The paper covers the analysis of the development of the crop output market in Ukraine which ensures both food security of the country and the production of alternative fuel. The preconditions of negative changes in agriculture of Ukraine were studied. High profitability of corn and sunflower production encourages producers to increase their sown areas. The analysis of the production of some agricultural crops was made in the years of 2000–2019. The challenge of the use of nutritious residues of agricultural crops is discussed in the paper. The estimation of the production efficiency of some kinds of agricultural products at farm enterprises of Ukraine for the period of 2009–2019 was made. Some ecological-economical aspects of the use of nutritious residues of agricultural crops to balance mineral crop nutrition and to manufacture bio-fuel were suggested.

The article analyzes the production of agricultural products by economic entities of Lviv region during the period of 2000–2017. Changes in the production of volumes of products by agrarian business entities during the period under review reflect certain trends in the areas of their functioning. Thus, in particular, as a result of the research, it was established that the volumes of agricultural production produced by all categories of farms increased in 2017 compared to 2000 by 40.9%, and from 2016 by 6.1%, including: crop production, respectively, in %: 77.2 and 7.7 and livestock production – by 4.1; 3.5 The study of the volumes of agrarian production in the context of the main producers shows that the agricultural enterprises have significantly increased production, and the households have made minor changes. At the same time, there were solid trends in the dynamical increase in the share of agricultural production produced by agricultural enterprises and the decrease in its production by households. Appropriate trends also occurred in the productive use of agricultural land (production per 100 hectares of agricultural land). Thus, agricultural enterprises on these indicators considerably exceed the economy of the population. The above data in Table 2 confirms the specific digital indicators. On this occasion, we note that when in 2000 agricultural enterprises produced agrarian products per 100 hectares of agricultural land, UAH thous.: 98.3; including: crop production 75.6 and livestock production 22.7, then in 2017, these indicators respectively were: 1284.2; 889.9 and 391.3, or this increase for the analysis period was: times: 13.0; 11.8 and 17.2. As far as households are concerned, there is a slightly different trend: in 2017 in comparison with 2000 there were processes of reduction of these relative indicators and they made in 2017 when comparing their values with the level of 2000, respectively, %: 64.0; 80, and 49.5. Thus, the results of the conducted research indicate that in the agricultural production of Lviv region intensive development processes of large agrarian formations and slowing down of small farms. These positive trends will continue to evolve and will continue to develop until optimal relationships are established between large and small forms of management.

The article assesses the food security of municipalities in the Volgograd region based on indicators of self-sufficiency in agricultural products. It was proposed to adapt the methodology for calculating self-sufficiency indicators, replacing indicators of consumption of basic products in municipalities that are not publicly available with indicators of necessary production volumes in accordance with rational norms. This makes it possible to better assess the extent to which municipalities are able to provide the population with basic food supplies, as well as to identify bottlenecks in order to develop proposals to address them. The highest self-sufficiency ratios for the main types of products was noted in the municipalities of the North-Western agricultural region with most favourable conditions for agricultural activities and, conversely, the lowest figures are typical for agricultural Zavolzhsky area – with the less favourable agricultural conditions.

The intensified use of cultivated land is essential for optimizing crop planting practices and protecting food security. This study employed a telecoupling framework to evaluate the cultivated land use intensification rates in typical Chinese villages (village cultivated land use intensifications—VCLUIs). The pressure–state–response (PSR) model organizes the VCLUI indexes including the intensity press, output state, and structural response of cultivated land use. Empirical analysis conducted in Baiquan County, China, indicating that the cultivated land use intensification levels of the whole county were low. However, the intensifications of villages influenced by physical and geographic locations and socioeconomic development levels varied significantly. This paper also found that variations in the VCLUIs were mainly dependent on new labor-driven social subsystem differences. Thus, the expanding per capita farmland scales and increasing numbers of new agricultural business entities were critical in improving the VCLUI. Overall, the theoretical framework proposed in this study was demonstrated to be effective in analyzing interactions among the natural, social, and economic subsystems of the VCLUI. The findings obtained in this study potentially have important implications for future regional food security, natural stability, and agricultural land use sustainability.

Since 1990, epic strides have been made in global health and development toward achieving Millennium Development Goals. With a united front of forces, including governments, coalitions, private sector, foundations, philanthropic organizations, and the faith community, millions of lives have been saved from extreme poverty and disease. Yet, some issues enjoy more robust funding and notoriety than others.  For instance, AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria enjoy the majority of the U.S. foreign assistance funding in global health. Nutrition, notably, has remained stagnant for decades. We wanted to test the appetite for increased funding for international nutrition and food security issues among Political, Religious, Social Conservatives (PRSCs), and the General Population (GP) to gauge perception and response to the issue and its correlates. Our goal with these national surveys was to understand the best choice of language to promote awareness, education, and prompt advocacy for global nutrition and food security issues. With this research, we found that conservatives were motivated by national security issues first and foremost, not their faith, finances or moral foundation. We recommend that education be enhanced among conservatives regarding U.S. foreign assistance, nutrition funding and implementation, and nutrition-related terminology, including stunting, wasting, and anemia. Moreover, we recommend strong narratives about mothers, children, and infants, particularly a child’s first 1,000 days, from conception to two years, which has proved to elicit the most positive response among all messaging.

Aviation business is a capital intensive and high risk in terms of safety. Legislation in force in Indonesia requires enterprises should cost in the form of a limited liability company that is obliged to deposit the basic capital of 500 billion rupiah. The capital cannot be made in working capital which is useful for the collateral to a third party. The regulations for a limited liability company are to be established by at least 2 people. The purpose of this research is to analyze the linkage of the board directors and the status of aviation industry licensing law. The position of the legal status of business entities where shareholder is only one person is to be studied in this descriptive study. The result shows that the airlines company should provide the capital risk and high insurance of the third party. UUPT also has given the authority of the shareholders (who owns 20 % of the share) to be decision makers in the company. However, without independent surveillance, it is possible that the shareholders do some mistakes in making decisions. The purpose of the article is to develop instrumentarium for determination ofthe level of food security. In order to achieve the set goal, the authors use method ofmonitoring and economic & mathematical modeling of manufacture and consumption ofagricultural products. In the process of the research, the authors test this method by theexample of modern Russia and determine the existence of the problem of food security. Inorder to solve this problem, the authors develop recommendations for stabilization ofagricultural production, as a basis of country’s food security. The authors also conductanalysis of agricultural development of developed countries and determine primary tasks,solution of which will stipulate provision of the required level of food security. As a resultof the research, the authors come to the conclusion that the developed recommendationscan be directions of unified state approach to solving the problem of achievement of foodsecurity and formation of agrarian policy. At that, it should be noted that policy which isaimed at achievement of national-level goal cannot be formed without relevantinformational provision. Therefore, agriculture authorities must possess full, high-quality,and actualized information. Elements of state policy in the sphere of achievement of foodsecurity can stipulate achieving indicators which are determined by national doctrine andform optimal level of cooperation of national agriculture production and foreign partners.

This paper aimed to explore the effectiveness of agricultural cooperatives towards the enhancement of food security in rural areas. The formation of agricultural cooperatives in South Africa is a prerequisite for obtaining government support concerning activities aimed at social and economic development. It is well-documented that agricultural cooperatives are business entities and vehicles for food security. However, this review sustained that agricultural cooperative do not completely alleviate the vulnerability of food-insecure households because of the dearth of institutional support and sufficient productive resources.  Focus group discussions with six agricultural cooperatives and four face-to-face in-depth interviews with municipal officials were conducted to envisage the improvement of food security through agricultural cooperatives. Using thematic analysis to analyse data, findings confirmed that institutional support improves the efficiency of agricultural cooperatives at the local level. Furthermore, institutional support enhances productivity which renders the cooperatives as a supplementary intervention to food security. However, there is a gap in enabling access to agricultural inputs, such as funding for access to farming equipment. This paper recommends the implementation of a cooperative management structure to enhance planning, coordination, and monitoring. The municipality should review the agricultural cooperative governance frameworks to achieve enabling environments for farming activities
