by adding an external resonator on each square of the resonator loop and a patch to the inside of the square loop resonator. The parameter performances are simulated by HFSS. The parameter performances for return loss value is 14.24 dB at frequency 1.75 GHz and insertion loss value is 0.65 dB at frequency 1.75 GHz. By using VNA Anritsu MS 2026A, prototype bandpass filter is measured. The measurement results for return loss value is 6.8 dB and insertion loss value is 2.2 dB.

A novel planar extended doublet filter based on substrate Integrated waveguide cavity resonators was proposed for the first time. This filter consists of a main doublet with an additional resonator grown in one of the branches. The source and load are coupled to both branches of the doublet in order to generate two transmission zeros. By employing the combinational structure of the TE101-mode and TE102-mode of the SIW cavity resonators, the negative coupling coefficient required for the design of a single-layer cross-coupled SIW bandpass filter is implemented. The measurement results show the return loss of the implemented filter is above 13dB, the insertion loss is below 4.238dB with only 0.56% of the bandwidth.

A novel miniaturized wideband bandpass filter (BPF) using capacitor-loaded microstrip coupled line is proposed. The capacitors are loaded in parallel and series to the coupled line, which makes the filter just require one one-eighth wavelength coupled line and achieve filtering response with multiple transmission poles (TPs) and transmission zeros (TZs). Compared with the state-of-the-art microstrip wideband BPFs, the proposed filter has the advantages of compact size and simple structure. A prototype centered at 1.47 GHz with the 3-dB fractional bandwidth of 86.5% is demonstrated, which exhibits the compact size of 0.003λ2 g (λg is the guided wavelength at the center frequency) and the minimum insertion loss of 0.37 dB.

In this letter, a compact dual-mode bandpass filter (BPF) with an ultra-wide stopband that employs two folded open-loop resonators (FOLRs) and stub-loaded resonators (SLRs) is proposed. The dual-mode resonators are optimized by loading two SLRs onto the folded open-loop resonators, and this process is analyzed using the dual-mode theory. To miniaturize the device size and increase chip performance, the proposed BPF is fabricated by a III–V compound semiconductor-fabrication process using a high-performance GaAs substrate based on the integration passivation device (IPD) fabrication process. A compact dual-mode BPF with low insertion loss and high return loss is designed and fabricated. Two extra transmission zeros (TZs) located in the high-frequency range increase the wide stopband, and the two TZs near the passband result in a higher selectivity. A resonant frequency centered at 7.45 GHz with an insertion loss of −1.21 dB and a measured return loss of higher than −23.53 dB and 3 dB fractional bandwidths of 5.8% are achieved. The stopband can be suppressed up to 20 GHz owing to the two tunable TZs resulting in higher selectivity and wideband rejection. The size of the filter was drastically optimized using a simplified architecture of two FOLRs and SLRs.

A compact lowpass filter using two single-sided compact microstrip resonator cells (CMRCs)with low insertion loss and broad bandwidth is presented. The cutoff frequency is about 1.4 GHz, the insertion loss is less than 0.6 dB and the 20dB bandwidth is up to the range from 2.1 GHz to 9.8 GHz by means of introducing four transmission zeros through two CMRCs. In addition, the simulated results demonstrate that the proposed filter is characterized by a compact size, low insertion loss, sharp transition, low return loss and wide bandwidth.

AbstractThis paper presents a compact quad-band bandpass filter. The filter is realized by multi-embedded stub-load resonators. By utilizing multi-embedded structure, the whole filter exhibits a compact size. And due to the multi-section stub-loaded lines, four passbands can be realized and the center frequency of the four passbands can be controlled individually to accommodate different communication protocols. Moreover, by using 0° degree feed structure, there are two transmission zeros locates at left and right side of a passband, which greatly enhance the selectivity. To validate the proposed idea, a quad-band bandpass filter, which operates at 2/2.7/3.45/4.55 GHz is implemented. The insertion loss is smaller than 2 dB and return loss is better than 10 dB. Good agreement between the predicted and measured results demonstrates the proposed idea.

This paper presents a miniaturized bandpass filter, which uses half mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) structure with embedded step impedance structure (SIS). By embedding the stepped impedance structure into the top metal of the waveguide cavity, the center frequency can be quickly shifted to a lower frequency. The operating center frequency of the proposed bandpass filter (BPF) using HMSIW resonators with embedded SIS is tunable as functions of the parameters of the SIS. The design curve is provided. A filter example of the center frequency of the filter at 3.5 GHz is fabricated and measured, having the insertion loss |S21| less than 3 dB, and the return loss |S11| greater than 10 dB. The transmission zeros are located at 2.95 GHz and 3.95 GHz on both sides of the passband, both of which are lower than 30 dB. The simulation result and the measured response conform to the proposed design concept. The proposed HMSIW filter design is in line with the current 5G communication trend.

A narrowband dual-band bandpass filter based on step impedance resonator (SIR) is proposed in this paper to realize high performance with a compact size. The center frequencies of the designed filter are 2.4 and 5.8GHz, where it is suitable for wireless communication system. The absolute bandwidth approaches 200MHz with 8.3% fractional bandwidth at -3dB, and the simulations show that the return loss of the first and the second band is lower than -20dB. Between the two passbands, there is a transmission zero which can achieve a high out-band isolation. For demonstration, the filter has been fabricated and the measurement results show the excellent agreement with the theoretical simulation results

AbstractA dual closed-loop stepped impedance resonator (DCLSIR) is investigated and used in designing a compact microstrip bandpass filter (BPF). The proposed DCLSIR is symmetrical; as a result, the symmetric characteristics of the resonator have been used. The design equations are derived and used to support the circuit design. The center frequency, position of transmission zeros, and fractional bandwidth (FBW) are easily tuned by changing the physical dimensions of the resonator. Three transmission zeros are generated to improve the performance in the upper stopband. A DCLSIR prototype BPF is fabricated with a center frequency of 9.3 GHz, and evaluated to validate the design concept. The measured FBW is 9.25%, the insertion loss is 1.58 dB, and the return loss is over 17 dB. The measurement results agree well with the simulation results.
