 AbstractThis research aimed at knowing the effect of using TPS learning model with ICM media toward student chemistry learning achievement on Hydrocarbon lesson at the tenth grade of State Senior High School 2 Rumbiojaya. It was instigated by the low of student chemistry learning achievement on Hydrocarbon lesson at the tenth grade of State Senior High School 2 Rumbiojaya. It was a Quasi-experiment with pretest and posttest design. Two classes of the tenth-grade students owning the same homogeneity level were the samples, the tenth grade of classes 2 was as the experimental group and class 3 was as the control group, and Purposive sampling technique was used. Observation, homogeneity test as the preliminary data test, pretest and posttest as the final data test, and documentation were the techniques of collecting the data.  t test used to analyze the final data showed that tobserved was 2.038 and ttable was 2.00 at 5% significant level.  It meant that tobserved was higher than ttable, H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted.  It revealed that there was an effect of using TPS learning model with ICM media toward student learning achievement on Hydrocarbon lesson and the coefficient of effect was 8.6%.Keywords : Think Pair Share, Index Card Match, Learning Achievement, Hydrocarbon.

AbstractThis research was instigated by the low of  student chemistry learning achievement at the eleventh grade of MIPA of State Senior High School 3 Dumai. Therefore, it was conducted an Experimental research with pretest and posttest design. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Problem Based Learning model with Chemimagz media toward student learning achievement on Hydrocarbon lesson. The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students of MIPA in the Academic Year of 2017/2018. The samples of this research were the eleventh-grade students of MIPA 1 as the Experimental group and the students of MIPA 2 as the Control group. The data in this research were collected by using observation, preliminary data test that was homogeneity test, final data tests that were pretest and posttest, and documentation. Kp formula was used to know the effect of implementing the model toward learning achievement. The difference effect was analyzed by using Paired Sample t-test. Based on the data analysis of preliminary and final data, it was obtained that tobserved was 2,267 and ttable was 2,002 at 5% significant level. tobserved was higher than ttable, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It meant that there was an effect of impelenting Prblem Based Learning model with Chemimagz media toward student learning achievement on Hydrocarbon lesson at the eleventh grade of MIPA of State Senior High School 3 Dumai, and the effect was 8,27%.Keywords: Learning Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Chemimagz, Hydrocarbon

Abstract This research was an experiment—instigated by the lack of students’ activeness in the teaching learning process. This research aimed at informing that Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning model effected students’ Chemistry learning activity on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solution material at State Islamic Senior High School of Kuok.  The samples were 29 students of class X.1 (Experimental group) and 31 students of class X.3 (Control group). Interview, normality test of observation sheets, and documentation were the techniques of collecting the data.  T-test was used to analyze the data. Based on the data analysis, tobserved was 2.200 and ttable was 2.00 (tobserved ≥ ttable). It revealed that Ho was rejected. In other words, it showed that there was students’ Chemistry learning activity enhancement on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solution material at State Islamic Senior High School of Kuok. Science literacy was the capacity to use scientific knowledge, to identify questions, to draw a conclusion based on the facts, evidence, and data in order to understand and help researchers to make decisions about the natural world and human interactions with the nature. This research aimed at knowing the  effect of implementing Science, Technology, and Society (STS) learning model toward student science literacy ability on Electrolyte and non-Electrolyte Solution lesson at State Senior High School 2 Tambang. It was a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent control group design. Purposive sampling technique was used in this research. The data were obtained from test and interview. The research findings showed that the score of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 was smaller than 0.05 (0.000<0.05), and tobserved was higher than ttable (11.564>1.667). Based on the basis for decision making in Independent Sample t- test, it could be concluded that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It meant that there was an effect of implementing STS learning model toward student science literacy ability on Electrolyte and non- Electrolyte Solution lesson at State Senior High School 2 Tambang with the coefficient of effect 18.2%.

AbstractThis research was instigated by Chemistry subject at State Senior High School 1 Siak Hulu that was dominated by Lecturing method, and the low of student scores on Atomic Structure lesson in the Academic Year of 2016/2017.  This research aimed at knowing the effect of Joyful Learning model with Recitation method using Physical Self-Assessment learning strategy toward student learning achievement on Atomic Structure lesson.  Experimental method was used in this research with True experimental pretest posttest control group design.  Purposive sampling technique was used in this research.  The samples were the tenth-grade students of Natural Science 1 as the experimental group and the students of Natural Science 2 as the control group.  The used instruments were learning achievement test that was supported by observation sheet and documentation.  The research findings showed that tobserved score 2.74 and ttable was 2.00.  It showed that tobserved was higher than ttable, there was an effect on learning achievement, and the effect was 11.5%.  So, it could be concluded that there was an effect of Joyful Learning model with Recitation method using Physical Self-Assessment learning strategy at State Senior High School 1 Siak.Keywords:     Joyful Learning Model, Recitation Method, Physical Self-Assessment Learning Strategy, Learning Achievement, Atomic Structure

AbstractThis research is based on the low outcomes of class XI students on their chemistry subject. Therefore, the experiment research by pretest and posttest to discover the effect of cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) by using Handout toward learning outcomes of State Senior High School 1 Kampar on salt hydrolysis is conducted. The subject of this research is the students of class XI Mia in 2015-2016 year by using 2 classroom samples: XI Mia 1 (exsperiment) dan XI Mia 4 (control). The data was collected by using observation, initial test (homogeneity), final test (pretest and postest), and documentation. To discover the effect of the model on learning outcomes, the formula of Kp is applied. The effect differences are analyzed by t-test sampel related. The analysis result of initial and final data is t-counting = 2.325 and t-table = 1,68 in the significant rate of 5%. The value of t-counting > t-table, therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is the effect of cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) by using handout toward learning outcomes of State Senior High School 1 Kampar on salt hydrolysis by the effect as much as 7.8%.  Key words:      Learning outcomes, model learning model of STAD, salt hydrolysis

AbstractThis research was instigated by the low of students creative thinking ability at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja.  It was Quasi Experimental research.  Simple Random Sampling technique was used in this research.  The samples comprised two classes, the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 1 that were 33 students as the Control group and the students of Natural Science 2 that were 32 studentsas the Experimental group. The techniques of collecting the data were tests in the form of homogeneity test as the preliminary data, pretest and posttest as the final data, observation, and documentation. The instrument of this research was creative thinking ability test in the form of essay with the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed by using t test at 5% significant level.  The research findings showed that there was a significant effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson that t was 4.268 and the score of Sig. <em>The research aims to determine the environmental care attitude in Senior High School 1 Kayen. The research samples were the tenth-grade students, eleventh-grade students, and third-grade students of Social Science (IPS) class at Senior High School 1 Kayen. The research used Slovin formula to obtain 192 samples from the tenth grade, eleventh grade, and twelfth grade. The study used a random sampling technique. Questionnaires were used as the data collection techniques to measure knowledge about environmental care attitudes using calculation techniques of Likert scale and percentage formula. The result shows the students in Senior High have the moderate category on environmental care attitude, with a total frequency of 89 students consisting of tenth-grade students, eleventh-grade students, and twelfth-grade students in Social Science (IPS) class with a percentage score of 46,35%. In an attempt to increase students’ environmental care, we suggest several educational agents, such as Educational supervisors, Principals, and Teachers give the students examples of good actions to the environment in daily routine.</em>

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effect of booklet-based on PQ4R learning method. Using quasi experimental method, as well as nonequivalent control group design, this study employed students of grade X as the samples (Grade XA as the control group and grade XB as the experiment group). They were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection tools used were essay and interview. While the data collection technique employed were measurement and direct communication. The study revealed that the average posttest score of the experiment group was 83,68, while the average posttest score of the experiment group was 83,68. Hence the experiment group was distributively considered normal. The homogeneity test indicated that both groups were homogenous (sig value 0,0522>0,05). However, the hypothetical test of t independent sample with α=0,05 discovered T account of 2,960>560. This value indicated that there was a significant difference of students’ learning achievement by using booklet based PQ4R method and lecturing method in chemical bonding class at grade X of SMA Negeri 1 Pengkadan. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of blended learning model on senior high school students’ achievement. This study used experimental research method with randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The study was carried out with 63 students attending information and communication technology course, where 31 of whom were in the experimental group and 32 of whom were in the control group. In the experimental group, teacher used blended learning as instructional model, while in the control group, the course was taught based on traditional teaching model. Data collected from the result of learning objective test with 35 questions. The research showed that the learning result of experimental group is higher than the learning result of control group. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the blended learning model contributed more to the students’ achievement.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan Keterampilan Proces Sains (KPS) siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dan pembelajaran konvensional mengenai materi pokok elastisitas dan hukum Hooke di SMA. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan desain two groups pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Medan. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan observasi aktivitas KPS siswa. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan pengujian hipotesis uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan KPS yang signifikan antara penerapan menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional dengan nilai sig. 0,000 pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil uji N-Gain Score dengan penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry training lebih tinggi dalam meningkatkan KPS siswa sebesar 0,70 dalam kategori tinggi dibandingkan KPS siswa dengan penerapan pembelajaran konvensional sebesar 0,59 dalam kategori sedang. Kata kunci: keterampilan proses sains; model pembelajaran inquiry training. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the differences in Science Proses Skills (SPS) of students using inquiry training learning model and conventional learning about the subject matter of elasticity and Hooke’s law in High School. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with two groups of pretest-posttest design. The population of this research is all students of class XI MIPA in Public Senior High School 5 Medan. The sample was taken by a purposive sampling technique that consists of two groups, namely an experimental group and a control group. The data collected technique has been done by tests and observations activities SPS student. The data in this research was analyzed a hypothesis-testing t-test. The results showed significant differences in SPS between the application of using inquiry training learning models compared to conventional learning with the value of sig. was 0.000 at the significance of level 0.05. Based on the results of the N-Gain Score test with the application of the inquiry training learning model is higher in increasing SPS of the students by 0.70 in the high category compared to SPS of students with the application of conventional learning by 0.59 in the medium category. Keywords: science process skills; inquiry training learning model.
