This study examined the mediating effects of peer status on the relationship between Intellectual Achievement Responsibility and the academic performance of 79 sixth grade students in an open-space school. When peer status was specified, a negative association was noted between achievement responsibility and academic ability for students of high status, but a positive one for students of low status. No association between achievement responsibility and ability was observed for students with medium peer status. Operation of internal achievement motivation may be influenced by the social psychological environment of the individual.

The research aims to find out the relationship between mental arithmetic and estimate approximate skill and solving mathematical problems among sixth grade students in :Baghdad by answering the following questionsIs there a statistically significant correlation between mental arithmetic and approximate estimate the sixth grade pupils skill?Is there a statistically significant correlation between mental arithmetic skill and solving mathematical problems among sixth gradersPrimary?Is there a statistically significant correlation between the rough estimate and solving mathematical problems among sixth grade students?Be the research community of the disciples of sixth grade in the city of Baghdad / Rusafa first for the academic year 2015/2016, where numbered (8710), a pupil was chosen from a random sample consisted of 302 pupils either search tool is about three tests, one of them related to the account the mental and the other approximate estimate and last sports problems and after verifying the validity and reliability of the tests were applied to the sample and the results showed the weakness of students in mental arithmetic and estimate approximate skill and solving math problems and the existence of a correlation between them.The study concluded that a number of recommendations including:Further research on an objective mental arithmetic and solving math problems, and include mathematics curriculum activities develop mental arithmetic and approximate estimate and solving math problems.

Abstract Background: The purpose of this study is to elucidate the relationship between fundamental daily living habits and health literacy exhibited by self-care behaviour in sixth-grade students in Japanese elementary schools by verifying the association of actual status of fundamental daily living habits with awareness of behavioural and health contingencies and healthy behavioural choices.Methods: In this study, a cross-sectional survey was undertaken with 287 sixth-grade students in Japanese elementary school. The questionnaire consisted of three elements of status of basic lifestyle habits, behavioural and health contingencies, and healthy behavioural choices.Results: These results indicate that while fundamental daily living habits are formed by including behavioural and health contingencies, the association of awareness of contingencies and behavioural choices with their actual status is not clear. It is found that during childhood, there is a risk of interruption in the awareness about the acquired behaviours and health contingencies, and it is evident that sustaining such awareness is necessary.Conclusions: This study makes a significant contribution to the literature because there are very few studies on children’s fundamental daily living habits from a health literacy viewpoint and it is not clear whether the fundamental daily living habits are associated with self-care ability as health literacy.

Digital reading environments are redefining the relationship between reader, text, activity, and sociocultural context. This chapter explores the nature of engagement, collaboration, and reader/writer response, as sixth-grade students from Ireland and the United States read and responded to electronic books within the context of an online global literature circle. In response to the readings, students composed digital thinkmarks, which served as springboards for subsequent written asynchronous message board discussions. Findings from this qualitative case study suggest that peer collaboration in an online literature discussion forum enabled the construction of social identity, community building, and a sociocultural situated response and engendered immersion in, involvement with, and interpretation of texts.

We examined the moderating effect of gender on witnessing bullying, defending, and internalizing symptoms among sixth-grade students at one middle school in the northwestern United States. Results indicated that for females, witnessing bullying was positively associated with depressive symptoms and social anxiety, whereas for males, defending was positively associated with depressive symptoms. Findings suggest the importance of equipping female students with strategies to cope with witnessing bullying and providing male students with appropriate intervention skills for defending targets.

Pubertal development has been implicated as the point of origin for decreased body satisfaction and self-concept for girls from prepubertal levels and an increase in body satisfaction and self-concept for boys. Two groups of boys and girls in Grades 3 and 6 completed a Body Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Piers-Harris Self-concept Scale to test this assumption. The third graders were considered to be prepubertal and sixth graders as early pubertal. The sixth-grade boys scored lower on body satisfaction than third-grade boys, and their self-concept scores were positively correlated with body satisfaction scores. For girls, body satisfaction scores were correlated with self-concept in both grades, and few significant differences were found between grades. For girls apparently the relationship between body satisfaction and self-concept may be present before the onset of puberty.

This study aims to examine the level of confidence relationship with physical education learning achievement in elementary schools in the Tawang sub-district, Tasikmalaya City. The research method uses descriptive-correlational. The sample in this study is the sixth-grade students selected representing several schools in the District of Tawang as many as 60 students employing a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a confidential questionnaire. Data processing procedures to obtain answers about whether or not the hypothesis is accepted following the proposed significance are: (1) looking for averages, (2) looking for standard deviations, (3) testing normality through the Lillefors test (4) testing the correlation of two variables. Based on the results of research and statistical calculations on hypothesis testing the relationship of the level of confidence with physical education learning achievement, the authors can conclude as follows; there is a significant relationship between self-confidence and student achievement in class VI in Tawang District, Tasikmalaya City. Because the significance value obtained is greater than 0.05, and the value of Yxy (0.90)> (0.250) rtable (0.05) (60) then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is a significant relationship between self-confidence and achievement learning (significant).
