The article describes the President Yanukovych and his entourage’s actions taken to establish control over the key branches of power in Ukraine. The role of the Donetsk clan’s particular representatives, mainly AndriiKliuev and SerhiiLyovochkin, in implementing the authority concentration schemes, is explored. The context of building up the floor-crossers coalition (officially named “Stability and Reforms”) in 2010 is highlighted. The reasons for Donetsk clan choosing the non-constitutional way of seizing control over the Parliament are explained, such as: rate of action, low price of deputies’ engagement, keeping up the ideological confrontation façade with Julia Tymoshenko’s Bloc and «Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defence» parliamentary alliance. MykolaAzarov’s cabinet (named March 11, 2010) is analyzed, with specific influential groups identified within its composition, such as MykolaAzarov’s, AndriiKliuev’s, RinatAkhmetov’sDmytroFirtash’s and Victor Yanykovych’s clientele. The quotas of Litvin’s Block, Ukraine’s Communist Party and Russian lobbies have been distinguished. The responsible assignments in security ministries data has been generalized. The fact that Victor Yanukovych’s entourage had established full actual control over top officials of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine in the eve of the Presidential Elections 2010 decisive second ballot is emphasized. The Prosecutor General’s Office, Security Service, Foreign Intelligence, Border Police and National Security and Defense Council’s governing authorities personnel has been analyzed. Specific attention has been paid to AndriiPortnov’s role in implementing the judicial reform aimed at depriving the Ukrainian judiciary of any independence, with the Presidential Office, namely AndriiPortnov, gaining the decisive impact over its activities and preserving but formal procedures and formulas from the relatively autonomous judiciary built under Victor Yushchenko. The facts of placing pressure upon the judges voicing dissent over the reform have been revealed.

The intake system sub-model, the fuel dynamics sub-model and the power output sub-model are studied in this paper based on Elbert Hendricks engine mean model. Engine output characteristics using computational model is established in MATLAB/Simulink. Parameter of the modeling and simulation process is obtained through experiments, and finally, the engine bench test is done, and compared it with the simulation curve in same conditions. The results show that the model calculation has smaller error, higher precision, and which can meet the basic requirements of the engine modeling in actual control.

A set of simulation models of various subsystems of a coal mine was developed with the help of a new visual interactive simulation system of technological processes. This paper contains a brief description of this simulation system and its possibilities. The main possibilities provided by the simulation system are: the quick construction of models from library elements, 3D representation, and the communication of models with actual control systems. These simulation models were developed for the simulation of various subsystems of a coal mine: underground conveyor network subsystems, pumping subsystems and coal face subsystems. These simulation models were developed with the goal to be used as a quality and reliability assurance tool for new process control systems in coal mining.

The concept of management refers to the process to plan, to organize, to staff, to direct and to control the activities in any organization for achieving the common goal in a very systematic manner. Further, the term management refers to both a method of science art to empower individuals and to make an institution more efficient and effective when compared to the state without the manager and the management. As a process of the institution, the management lies amidst the policy formation for and the actual control and command of the forces in the military sector. management covers elements like management of the resources of sector, management of the personnel in the field and acquisition management.

Traditionally, sailing ships were commanded from the quarter deck, aft of the mainmast. With the arrival of paddle steamers, engineers required a platform from which they could inspect the paddle wheels and where the captain's view would not be obstructed by the paddle houses. A raised walkway, literally a bridge, connecting the paddle houses was therefore provided. When the screw propeller superseded the paddle wheel, the bridge was retained. Commands would be passed from the senior officer on the bridge to stations dispersed throughout the ship, where physical control of the ship was exercised, as technology did not exist for the remote control of steering or machinery. Helm orders would be passed to an enclosed wheel house, where the coxswain or helmsman operated the ship's wheel. Engine commands would be relayed to the engineer in the engine room by an engine order telegraph, which displayed the captain's orders on a dial. The engineer would ensure that the correct combination of steam pressure and engine revolutions were applied. The bridge was often open to the elements, therefore a weatherproof pilot house could be provided, from which a pilot, who was traditionally the ship's navigating officer, could issue commands from shelter. Iron, and later steel, ships also required a compass platform. This was usually a tower, where a magnetic compass could be sited far away as possible from the ferrous interference of the hulk of the ship. Depending upon the design and layout of a ship, all of these terms can be variously interchangeable. Many ships still have a flying bridge, a platform atop the pilot house, open to weather, containing a binnacle and voice tubes to allow the conning officer to direct the ship from a higher position during fair weather conditions. The concept was that the higher you are situated, the better and farther you could see. Larger ships, often had a navigation bridge which would be used for the actual conning of the ship. Modern advances in remote control equipment have seen progressive transfer of the actual control of the ship to the bridge. The wheel and engines can be operated directly from the bridge, controlling often-unmanned machinery spaces. Today, Monkey Island and Crow’s nest have become so archaic that people have forgotten their meaning as they have been deleted from contemporary marine glossaries.

From the onset of the digital dawn, visually constructed new communication technologies, in particular social networks, have occupied a significant place in the lives of children. With increasing compactness of digital technologies, its availability increased also and helped social networks to a central role in the lives of adults and children as well. The shrinking of technology enabled most families to afford a tablet for their children who used the technology for starting an active social network life. This process brought with it endless debates about the actual control conditions of the children's usage and those conditions that were advisable. This study utilized in-depth interviews with six parents of children in the 4-7 age group, consisting a focus group to define the motives of adults who enabled their children with access to “digital technologies” and “social networks.”

Since the discovery of the Oriental Peach Moth in Ontario in 1925, yearly studies have been conducted to determine the extent to which our native parasitic hymenoptera have transferred their attention to this new source of host material. These studies have disclosed 15 of our native species attacking the Oriental Peach Moth, but as yet, little assistance in the form of actual control has developed from their efforts. During 1929 only 2.2 per cent. of 3298 larvae reared were parasitized by them; thus it seemed advisable to attempt the introduction of species which have proven of major importance in controlling the pest in areas of older infestation.

ABSTRACT We examine dominant ownership in Continental European firms to further refine the distinction between the ability to control and actual control and whether a particular distinct shareholder ownership type is associated with company performance. In addition, we empirically test whether the economic performance of the firms from different countries is consistently affected by the nature of the company's dominant owner. After disaggregating the overall sample by specific ownership type and by country, we find a positive relationship between dominant ownership and performance for firms in which banks and families/individuals are the dominant owners and a negative relationship when corporations are the dominant owners. Additional analysis discloses an even more complicated picture, suggesting that countries are not homogenous in terms of their ownership landscapes and, hence, their effects on performance.

A solution to the problem of the elimination of the chattering effect and the improving of the convergence speed for sliding mode control is presented in this paper.A new dynamical sliding mode controller is developed which takes the first derivative of the control signal instead of the actual control as control and results in smoothed control inputs to the given system.A new nonlinear sliding mode surface is devised which can improve the convergence speed in the sliding phase.Exponential reaching law is taken to determine the control law which can improve the convergence speed in the reaching phase.A mobile manipulator with two arms is taken as an example to track a given trajectory with the proposed controller. It is found that the new developed method has a high convergence speed and the chattering is also reduced greatly.
