The study was intended to examine the effect of mental health on old people. Aim: The aim was to estimate the prevalence of mental health in old people and to determine the association of mental health with types of family and gender. Sample: The sample consists of 120 old people from different old age home and family in Rajkot district area. The sample was selected from randomly. Design: 2*2research design was used the present study. Tools: Mental Health was measured through a questionnaire ‘Mental Health Inventory’was used. Test developed by Bhatt D & Gida G. in (1992).The data was analyzed by the t test. Results: There will be no significant difference between Gender and Types of Area in relation to their mental health. Conclusions: Our study demonstrates a higher prevalence of mental health in old people.

BACKGROUND With recent advancement in health facility, both in urban and rural population, ratio of elderly people has increased and due to this apart from physical illness, mental health is also emerged as an important public health challenge. Psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders and substance use disorders were commonly found in elderly specially living alone and in care homes. The primary purpose of this study was to compare mental health of elderly people living in care homes with those living with family in Kota (Hadoti region, Rajasthan). METHODS This is a cross-sectional comparative study that was carried out in 50 elderly people living in care homes and 50 elderly people living with family. Both groups were screened for psychiatric disorders using general health questionnaire (GHQ – 12). Comparison was made under various headings between these groups including severity. Obtained data were analysed by using proportion, mean, standard deviation, chi-square, and Pearson correlation. RESULTS No statistically significant difference was found in having psychiatric disorders on screening with GHQ - 12. Difference in these groups for prevalence and severity was not statistically significant for depression and anxiety although significant higher mean of total geriatric depression score (GDS) score in control (10.74 ± 2.56) than in cases (9.38 ± 2.36) and total Hamilton’s anxiety rating scale (HAM – A) score was seen in case group (24.53 ± 3.50) than in controls (23.15 ± 2.34). CONCLUSIONS In this study, it was found out that psychiatry morbidity was higher among elderly population living in old age home when compared to elders living with family in community. Possible reason for higher psychiatric morbidity in old age home group in our study appears to be because of lack of family support, pain of being separated from their children whom they cared and nurtured for their whole life. In psychiatric morbidity we found that depression was the most common disorder in elderly population in both groups. KEYWORDS Old Age Home, Mental Disorders, Depression, Anxiety

In present studies mental anxiety was studied between art and science students. A group of 80 students was taken in which there were 40 girls and 40 boys and each group included from both art and science students. 20 subjects were taken in each treatment and each subject was treated individually. Two ways ANOVA was applied on the data obtained. The mean of art students and science students were calculated. The anxiety of Science students was found to be more as compared to Arts students.

Mental health is an integral and essential component of health. The WHO constitution states: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Today, it is recognized that good mental health is not just the absence of mental illness. Nor is it absolute – some people are more mentally healthy than others, whether you are mentally ill or not. In order to determine the mental health of adolescent school going children, government and private schools from the domain of Jaipur city were taken. A sample of total of 300 adolescents consisting of 150 government school adolescents and 150 private school adolescents were taken. The test used was Mental Health Battery (MHI) (Verma, J. and Srivastava, A.K. 1996). It was found that in all the dimensions of mental health, no significant difference was found for government and private school children. It is a matter of concern for all the parents, teachers and society as a whole that both the groups are poor on a mental health scale.

The study presented B.Ed. A comparative study was carried out on the environmental awareness of the college students. 40 students and 40 girl students were selected under the study. Environmental awareness of both the above groups was measured using survey method self-made questionnaire. The results obtained from the study make it clear that there is a significant difference in environmental awareness among art group and science group students.

The main purpose of this research was to find out the mean difference between joint family and separate family’s women in mental health. The total sample consisted 60 women were taken. The research tool for mental health was measured by Dr. Jagdish and Dr. A. K. Srivastava. Here ‘t’ test was applied to check the significance of mental health in joint and separate family’s women. Result shows that significant difference between joint and separate family’s women in mental health.

A comparative study was conducted to estimate biodiesel productivity of five varieties of castor beans: Ricinus communis zanzibariensis {white black} (castor 1), Ricinus communis sanguineus (castor 2), Ricinus communis carmencita (castor 3), Ricinus communis zanzibariensis {dark black} (castor 4) and Ricinus communis {black Tanzania}(castor 5). The castor beans were preheated to a temperature between 22 and 33 ° C and then pressed with a manual hydraulic press, under 170 bars. The oil obtained was subjected to the transesterification reaction with methanol (99.98% pure) in a proportion of 5: 1 in the presence of sodium hydroxide as a catalyst (10,672g) for 02 hours at temperature between 60 and 70 °C. Purification was performed by reacting the methyl ester formed with heated water (55 °C) and acetic acid. The density, the kinematic viscosity at 21 ° C and the proportion of residual soap were determined later. The results for five castor varieties showed that the oil yields varied from 24 to 26.96 %; the volume of methyl ester was higher with castor 4 and lower with castor 5 but there was no significant difference in the biodiesel yields. Castor 2 has the best yield of biodiesel (93.5%), followed by castor 5 (92.5%), castor 3 (91%), castor 1 (90.75 %) and castor 4 (90%).  Therefore castor oil 2 has a better potential for biodiesel production.

- In present studies value was studied between urban and rural students. A group of 60 students in which there were 30 girls and 30 boys and each group included both from urban and rural area. 15 subjects were taken in each treatment and each subject were treated individual personality with a measurement devised by Dr. R. K. Ojha(1971). Two way Anova was experimented on the data obtained. The mean of urban students was found 107.666 and rural area students was 110.667.The value level of rural students was found to be more as compared urban students. Palygorskite is a clay mineral that has several industrial and environmental applications. Palygorskite main deposits in Brazil are located in the municipality of Guadalupe, Piauí. A comparative study was performed with five samples of palygorskite from different locations through ore dressing and chemical and mineralogical characterization, using the XRD, XRF and methylene blue titration techniques. According to the results, there are significant differences in the samples composition. Among them, the most significant difference was the cation exchange capacity (CEC) value, which ranged from 24.0 to 41.0 meq.100 g-1, followed by the content of some oxides and the crystalline phases present. Despite coming from the same region, the samples contained distinct impurities.
